Just popped in to catch up on all the bizzinesses and Miss Marydoll has done it again…made me howl with laughter at her hilarious 🤣 retelling of yesterday’s episode! She really could write a bestseller!

Good to see you gadding about on the Costa del Sol 🏖️ Urms with all your stresses this past year and how touching that Mr Urms made the world move for you….😉 - you deserve it x (and a bingo win to boot!)

Blossoming he has recovered well from the surgery and having general anaesthetic. The stitches have dissolved and he no longer walks like John Wayne 😂. His big brother gets quite anxious for his little brother and worries about him at times, so we have to do a lot of reassuring.
Housework is done and I've even cleaned the inside of the dishwasher, including the underside of the filters. Yuck.

Purplepixie Wed 20-Mar-24 11:09:21

Thank you Blossoming for asking. It is 8 weeks since the hysterectomy and I drove for the first time last week. Still not able to do any heavy lifting of shopping etc but Hubby is quite happy to do all of that. Stay safe and well everyone.

I hope things get resolved soon GM don’t be too hard on yourself it could happen so easily to any of us. flowers

Good morning Mick and all from a wet northwest coast.
Music club was very enjoyable yesterday, we’ve have a new member, a guitarist with a lovely voice. Sadly there was a row at the end between fellow committee member and a moaning interferer. There’s always one…

DD cooked spaghetti bolognaise in the evening and DS came over. An auctioneer is due this morning to look at furniture and paintings I am going to sell. This house needs a good declutter.

I hope you feel cheerier as the day goes on grandmattie and thoughts to all with worries.🌺

I’m hoping todays injection will allow me to manoeuvre my underwear with fewer contortions marydoll. Who knew you needed a working thumb to pull up your pants? grin.

I am extremely bendy and supple in normal circumstances, today is the first day I have managed to put socks on since last Wednesday, even pants were problematic 😱

Blossoming Wed 20-Mar-24 10:18:05

Good morning Mick and all from rainy Lancashire, currently 9°C. Today is the vernal equinox, when the hours of light and darkness are equal. A sure sign summer is coming.

Your wee grandson has recovered well from his surgery Grandmabatty. Ear infections are miserable, I hope the antibiotics are helping.

I had the dentist and hygienist last week Taichinan, so glad that’s it for another 6 months! MrB was there yesterday, he was expecting a painful experience but it was fine.

Good heavens Marydoll what an eventful day! I’m glad you enjoyed meeting up with friends, how odd that the ex turned up.

Hope you are quite recovered from your surgery now Purplepixie.

We have been to Lidl for the weekly shop. I am keeping an eye on MrB, who is being careful not to overdo things at the moment. He didn’t even glance at the middle aisle! Probably just as well, as I spend far too much time browsing on the rare occasions I go shopping.

Have a good day all whatever you’re doing 🌹

Ditto. So embarrassing and don't even consider wearing tights!!! 🤣

Urmstongran I checked the beach in early January, it was pristine. As were the chiringuito’s (I cannot for the life of me remember how to spell this word, much easier when they were just called beach bars/restaurants 🤣)

Enjoy your day 😘

Good morning all from the Black country.
Overslept so I haven't read through yet will catch up later.
Need to get a rush on helping at playgroup.
Best wishes anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed, enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Good morning everybody from warm but not yet sunny Málaga. I’ve just FT’d Himself he looks well and all is good. He is meeting friends for an hour late afternoon. I’m off to a bar at 2pm for a quiz and bingo (😱) not played it since forever so as our eldest daughter said last night ‘aw, nice people have asked you, a half hour stroll along the paseo, a sit down with a couple of drinks what’s not to like?’. She’s right of course. I think when one is alone any invitations ought to be accepted to ‘try things’. This couple are, like me owner/holidaymakers who hail from Bognor Regis. We’ve got to know them quite well over the years, seeing them in the gardens and chatting but this is the first time I’ve been asked to accompany them. Very kind, as they know I’m out on my own.

Pantglas I’m thinking of you today - the beach I shall walk beside and then the bingo! Wish me luck hehe!

Here’s Matt.

No dgd this morning. She had a sleepover at her other grandma’s last night. It saved me from a wet walk to school.

