Your evening sounds perfect Urmstongran.. Like you say precious!!

Day spent at hospice with no change...

Love to you all......

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 30-May-24 21:47:31

Hello kitchen people. Good to hear you’ve had a great day Urms.
It was my book group this afternoon. There were ten of us having lunch and talking about books.
While OH was watching television, I watched the last episode of Bridgeton on my iPad. OH and I were in the same room, each wearing headphones!
Have a good what’s left of the evening.

Urmstongran Thu 30-May-24 20:43:27

‘Evening All’. We’ve had a Good Day. We especially treasure them now and don’t take our blessings for granted. Smooth days such as this are precious indeed. We are just up from the bar below us. We’ve enjoyed tapas, drinks and people watching. It’s so nice though to be able to leave the bar, fob ourselves in and come up two floors to our home. Very little effort which has been a godsend.

Your peony is fabulous Jaxjacky I’m afraid my pink ones are invariably flattened by heavy rain- the peonies come out and the rain comes down.
I do have white ones though with a yellow middle, looking like fried eggs which don’t seem to suffer in the same way.

Good evening dear Kitcheners. The last few days have been so busy and I’m ready to crash now. I’ve had my nose cauterised Jax, it’s not pleasant but it will be over soon.

Pleased to read your husband is safe and in good hands NannyG4

Feeling sleepy now, I’ll try to catch up with you all tomorrow ♥️

brook2704 Thu 30-May-24 20:12:21

Aww poor you Jax I bet you’re pleased that’s over with now

GrannyGravy13 Thu 30-May-24 18:59:56

NannyG4 hospices are havens of peace and tranquility, thinking of both 🌻

Jaxjacky Thu 30-May-24 18:53:27

Just lost my post 🙁
Firstly, NannyG4 I’m pleased your husband is comfortable, in the right place and you’re getting support, both from the hospice and your family.
Hospital for me this morning, nose cauterisation, no fun, but there’s a lot worse. Two long calls with friends, another one visited, he’s watering for us next week we’re off to Dorset for a few days. We took him to the pub for a drink, very busy there as the sun has made an appearance.
Hope the travellers have arrived safe and sound ☀️

brook2704 Thu 30-May-24 12:29:27

Nannytopsy Wed 29-May-24 19:11:01

Our peonies are doing well this year Jax. Was it the weather last summer or the wet spring? The irises have been fantastic.

Jaxjacky Wed 29-May-24 18:56:24

Have smashing holidays Grannmarie in Spain and Yia in Greece with smooth journeys.
Oh dear ann shame you didn’t enjoy it.
Generally good news soop 👍
A day of house chores and a little weeding in the garden, interrupted by a blood test and a long call to a friend.
MrJ is cooking tonight.
This peony is glorious, five more flowers than last year.

Grannmarie

Congratulations, 💐 Ladyleftfieldlover, lovely photo, you both look so young.

Thanks, Grandmabatty, we're returning to the same hotel at the Marina but we've chosen B and B instead of half board this time so that we can enjoy different restaurants for dinner.

Thank you, YiaYia, safe journey and have a wonderful time in Greece! 🇬🇷

We are young! He’s 24 and I’m 23. I’m not sure anyone gets married that young these days?

Grannmarie enjoy your week in the sun. So many nice restaurants in Benalmadena. The sky is apocalyptic dark here just now and I suspect very heavy rain shortly. I have spent the day answering emails and phonecalls, so I'm glad I had nothing planned.

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 29-May-24 16:31:28

Hello kitchen people. I’m thinking of all of you ladies experiencing sadness. Hello to the Soops. Good to hear that things are progressing.
It is our 48th wedding anniversary today! Wow. We have been out for lunch at our favourite restaurant for celebrations. My pudding was a lemon meringue baked Alaska with raspberry coulis. Yum. OH had to try some even though he had the cheeseboard. Afterwards we popped into a nearby garden centre and bought some supports for the shrubs in our garden which are becoming enormous. I think it’s all that rain.
Have a good evening. We won’t be eating dinner - maybe a bowl of cereal!

Grannmarie Wed 29-May-24 15:38:24

Good afternoon, Soop and lovely Kitchen people. 🥰
What a long day for MrSoop! But it sounds like both of you are being well monitored, hoping and praying that things continue to improve. Glad to hear that you are UTI free, Soop! Have you thought about using a tablet or smartphone for GN? Very easy and accessible. I no longer use my laptop, like me it is getting old and slow. Just now I'm on my android phone, I also use my kindle fire, I can adjust the text size to suit.

Dear NannyG4, I'm thinking of you and yours, you are all in my thoughts and prayers at this sad time. How lovely that you and your children are all there for your DH and for each other. 💕🙏

Well I have finally packed my case for our wee week in the sun, but I keep finding things to be added so I think I'll have to repack it later...I don't seem to be firing on all cylinders these days. My concentration and memory are haywire, although I do have a list...somewhere! 🤣 We are off to Benalmadena tomorrow, one of our favourite places. 🌞

Thinking of all you lovely Kitchen people, especially those with illness, worries or sorrow. Thank you for your ongoing support. Wishing everyone a peaceful Wednesday. Take care.

Mr Soop drove himself to the Glasgow hospital yesterday. He left shortly after nine and returned just after seven. There was an accident which resulted in a diversion. The scalp was inspected and dressings changed. The local nurse will continue this twice weekly. He then returns to the hospital in three months time. This matter will be ongoing, he's been told.
Today he had bloods taken so that the Lymphoma can be monitored. He'll then have a telephone appointment on Monday with the haematologist.
I haven't a UTI. Good news! The symptoms I've been experiencing could be as a result of the change of cancer meds. Next month, I have to return to the Valle of Leven to see the oncologist. It's possible that we'll meet up with our Baggs.
Our neighbour has kindly cut the grass. He told Mr Soop to put his his feet up and reeeeelax!. Dear man!
Goodness only knows how long it will take for me to catch up with all the happenings in our lovely kitchen. A laptop would help. I could then read through all the missed messages during the quiet times. As it is, I need to log on to the pooter, which can be tiresome when Mr Soop needs to use it too.
I care about all our Kitcheners. I also know that you will continue to support each other through the tough times. The Kitchen will never close.
smile moon

Dear NannyG4 My heart goes out to as you face what it is that we all fear as a loved one's life ebbs away. We Kitcheneers are here to listen and share love with you.

Last night's sunset speaks of peace and tranquillity. I am sharing it with you.

Good after all.
I am reading while waiting for a friend to come for coffee and cake.
It is chilly so the heating is on low and I’m putting the bill to the back of my mind.
Like us all still have granny4 and * Doodle * in my thoughts.

I am feeling better suddenly and doing a few jobs, not too many mind, and yesterday was invited with friends to go to a garden centre for a spot of lunch.
Not to be repeated for some time.

They are friends I have got to know through my GD.
Mum, two daughters and both of their new babies.
One 8 weeks, one 3 weeks.
It was a time in my life I had forgotten.
The babies both wanted feeding when we sat down.
When one cried, they both cried.
I ploughed on with my lunch while the other three ate in shifts.
I do not remember taking my babies out so young and never to a restaurant.
I shall wait until they are much ,much older until I go again.
Having said that they are both beautiful babies and so loved.

I hope you all enjoy the rest of the day and the weather is kind to you.
