Do you have any recommendations for great service e.g. solving problems with online orders, speed of delivery etc?
Today I ordered some dressmaking fabrics from Legend Textiles. My order was confirmed at 12.31pm and on its way at 12.51pm. Astonishing!

I would just add Smyth’s Toys. Only ordered for a Gdd’s birthday this morning - already had an email to say the courier has it. I’ve found them very quick before.
Plus the item was cheaper than from either Amazon or John Lewis.
I have to recommend Not Another Bunch of Flowers I ordered a personalised mug for my GD and it was delivered 36hrs later. It’s a great site that started with gifts for cancer patients but now does so much more. I have used them a number of times with excellent service.
SuperTinny what an inspirational story. And such a lovely ending.... You giving the spare dresses to such a wonderful charity.
I have to mention Royal Mail - for this at least! I use them a lot for Click and Drop, for the items I make for a service that distributes them to children’s therapists all over the U.K.
Postman collects the parcels for free and in virtually every case they have arrived - from SW London to rural E Yorks - the very next day.

The reason Amazon is able to provide such fast service is their appalling treatment of their warehouse staff and drivers. I’d rather wait an extra day or so for my items and know that the people responsible for getting them to me have had lunch and bathroom breaks.
I know two people who work for Amazon.
One is in the warehouse, he has no complaints.
One is on a zero hours delivery contract: he can log in to see what 4-hour slots are available, fixed fee paid, and choose when to work.
Once he turned up at the depot to be told he wasn't needed after all, but they still paid him.
Amazing service from Mint Velvet a few years ago whilst sourcing a bridesmaid dress for my daughters wedding.
A long story but it needs context.........
She had set her heart on a particular colour of pale grey. We were not seriously bridesmaid dress shopping on this occasion but without expecting to we stumbled across a sale rail in a department store with a Mint Velvet concession. We homed in, from different directions, to a lovely chiffon grey dress with cream trim. They were priced at £38 (reduced from £150.....yes you read that correctly).
We quickly texted the three bridesmaids to ask for sizes and because we didn't get a response right away I suggested we just buy the four dresses in the three sizes they had. At that price I wasn't going to worry too much and thought I could off load one at the local dress exchange.
A few days later in another town and store I saw another (by now reduced to £25). Better be safe than sorry I thought and decided to buy it! We now had 5 dresses in three sizes, and with slow responses from the bridesmaids, I was pretty sure we could cover the range of sizes required!
Some months later we managed to get all the bridesmaids in one place to try on a dress. Straight away I could see my lovely niece had put on some weight. My daughter and I exchanged a glance and knew she would need a size larger than we had. My niece put on a brave face but I could see she was upset when she realised the largest size (which she had declared would fit) was just a bit too snug on her top half. There was another six months to the wedding and she said she was determined to lose the weight. I, on the other hand was trying to work out if I could let out a seam or two.
Wanting to be prepared and cover all eventualities I went online to search for a dress. I then found myself messaging Mint Velvet on their website (at 8pm one evening) to ask if any of their stores or concessions might have a particular size in the dress. We are now 4 months on from the buying the heavily discounted dresses, which had been at full price two seasons before.
Amazingly I had an immediate response with a promise to phone around and find out. They said they would phone me the next day with any information.
Sure enough at about midday I had a call. They had found a dress in the required size in a stock room of one of their shops in Kent. It had a small make-up stain on the inside lining of the bodice, because of that I could have it for £20 (no postage), did I still want it? (yes!) and did I want to pay over the phone?
It arrived the next day (less than 48 hours after my initial enquiry) beautifully packaged with pink tissue paper in a dress box tied with ribbon. There was a lovely hand written card wishing my daughter best wishes for her wedding.
I couldn't praise them enough and made sure I let them know of their excellent service.
In the end my niece never needed the larger size! and I gave away the three dresses we didn't use to a local charity that provides wedding dresses and outfits etc. to brides who, in the saddest of circumstances have to arrange a hasty wedding due to family or their own illnesses.
I’ve recently used a business off Etsy called BusyBakes and had a box of scrumptious brownies delivered to my friends for their wedding anniversary and they rang me to say thank you having received their postal brownies the next day.
I am full of praise for the talk talk*customer service agent who dealt with me last week. I wanted to renew my broadband contract. Importantly, I wished to arrange a less expensive deal. I also wished to cancel a couple of items on my existing contract. The *talk talk*agent was incredibly helpful and kind, speaking clearly and slowly because I am deaf. He found me a perfect package at exactly the price I wished to pay. Without argument he cancelled the items I no longer required. At the outset of the conversation I was feeling quite stressed but this lovely gentleman soon dispelled the stress. By the time the call ended I felt such a sense of relief to have everything sorted out so easily. I'm so grateful to that gentleman as, being deaf, sometimes conducting business over the phone can be a nightmare. Top marks *talk talk
Legend Footwear. Ordered a pair of well known brand shoes and as I hoped to use them quickly I paid £1.99 for next day delivery. Confirmed order 5.50 pm, parcel arrived mid morning next day. Couldn't believe it. The shoes were £24 cheaper than from brand store.
I ordered a battery replacement from Apple for my iPhone - I was sent secure packaging for it, posted it, was kept informed and it was returned with new battery within 48 hours! 👍😎
Lovely to hear all these positive comments.
The dreaded Amazon are pretty good! I never pay for delivery but items always arrive the next day. However, it turns out one of their enormous depots is only 20 minutes away.
JLP are pretty good too.
My Evri guy is good and always efficient and friendly.
I had to return some jewellery I had ordered from Sif Jakobs. Took it to the PO Wed pm and had a message from Sif Jakobs to say they had received the parcel first thing Thursday morning and would refund the money immediately. Excellent service from both PO and Sif Jakobs.
A company called “So Simply Robell”. I buy trousers from them and the speed of delivery is amazing 👍👍👍
Last week I ordered a new upright freezer, my existing one having 'died'. Delivery promised in 3/4 days - quite a shock to have a text the day after ordering to say it would be delivered that day!
Regarding Evri - I am lucky to have an excellent Courier, always comes the day promised and on time. The only time I had a problem was when she was off with a broken leg - parcel never arrived and was never found!!
I too had not heard of this company but had a look and ordered. Such lovely fabrics. I do a lot of patchwork quilting for charity so this is a good site for me. Have just heard my order is on it’s way!