Sainsbury’s delivery this morning then pack my case for my trip to visit my sister in Lancashire tomorrow for five days. Hope the trains run to time.

*Marydoll’ , your capacity for humour in the face of adversity astounds me.
Have as good a day as possible one and all.

Purplepixie Wed 20-Mar-24 08:58:11

Good morning from a wet East Midlands. Stay safe and well everyone.

harrigran Wed 20-Mar-24 08:57:13

Good morning from a rainy NE.
SIL is coming to take me shopping and then I have a dental appointment.
I have to collect my glasses from the optician, they had forgotten to ring me to say they were ready. I rang the shop yesterday as I only have help on a Wednesday and would have had to wait another week.
Thoughts are with those who are troubled.

Grammaretto Wed 20-Mar-24 08:50:27

What a tale Marydoll! You may be dizzy and exhausted but you haven't lost your SoH. grin

Greyduster Wed 20-Mar-24 08:49:52

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a damp South Yorkshire. Late on parade this morning and full of aches and pains from gardening yesterday afternoon. Nothing a shower won’t fix I hope. No writers group this afternoon as I have admin to do.
GM💐
Have the best day you can folks.

BlueSapphire Wed 20-Mar-24 08:45:28

Good morning everyone from a damp and overcast Northampton, and welcome to the first day of spring!

A busy day yesterday; out to M&S Food in the morning to stock up with goodies for my ladies' wine club this evening; two loads of washing out on the line, a quick lunch and managed to get to my walking group. A lovely walk in mild spring weather with lots of blossom to see.

A quick tidy up today, prepare the table for tonight and make sure I have enough seating ready.
DD will be here late afternoon, a quick pasta meal then we'll be ready for good company and wine!

Hope everyone's day goes well.

Good morning from Glasgow. It’s a drizzly day so far, I doubt very much I will be able to squeeze in some garden time.

Basic housework bits to do before I decide what I will do for the rest of the day.

Don’t beat yourself up GM, these reprobates are so professional and plausible, you didn’t stand a chance against their twisted minds. Getting out today is a good plan which always works for me when feeling down. No harm in checking in for an update of the investigation.
I do miss the times when DGDs had sleepovers Brook, now teenagers sleepovers are at friend’s houses.

Hoping a good day is ahead for all, especially those with struggles and worries.

Marydoll Wed 20-Mar-24 08:34:42

Good morning all from a showery Glasgow, where it is 6°C.

My trip yesterday turned out to be rather eventful.
DH dropped me at the station and off he went to the supermarket. I got up to the platform to see a notice on the board saying all trains were cancelled, until the single line track had been inspected.
Of course, I couldn't phone DH to come and get me, because he never looks at his phone. 😡
DD suggested I take the bus up to her village, but I couldn't find the energy to move. (DH had to help me get dressed because my joints were so stiff and sore),
I quite enjoyed sitting chatting to other passengers, when simultaneously there was a very loud announcement and a phone call from the PP. I could hear neither, it all became very confusing.

While I was sitting, DS messaged to say he would take me for coffee, once his conference call was finished. That was a pleasant surprise, I never get time on my own with him. However, it all depended on the trains starting again. Fortunately after a forty five minute delay I managed to get a train, which fortunately missed all, the stops to Glasgow to make up for lost time.

Not having been out for such a long time, I was flummoxed when the guard issued a ticket with a QR code. This techie had absolutely no idea what to do with it, but wasn't letting on. On getting off the train, I followed a young couple, to see what they did. They had no idea either and we couldn't get through the barrier.
#Country bumpkin on tour#. 🤣

On my way to the bank, I spotted a newly opened Oliver Bonas shop. I had to stop myself being seduced by all those bright colours. On noticing a basement, I asked what was there, as no way could I manage the stairs. The assistant kindly took me to the back of the shop and showed me a disabled lift. I went down without any problem, but got stuck the way up. 😱
I was mortified.
#Elderly, dizzy old lady on tour!

I got to the bank, only to find it had been flooded and was closed indefinitely. This is the only branch in the city centre and had only recently opened. 😡
My day was not going well.

