Good question. I think i have (due to circumstances) lost a lot of optimism for our future. Rather than look forward with hope and anticipation, i look with trepidation. Therefore i would say my 'youthful' optimism has deserted me and that saddens me.
However, i/we do try our best to enjoy the moment, mix with different age groups, explore new ideas and yes, i do visit the hairdresser regularly, occasionally splurge on clothes other than stuff for dog walking and over this weekend got mistaken for my eldest GS's Mum!!
So in general terms, whilst i still feel 'young', my knee's, my hands and other things i cannot control conspire to slap me around the chops and remind me that i am no longer 27 x
