My daughter and SiL had their return flight from Menorca cancelled (BA) 10 days before they flew out. They had to come home a day early as they had work commitments so couldn't stay on for an extra day.

Very disappointing when you wait a long time for a holiday and then find it's cut short through no fault of your own.

BA are beginning to look like the Ryanair of scheduled airlines.

What a shame you couldn't stay the extra day... But there is something odd going on with BA?
We had an email notification from BA in May that our flights and hotel package in Portugal (for the beginning of Sept) has been changed.
The return flight completely cancelled, so they planned to send us to Madrid, leave in the morning wait around for several hours then back to Gatwick, a complete waste of a day as it would take ages to get back to Gatwick.
So we didn't get much option as they have given us advance notice.

Then about 4 weeks ago we got an other email to say the flight from Madrid was also cancelled!
That's twice now, after a phone call from us they have had to supply us with an extra night in our hotel and returning a day later from original planned airport in Portugal at no extra cost. So it's worked out well as we get an extra night and almost extra day as we don't have to leave early morning now.

An unfortunate coincidence I think, assuming you went around the 10th, the notification to your husband about the 3rd. England had just got through to the quarter finals, so unless BA have a crystal ball.
