Its so depressing. Will it improve? I do hope so.

Urmstongran Fri 24-May-24 08:40:17

Wet & chilly here in the NW of England but tomorrow we are promised sunshine and 16°C. The ‘best day’ however for the BH weekend so no great hopes for Sunday and Monday. Another washout most probably.

NotSpaghetti Fri 24-May-24 08:43:55

We have 18⁰ predicted on Saturday but lots of cloud.
😕

Cossy Fri 24-May-24 08:52:53

We woke up to sun in Essex 🥳🥳🥳 But this one day sun, three days rain is driving me nuts!

tanith Fri 24-May-24 08:54:17

It’s not too bad here in London sunny spells between clouds but Sun and Mon look awful.

Redhead56 Fri 24-May-24 09:07:57

Last week I got my summer dresses washed and hung them out to dry in the sun. I put them on the ironing board for ironing ready to be worn. They are still there because I have been too busy getting my woollies out from the vacuum bags I put them in!

Still in thermals and wellies in the North East 🥶

MiniMoon Fri 24-May-24 09:39:33

I don't think it's raining at the moment, but when the cat came earlier in he was drenched. I'm in South west Northumberland. Showers expected with a high of 13°. Not terribly exciting.

RosiesMaw Fri 24-May-24 09:40:56

Even when it is sunny the temperature rarely rises above the teens - so Spring but far from summer.
Not holding out much hope for “flaming June” either!

Jaxjacky Fri 24-May-24 09:59:49

It’s been very wet down south too, today is forecast dry, sunny intervals, 17, our family bbq on Sunday is showery, high of 18. I’m back in a light jumper.

Nuff said

Chocolatelovinggran Fri 24-May-24 11:03:31

I'm glad that I bought a new raincoat a few months ago. It's been very busy..

North Manchester - 10 degrees and raining

It’s awful, I lit the wood burner last night

M0nica Fri 24-May-24 11:15:52

Miserable, I feel quite low. looking at the garden, thinking 'I need to garden' - but it is cold and windy - and I feel the cold and have Raynauds syndrome.

zakouma66 Fri 24-May-24 11:19:58

Sorry to hear that M0nica, any low mood is not helped by the weather. And in fact it can cause it.
Not easy.

Iam64 Fri 24-May-24 13:33:27

Same here Monica. I wa;led the dog without gloves yesterday - reynaud’s reminded me what a mistake that was

GrannyGravy13 Fri 24-May-24 13:36:22

My mood definitely mirrors the weather.

Today started out sunny and warm, it’s now cloudy and the clouds are getting darker.

Another garden here that desperately needs some attention.

Ziplok Fri 24-May-24 14:48:09

Slightly warmer here today than yesterday and a lot drier, but so very grey and dull.
Even going to the fridge to take out some veg triggered my raynauds yesterday 😲. I’m sick of this miserable weather.

BlueBelle Fri 24-May-24 14:52:33

Lovely here the last couple of days sunny a bit windy but blue skies that’s east coast

leeds22 Fri 24-May-24 14:58:17

Dreadful downpour all day on Wednesday, with the roads flooded in my bit of N Yorkshire. Damp on Thursday but today I've managed to get the bedding dry outside. It's only about 15 C in the middle of the day and we are back to putting the heating on for an hour morning and evening and wearing warm clothes. Fed up with it.

downtoearth Fri 24-May-24 14:58:46

I feel better now I have a fence that needs painting and some TLC,its either raining ,or the wood is too wet,and I am a fair weather outside person.
But also hate the heat, fickle,me,nooogrin

I am absolutely sick and fed up with the weather. Rain, rain and more rain. Piles of bath sheets and bedding to wash, hedges growing rapidly too wet to cut, we are all going to be vitamin D deficient without the sun, I have started taking vitamin D capsules.

I remember the 50's and 60's, winter was winter, spring was spring, summer was summer and autumn was autumn, every day is mixed up now.

I don't quite remember the 50's but yes I remember proper seasons.
