Good evening, I'm just popping in to say 'Hello' 👋 and catch up on all Kitchen news.
Hoping that the Soops have enjoyed their special family reunion, and that brook is enjoying her family visit to Cambridge. Not long now until you visit your DS in the US, SueD, you must be counting the sleeps! Hope your DH is OK now, Ladyleftfieldlover, and that your boys are soon reconciled. Pace yourself, Grandmabatty, you've got a long week ahead!

I've been playing catch up at home, the decorator has been, also the man to pressure wash the paths and monobloc. I've managed to tidy up my tubs on the patio and paint the back fence. DH helped me to paint the garden bench set but became short of breath very quickly. I've finally persuaded him to make a GP appointment for a review of his medication and inhalers.

We had all three sons, partners and DGD and the Wee Boy here yesterday ( DGS1 was home studying for a big exam today) for a belated birthday lunch for DH, it was so lovely to have them all together. I'm very thankful.
Today has been a bit of a lazy one after a few busy weeks. I went to morning Mass, sat out in the garden awhile reading The Oldie, then made a big pot of savoury mince with Jersey royals.

Thanks again for all your good wishes, health issues affecting two loved ones now are foremost in my mind, hoping and praying for best possible outcomes. Thinking of all who are worried about loved ones. Sorry for rambling on.

Good evening Kitcheners. I. Am. Knackered. Dgs2 woke from his nap this afternoon with a devil on his shoulder. If I were to list the many and varied ways he misbehaved, we would be here all night. He did settle down for the last half hour before his mum picked him up but oh my, today was a bad un. I've had quiche and chips and salad for dinner and I'm about to have a gin and orange. Early bed for me. Take care all.

Hi all decidedly chilly here and raining for the last hour or so, not even a glimpse of the sun all day.
Voluntary phones had 9 calls, but only two lifts required, new clients, cancellations and a wrong number.
Quiz later, I’m back to sweatshirt and fleece, our old pub gets chilly, I’ve mugged up on Eurovision and the BAFTA’s just in case!

It’s stayed dry and mostly sunny here in Cambridge today but with a bit of a breeze. I went into the centre, bought myself a coffee and sandwich and sat by the river watching the world go by. Lots of people punting on the river and happy tourists taking photos. We’ve picked up both DGSs from school and they’re just chilling out before we eat later. DD1 has a new bean to cup all singing and dancing coffee machine that I’m still getting used to - I’m drinking more tea than usual …😳

Good afternoon all! Just finished lunch (left over tandoori chicken) and had a very short snooze. My alarm went off at 6, as I was on the school run. It was a good day, as DGD wasn’t in a sulk when I got there and I kept her calm and DGGS didn’t have a major tantrum when mum left for work nor at preschool. That was a first! On the down side, everyone had overslept except for DGD and they were still asleep when I got there!
Back to the garden now - time to start feeding the tomatoes.

Hello kitchen people. OH has just gone to bed. He says he’s feeling a bit dizzy. It’s happened before.
We had an interesting weekend. Elder son and our granddaughter drove down yesterday and went back after lunch today. My younger son was not mentioned at all except when granddaughter asked if I had been cross when Uncle C bent the potato masher through over-enthusiastic mashing!

Good evening kitchen pals, it’s been a very warm day here in Cambridge - a couple of small white puffs of cloud but mainly sunshine. We’ve all just eaten a lovely warm chicken salad sat outside on the upstairs terrace and DD1 and SiL have just gone for an evening walk. DGSs are watching half an hour of tv before bed and I’m catching up on here

Evening Kitcheners. The storms haven't hit my neck of the woods and it's breezy. We did have half an hour of really oppressive weather earlier but it came to naught. I have been back to the garden centre and filled up baskets and pots. It just needs keeping on top of now. And lots of watering. I met a friend this afternoon for a blether and to give her a birthday present. Then I visited mum who was not particularly chatty so I only stayed for half an hour. I've had dinner- trout fillet and salad - and sat out for a while. Now I'm having a cuppa. Tomorrow is an early start so I'll be early to bed. I'm thinking of lots of you with worries. ❤️

Hi all, a shame you didn’t get there ann but if you’re not comfortable it’s not worth it, enjoy your meal.
Another warm day here down south, sadly no storms forecast, so it’s out with the hose. My daughter and grandson visited earlier to watch football, MrJ and I were happy with the play off results, second legs later in the week.
No luck in the meat draw again, I haven’t won for ages, MrJ has, but that’s not the point! Gammon in cider slow cooking away.
I hope all those visiting, days out or just at home have had a smashing day.

An early Good Afternoon to you all.
It is very warm here in Stockport after a beautiful day yesterday but already clouding over and I fear the threatened thunder storms will materialise.
I didn’t go out yesterday as planned.
I didn’t feel too good and didn’t fancy sitting in the heat and then eating Chinese food.
My friend was very understanding and as she had had the whole day working in her garden I think she was happy just to relax.
We shall rearrange soon.

My GD is getting ready to go to a gathering in a friend’s garden but I think it will be changed plans before long.

We have been into Stockport early to pick up my new glasses.
I am slightly concerned about them as I have a new prescription but also an altered left lens to balance the fact that I have very marginal peripheral vision in that eye, it’s a case of “ give them about 10 days” to get used to them.

A quick trip into Simply Food and lots of lovely salads and deli bits made it all worthwhile.
I have a fresh chicken to cook but they didn’t have Jersey Royals which surprised me.
However I am really looking forward to my meal later.

