Just been listening to the Welsh National Anthem on Utube. In Welsh, of course. Thinking of some of my ancestors from North Wales in the nineteenth century, what a wonderful anthem. Can’t beat the Welsh choirs.
What music makes you emotional?
Have to admit there are quite a few pieces for me.

Metallica- Nothing Else Matters Dream On- Aerosmith. When my husband died we had a church funeral for his family. These songs were two of his favourites, and they were my goodbye to him at the crematorium.

Remember When by Alan Jackson. Our son made a beautiful DVD of our lives for our Golden Wedding and this is the soundtrack, I love it but cry buckets.

Trelawny, also known as the Cornish National Anthem. Best heard when sung by a crowd of Cornish people wherever they're gathered.

Supermarket Flowers by Ed Sheeran. It's about losing your Mum and it's absolutely shattering to listen to. My Mum died over 30 years ago, but when I first heard this song a few weeks ago it had me bawling. It's so very poignant.
In the Living Years by Mike and the Mechanics is another song that chokes me up - it was released when my Mum died and I couldn't listen to it without crying.

The Carnival is Over by The Seekers.
Morning Has Broken, Cat Stevens. Always liked it but reduces me to tears now as it was played at mum's funeral.

Time After Time by Cyndi Lauper. My DH and DDs know that I want it played at my funeral as it sums up how I feel about them and how I will always be there when they need me. The Eva Cassidy version is beautiful too.

True Love by Bing Crosby and Grace Kelly. My Dad loved Bing, and when he was in his last few months in a care home I used to take him to the room with a piano and would ask him to play this (one of his favourites). Several of the care home staff would gather in the doorway and listen with tears in their eyes and on one occasion my daughter, who was with me when we visited, had tears streaming down her face as she had never seen her grandad play the piano before. I'm welling up thinking of it even now.
