Latin for 'self-preservation'?

A strange question, but does anyone know a Latin phrase that means 'the things we do to ensure the continuation of the species', please? Not so much the preservation of the self, but of humankind.

If there's not a Latin one, an English phrase would do, if it's snappier than my definition grin

This translates to "concerns for the perpetuation of the species," capturing the essence of actions taken to ensure the continuation and survival of the species.

Thank you, but I'm really looking for a phrase that is in (relatively) common parlance. Plus, I don't know if there are nuances I'm missing when using a translator.

I don't want to go into too much detail, as the chances are someone will google it and this thread could come up, but it's for the title of something.
