Urmston that's excellent news!I'm really happy for both of you
Jaxjacky I'm fighting hard against going to bed now! 😊
‘Evening All’.
I’m delighted to say I have some wonderful news to share. I’ve been so anxious these past few weeks I can’t tell you. Anyway. We attended Christie’s today for Himself's scan results. He is 2/3rds of the way through his new chemo and the Registrar bounded into the out patient consultation room at 4pm, grinned and said “Well - would you like some good news? The main tumour and mets have all shrunk substantially”.
I’m on Cloud 9 as you can imagine as our all our family and friends this evening.
You all ALL such kind, caring and good souls I know you’ll delight in sharing our good fortune.
I’m so happy I could burst!
So much so, I’m planning to join in regularly once again dear Kitcheners for the foreseeable as my heart is so light. How bluddy lucky are we? The relief.
You can’t buy this peace of mind can you?
Xx
Ugh llfl I’m not phobic about snakes, but that’s a bit too local.
An odd day on the phones, all sorted, then I find out theres no quiz tonight, then, just to finish off the evening, I missed the ice cream man🙄.
Apart from that trivia, another sunny, warm day, washing dried beautifully.
You must be exhausted Grandmabatty early night methinks.
I knew there was a reason why I don't want to live Australia Ladyleftfieldlover!
Today has been a good day but long. I've been awake since the back of four and dgs2 was picked up at quarter to 5. He was well behaved and so was dgs1. I've eaten dinner and I'm having a rest before I tackle the dishes. I hope you all have a pleasant evening.
My brother and his partner live an alternative lifestyle in NSW in Australia. He sent me a photo today of a python which seems to have moved into their shed!
Thank you grandmabatty they slept well and we managed to get them both to school this morning without a major incident x
Brook my sympathy. I know the challenge of two grandchildren at the same time in the same place! I hope they slept
Safe travels SueD enjoy your time away
It’s been another gorgeous day here, I’ve been pottering in the garden then called round to DD2 who’s up to her eyes in packing boxes. Trying to help as much as possible so we ended up with both DGC here for a sleepover tonight rather than just DGS. That was a big mistake as we’ve had such a fraught evening 🤣 I remember now why I always prefer them so stay one at a time - the constant bickering and one upmanship is wearing me down! Anyhow they’re both in bed now and we just need to get them to school first thing without further battles and then breathe a sigh of relief.
Lucky you’ve got a dentist appointment next week llfl
Take care all - I really need a wine but daren’t whilst we’re on duty! x
Have a great time SueD.
It’s been a lovely warm day no rain for a change.
I hope the sun will help Yax the trouble with inflammatory arthritis it can flare up anytime.Maybe the Lay Lines that go through Corfu will heal me.🤣🤣
Doodle.🌹
I’ve just eaten spag boll and a dish of ice cream and so far my mouth is fine. I’m going to ring the dentist tomorrow and let them know I may need extra time for my check up appointment.
Evening folks. It’s been a beautiful day here, have explained the shower problems to the plumber and shown him where the water’s coming through. He’s going to arrange to come again once he’s looked at his diary and has some options for us on how to sort the problem. A new shower tray is an obvious necessity but I’m unhappy with other stuff too. Anyway, I’m glad it’s moving forward. Safe travels SueD.
Good to read of people enjoying their gardens. Beef in red wine sounds good Jax, MrB is cooking piri piri chicken, which I love.
Love to everyone who helps make this special kitchen what it is
.
Hope that doesn’t hurt ladylfl. Wednesday isn’t far away.
Safe travels sued. We can’t go far this year although I’d love to.
Temperature has been just right here today. A mix of sitting in the sun and massacring the montana. It’s been a good day. Sunshine certainly helps. Hope to venture to rhododendron woods tomorrow. If we can find them
.
Have a good evening everyone. My thoughts are with everyone in pain at the moment, no matter the kind.
You must be excited SueDonim, have a safe journey with no travel hiccups ✈️.
That’s annoying llfl a fortuitous appointment on Wednesday.
It’s been a gorgeous day here once the high cloud shifted, I’ve pottered, padding in and out of the garden, one water butt is nearly empty already.
Confirmed Imogen’s lifts for next week, I always double check, I’d hate to let her down.
MrJ is peeling potatoes, beef and red wine are in the slow cooker.
My thoughts and condolences are with Doodle.
Yes, the microwave meal was fine, Blossoming! Luckily the socks were clean, so the food wasn’t infused with a Parmesan cheese pong.
We’re almost packed and ready to go now, just those last minute bits and bobs to do. We had to buy new luggage scales as ours have disappeared off the face of the earth. A missing padlock turned up though, so swings and roundabouts!