I'm persistently asking for a thumbs-up and thumbs-down link under postings. To no avail.
Can't be difficult as most review links and blogs have them.
No. Wouldn't it be demoralising if all you got were 👎 when you thought your post was well-researched, erudite and witty!

Well done to the Passport Office. We renewed our passports recently, filled in on line, took our own photos and sent the old ones back as requested.
Completed online applications for me and DH on the Monday. Passports arrived on the Friday same week.
Also we were kept informed by text message throughout the process.
Excellent service from this much maligned government agency.
I agree! I took my passport application and old passport to the post office here in the village, paid for signed for delivery. This was on Thursday. By the following Tuesday ! I had my old passport back, and my new one followed on a day or so later. Just over a week from start to finish. Excellent service
Plusnet and Octopus Energy, their Customer Service has been second to none. I have felt like shooting myself with the Customer Service, or rather the lack of it from Talk Talk and Co op energy.

I ordered cream and deodorant from Savers...I've used them before....one hour later they emailed me to say my order had been shipped..Evri is delivering today,
also I have to say that Master of Malt are brilliant,,,I order one day and get it the next...
I ordered turmeric supplement from Amazon in the morning and it was delivered that same afternoon.
My Evri driver Michael is excellent. I'm pleased to say I have never had a problem with them.
Hopefully I haven't jinxed it.
Another thumbs up for plusnet. BT took 2 weeks to sort new WiFi when I moved. On the day they were due to "sort the line" nothing! I calked and they had cancelled my order despite taking my money for the router which never got delivered. I refused to rebook and wait, asked for a refund and called plusnet. Next day router arrived, engineer was up the poke sorting the cabling and they were £5 cheaper. Been with them 3+ years now, no issues and still good value. Also octopus energy kept my monthly payments at a reasonable level and keep me informed regularly about prices etc
