Dd is always very canny with 2nd hand finds, but I think even she’s surpassed herself this time!

Birthday present for little Gds’ close friend, who apparently badly wanted such a thing. Dd found this for £6 - it costs £60 new!

Well done Dd! Not only she did find a bargain but also a recycled present that will give great pleasure.

My DGSs would love that - both dinosaur mad.

You can buy an inflatable 6ft T-Rex, Just the thing for kids parties.

I could just imagine D3’s reaction - and it would not have been favourable!
Her pet hate is what she refers to as “plastic tat” - although she might just make allowances if it was bought in a charity shop grin

Great to find such a bargain, especially when it’s on someone’s wish list.
For £6 I’d have bought it too, but for school.

Is it one of the walking ones?

Fantastic!

How kind of your daughter to think of her little one's friend smile.
Bet it turns out to be the favourite pressie!

GrannyGravy13 Mon 17-Jun-24 09:29:09

That would have given me Granny points with the GSs

Such a lovely find, my grandson would have loved it to, well worth every penny especially to see the delight on little ones face when received.

It’s unfortunately the case that such items don’t come in eco-friendly wood.
It’s usually only when they’re very little that you can buy toys children actually like, that aren’t plastic.
2nd hand is the relatively planet-friendly alternative.

True.

My dinosaur mad GD would love that! I often look for preloved toys for her to keep at my place for when she stays. Best buys were a lovely wooden kitchen for £8 (even matches the colour scheme in the children’s room!) and a huge wooden train set for £19. We usually call into a few of the charity shop every week and nearly always find something. Last week it was a 50p fairy tale book. Wonder what it will be next!

I do love a bargain. Well done xxx

Recycling, well done, though, wouldn't fancy trying to wrap it.

rafichagran Mon 17-Jun-24 18:38:42

What a great fond for a dinosaur loving child. That will be one lucky birthday boy.
I sm the same I am canny with gifts and bargains.

rafichagran Mon 17-Jun-24 18:39:25

Silvery for the typos I am shattered, busy day.

Deedaa Mon 17-Jun-24 18:40:48

I would have loved that so much when I was a child.

rafichagran Mon 17-Jun-24 18:41:22

Oh God another typo, also assumed maybe wrongly that it was for a boy.

I bought a wooden doll’s house and furniture for all of its rooms for under £20. To buy it and the contents new would have cost £hundreds and it is all cleaned and wrapped up in the loft for when the DG is old enough to play with it. Truly a bargain and the shop lady said it had only just been dropped off by a donor so it was a lucky find. She had expected it to fly off the shelf.

It’s lovely to find new & pre loved items , especially when they have been well looked after .
My Grandchildren have been the lucky recipients of many fabulous finds from Barbie Dolls & Star Wars to Dolls Houses , books & puzzles .
On the trial again for our Great Grandchildren 🙏

Thank you Witzend for bringing the first smile 😃 of the day to my face. The last thing I expected to see was a dinosaur!

As it is plastic it should live for millions of years in many happy homes and playgroups 👍

That's a bargain. Last week I bought a Joules sweatshirt type top for £3. It's like new and looks as though it's never been worn. It definitely hasn't been washed. I wore it at the weekend and a few friends commented, saying how nice it was.

Sasta Wed 19-Jun-24 09:31:30

My granddaughter loves hers. They walk and roar and I think the eyes light up red, though it hasn’t been out much lately. Maybe another charity shop donation soon.