I then saw a missed call from DS, saying his meeting had been cancelled and he would come and get me. I told him I was near his office and I would get him. Unfortunately, he was already out looking for me. It was farcical and eventually he told me in no uncertain terms, not to move from where I was! 🤣
# Dithery old lady on tour!

We had coffee together and he escorted me to pick up the things I needed for church. He is not the easiest of people to get on with, due to being under constant stress at work, but we had a lovely chat.

The lunch with friends was great, the time flew by. One of my friends came through from Edinburgh, which was the icing on the cake.
Then her ex partner turned up and joined us. We didn't know what to make of it. She had moved to Edinburgh when they split up.
He was very entertaining and interesting, he is heavily involved in Glasgow heritage. Time flew by. DD messaged to say she had the car at work and had just finished, so she would drive me home. I politely declined, saying we were still gabbing!!
DH was very concerned, when he heard nothing from me. It was 5.30pm when I got home. I promptly fell asleep!
#Exhausted old woman. 💤

Today I am paying the price, little sleep, much pain, but it was worth it. I'm going to the hairdresser's because I am struggling to wash my hair and that is all I will be doing.

Good luck with your injection, Corner, I can empathise, my thumb is twice its usual size and so painful at the moment.
GG keep those exercises going! 💐

I wish you all a pleasant day and a gentle one for all the poorlies.

Bonnybanko Wed 20-Mar-24 08:26:34

Good morning all from a windy start to the day here on the east coast of Fife.

Looking out it’s been raining overnight.

My old school chum came in yesterday for a visit she’s coming tonight too for her tea we’re having chicken kieves and nice new potatoes from M&S with butter of course.

My neighbour also came in in the evening for a chat she brought me lovely daffodils ready to burst open. I’m really so blessed.

I watched the end of the Durrells it took a long while getting there, but Mrs Durrell finally got her kiss, it was soooo emotional nearly had me cry. Hope I’ve not released a spoiler.

Have a good day everyone itll soon be springtime

Taichinan Wed 20-Mar-24 08:19:20

Good morning Mick and All from the Angus coast. The wind and rain are coming out of the north today and it's 3° colder than yesterday. Back to the winter coat I guess - a possible scattering of snow on high ground at the weekend 🏔️❄️😥
I'm glad you corrected re the clocks changing Ash - I never know what the date is, so would have followed blindly!
Grandmattie I hope today is a better day for you - such a horrible situation to be in. Take your DD's advice and keep pushing. It's good that you can cry, but remember also that you feel better when you smile, even if it's forced flowerssmile
Tai chi class went well yesterday and shopping was accomplished with no hassle. Then came feeding the fish in the warm sunshine - until the energy gave out. Today is both an appointment with the dentist and the hygienist. Oh joy!
Have a good day everyone x

Jaxjacky Wed 20-Mar-24 08:06:09

Morning from a dry S Hants, the weather gods seem only to have grey in their colour palette here.
Plumber no3 came yesterday to look at the en-suite, I think he is very high end and will be expensive.
Today I’ll have another go using the clutch in my car, U3A this afternoon.
You’ll be up and down gMattie sadly such a shock takes time to pass 🌻

RosesandLilac Wed 20-Mar-24 08:03:37

Good morning from south Glos, it’s been raining overnight but the sky is brightening up so perhaps we might see some sunshine later?
Yesterday I potted up the dahlia tubers so hopefully they’ll get going. Tomorrow the rest of my garden fencing is being done, then I can sort out the border on that side of the garden. It’s largely in shade so will keep that in mind, it’ll need compost digging in too.
Tomorrow I need to move stuff out of tha bedroom so it can be repainted- the blue walls are making it too gloomy for me so white walls it is. I did look at other colours but it gets little sunshine.
Have a lovely day 🌹

Grandmabatty Wed 20-Mar-24 08:02:36

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 6° and wet. A good day yesterday with dgs2. For the first time for ages he wanted to go out for a walk so we did. The new words were coming thick and fast yesterday. Double decker, campervan and assorted animals from the book we were reading. He's now on antibiotics for his ear infection so hopefully that'll sort it out.
Today is my quiet day. I might make a start on cleaning the kitchen cupboards. Chicken curry for dinner. Have a good day all
