Nick Hornby is a good author, and I recommend him to anyone who has not come across his work.

Deliberately pushing alternative views off a thread is not recommended to anyone interested in fairness or democracy.

^Do the thing you don’t want to do first of all (my grandmother)^

I few weeks ago I was feeling a bit down.
I couldnt work out why.

It dawned on me it was because I had put off about 7 things.
I promptly went and did them all.

That so resonates with me, too.

From the top of the tree you can look down on others. You see faces looking up at you. What do they see?
An arsehole.

This is excellent.

The version I know is 'The higher a monkey climbs a tree, the more he shows his arse'.

I like yours better though.

But doing so without meaning to cause hurt but merely in an attempt to defuse a volatile situation is forgivable?