We quite often visit Anglesey Abbey nannytopsy whilst I’m in Cambridge but I don’t think we’re going this time - enjoy so your visit though I really like it there
I had a lovely day yesterday, I arrived by lunchtime and DD1 picked me up and whisked me off to a picnic in the park with some of DGSs pals. Gorgeous weather and everyone had a good time
I’m awake early as eldest DGS has just arrived at my bedroom asking to borrow my iPad 🤦‍♀️

Wide awake for too early thinking of the happy family time yesterday. I’m very proud of our teenagers, they demonstrated total patience with their young autistic cousin spending an hour charging round a park with him while we sat and watched.

Hope the weather holds for Anglesey Abbey nannyt. We love it although distance means a visit is a rare treat now. We had a day in Cambridge recently brook, we miss it. Hope you arrived safely.

While not Eurovision fans here we’ve watched Dr Who for many years and thoroughly enjoyed yesterdays offerings thanks to catch up. Couldn’t stay awake long enough to look for the Aurora, think the sun wore us out.

I’m so pleased the soops have had this wonderful weather for their weekend, hope it holds out for them.

Quiet day planned here, a package to collect, a coffee stop and maybe some garden pottering. A battle with British Gas on the cards for tomorrow which is definitely another day!

We have hit the time of year when there is so much to do! I think it was jax who had done plenty in the garden but no housework. It’s the same here! The forecast rain will give us a chance to catch up. We have DD and the little ones here so I have been holding the baby while DH keeps the toddler entertained. When they have gone, I shall have to clean all the interior doors as they are glass and covered with sticky fingerprints 🥰.
We are going to visit Anglesey Abbey tomorrow, then they will head home from there. Enjoy the last of the sunshine everyone.

I am not a fan of Dr. Who or Eurovision so I ended up in my lovely bed with fresh bedding before 10 pm. My witching hour is usually around midnight.

I think tomorrow may be the last day of this warm sunshine so the washing machine will be in overtime tomorrow. I hope my new neighbours do not have a BBQ as to date they have not bothered to warn me.

A day out these days is a trip to a hospital so I have one of those on Monday but later in the week lunch out with friends and the next day coffee out with more friends.

Another lovely day, I’m annoyed I missed the celestial display last night, according to the app I have there’s little chance tonight.
Anyway, herbs, lettuce and beetroot bought at the plant sale today, a happy allotment site, with drinks and cake.
We nipped to the local earlier and sat out while we can, there’s always someone to chat with, 35 years I’ve been going there.
Dr Who was brilliant, it meant we ate later though.
I hope you’ve all had a good day too.

Hello kitchen people! I do hope the Soops are having a splendid time. Perfect weather too.
OH had to whizz off to Windsor this afternoon to buy some bee things. In the meantime I prepared bread sauce and stuffing balls for tomorrow’s lunch and got the rooms ready for elder son and granddaughter who are arriving late afternoon. I ‘interviewed’ a cleaning lady just now. She will start on Monday.
Have a good evening. I will not be watching Eurovision - haven’t for years!

What a lovely weekend the Soops have chosen for their family reunion.
I am going to friend’s house later and we will sit in her beautiful garden and have glass of something white and chilled before we have a Chinese takeaway.
I was also out last night at a local Beefeater with my friend across the road.
The food was surprisingly good and as I had a voucher for 40% off food was a reasonably priced night (cheap) actually.
I hope as many of you as possible are able to take advantage of the weather, it may not last after today.

We’ve been planting too having opted out of TaiChi today, no time for both and the plants were screaming ‘plant me, plant me’. All I have to do now is persuade the slugs they would prefer supper next door .

Busy day for us tomorrow. Off for time with the family, it’s worth two motorways to enjoy everyone being together. We’re not a large group, 8 maximum, but goodness the difficulty in coordinating their busy schedules.

Hi kitchen pals, I’ve had another really busy day, one job led to another and I ended up sweeping and clearing out space in the garage as DD2 wants to store some boxes there whilst she’s moving. Then coffee with my pal which was a lovely afternoon spend chatting. I’m really looking forward to a relaxing few days away in Cambridge with DD1. I don’t know why I booked the 7am flight - probably as it was the cheapest 🤣 but I’m not looking forward to a really early start in the morning but at least I’ll be there by lunchtime

Today has been a glorious early summer day and I have enjoyed all of it - oldies’ coffee morning, tea in a friend’s lovely garden with wonderful views, and this evening a friend and I have marked our late DH’s recent birthdays by having dinner at an excellent local pub/restaurant. No cooking at all! The forecast for tomorrow is good for the village primary school’s duck race though we are likely to have thunder storms by Sunday so we must enjoy the sunshine while we can.

A proper warm day for us today - at last! 🌞 We had charge of GS, which was fun and exhausting in equal measure. He trotted all round town with us without complaint though his little legs were giving out towards the end and he went into a supermarket trolley without an argument. He seems to have taken on board manners and being polite because the lift in the car park and traffic lights all got thanked for their service. 😂

We sat in DD’s garden for a while when we took GS home. It’s been so long since we were able to do that. The sun is still shining now as we head towards sunset and hopefully another good day tomorrow.

Jax we’re going to a plant sale tomorrow, a local charity that has a garden and raises funds through selling plants. I’ve never been before so I have high hopes!

A proper nursery SueD, rare these days, my allotment friend and I are off to another allotment tomorrow where they’re selling surplus plants, I will attempt restraint.
It’s been gorgeous again, all day, I did picked up Imogen after her Biology exam, planted up another pot, talked to my veg seedlings and had the hose out to water, nil housework achieved. We’ve now got storms predicted for Sunday, that’ll save me a job.
Neighbours Nannytopsy, we have one side with dogs that most of the time are quiet, but if they start, take ages to stop, yorkies, with bows.