Take care everyone. Xxx
I’ll try again! The first effort disappeared.
When I got back from church I planted up our one remaining hanging basket. We did have three but other things have taken their place.
OH is off with his bees.
I poached an egg for my lunch (spag Bol tonight) and then made a honey chocolate cake. One of our favourite cakes.
Annoyingly, as I was sampling a large chocolate drop before melting it, one of my crowns came out. I’m seeing the dentist on Wednesday for a checkup so hopefully he can glue it back in.
I hope the Soops are having a good day and feeling better. It’s such a beautiful day - at least it is in Oxfordshire!
Good morning everyone!
We came to bed earlier than usual last night and as a result I’m wide awake at 6 am. Not normal for me! I wish I had the strength of mind to get up and do something useful but I’m afraid not. 🤣
I hope soop is feeling much better and that she will be back in the kitchen soon. Good luck with the family Ann.
There was a wedding in the village church yesterday - the first for 16 years!
The bride looked beautiful.
More to do in the garden - I am so slow this year and the new gardener doesn’t come when he says.
Time for another little snooze I think?
Have a good day everyone.
Been sleeping since I posted earlier, feeling better! I was really on my knees. I wanted to catch up with your news, but I couldn’t read, I think I’m going to have to investigate text reader apps. We are also going to look at getting a cleaner to come in a couple of hours a week.
Soop I’m so glad you have a diagnosis and are getting treatment. Rest and recuperate lovely lady.
Brook, GrandmaBatty* and SueD I applaud your energy, my ‘get up and go’ got up and went ages ago! I’ve been feeling quite energised now decisions have been made and work around the house can be planned, but it’s so frustrating to be physically unable to do what I need.
AnnSixty good for you laying the law down to your family. You’ve worked hard all your life and deserve a break. I can imagine how distressing it was to miss the funeral.
The sparkly socks did make me laugh SueDonim, did the microwave meal survive the ordeal?
Beautiful photo Yia, glad the birthday meal went well,
Grannmaruie hope your worries are soon over.
Hope you’ve enjoyed a restful day Jax and the football fans don’t fall out and scupper the BBQ! Tensions can run high.
Sorry if I have missed anybody or anything, love to you all ❤️
soop the antibiotics will have kicked in after 48 hours and with rest hopefully, you now feel marginally better.
I would put money on it that Sweetie pie visited when you were away and was delighted to receive the usual week's supply on one plate.
This was the 3rd time the grass cutter did not come but at least he is good at communicating. 95% has been done so it does not look too bad.
I lead a quiet, sheltered life and cannot keep up with everybody else. I am exhausted from reading what some of you do during the day.
TOYA
Though I reckon I could enter them into a modern art competition! I’d have to come up with a title, though. 🤔
SueD 🤣🤣
The microwaved socks didn’t survive the experience, Brook. When they’d cooled down, they solidified. They had glitter yarn in them and that seems to have melted and then set solid in the cold. 😂
Hi kitchen pals, it’s been another warm sunny day here in Inverness
I had a relaxing morning at the hairdressers, so feeling a lot better now that my grey roots have been disguised and the colour looks ok. Then over to DD2s for a cuppa and helping her to get her house ready bit by bit for the market. Mainly sorting out toys that the DGC have outgrown but don’t really want to part with. I introduced her to a duster too 🙄
Good for you ann that you’ve made it clear to your family what you expect. Sorry to hear though that you missed the funeral and unable to pay your last respects
Microwaved socks SueD that’s a new one! 🤣
Good to have a family bbq to look forward to Jax - hope your team wins!
Gorgeous picture yia thanks for sharing
Have a lovely evening all x
Good afternoon dear Kitcheners. At long last we have a plumper coming tomorrow to see what’s to be done with the leaking shower. There are so many things wrong with it that I feel like getting it all ripped out and replaced. Anyway we’ll find out after he’s had a look at it. I’m exhausted deep cleaning the bathroom and carrying on decluttering , so much to do and I’m not coping, I’ve reached the stage of tired when I fall over.
It’s a beautiful sunny day here and I’m going to snooze in my chair for a while …
How lovely Yia I hope your pain is at least manageable for your holiday, will the warmth there help?
Frustrating for you ann, well done you telling your family to pull their fingers out!
Oh dear SueDonim not quite what you expected 🙂
My/Fin’s football team won last night, so it’s us (Southampton) v MrJ (Leeds) on Sunday 26th. We have a family BBQ already scheduled, times have been jiggled about, I’m looking forward to it.
A quiet day, I’ll be watering later.
