Good Morning Thursday 25th July 2024

Good morning from a dull Suffolk. The roads around us will be very busy today as the festival Latitude begins today. Henham estate where it is held is only about a mile from us and,depending on the direction of the wind,we can hear the music from our front door step,the boom,boom boom always audible.

I’m off to my stretch class shortly which involves driving down the road past several entrances. I hope I’m ahead of the visitors.

Had a really lovely meet up with Gingster yesterday,sitting outside in the warm weather drinking coffee and eating cake. We chatted happily for well over 2 hours and I’m already looking forward to our next get together.

Hope today is the best it can be for all.

My dog bitten hand is still mighty sore after a week. My friends tell me I should have reported the "dangerous" dog.
The vet knows, as does the owner so I hope that will do.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a grey, damp South Yorkshire. Dare I say I feel slightly better this morning and hope I’ll have a bit more energy. Just changing the linen on my bed yesterday wiped me out! I did nothing for most of the day. Sleep was fitful last night, thought I heard my phone go off but I must have been dreaming it.
We used to call in at Monmouth or Usk for coffee and a stretch of the legs on the way down to see DH’s family in South Wales. Some very pretty country around there.

Good morning all from a grey Severnside. This afternoon looks more promising.
We often did a Wye Valley drive on a Sunday when we were courting. Sometimes we took DH grandmother.

Yesterday I cut back some shrubs on my boundary and moved my waterbutt. I’ve got to resign the connection onto the greenhouse.

This morning I’m off out so have rescheduled my parcel delivery for tomorrow.

Today DD1 and family are going home, it’s been a lovely busy few days and I hope they’ve all had a good time. I’ve no time to tackle the mountain of washing yet though, as soon as I’ve dropped them off at the airport we’re driving up to Invergordon. One of my stepsons and family are on the Caribbean Princess cruise ship that’s calling into Invergordon today, so we’re going to meet them for a quick catch up whilst they’re so nearby.

Good morning everyone from an overcast Northampton, but it is supposed to brighten up later.

A busy day yesterday catching up on several household.jobs, then after lunch cut the back grass and tidied up some roses and other overgrown stuff and weeds.

Have decided on a trip to Milton Keynes today; I have a t-shirt bought from M&S a couple of weeks ago which feels a bit big, so would like to try on a smaller one. I still have vouchers to spend too! Need to get a bus just after 9am, so must start getting ready soon.

Good morning from an overcast W Kent. Yesterday’s visit to a cafe at a local farm shop turned out to be a find and has gone on our list for places to have a snack. The driving through narrow lanes was a bit over exciting but we managed
Today is last art group until September. I know some would like to just keep going but I think a little break is probably a good thing it can get a bit like being at school.

I cut back the tomato jungle in the greenhouse yesterday and pulled some beetroot which I’ll cook today, being careful not staining everything, including me, red.
Then I’ve got some online bits to sort out and must tidy up two now fading hanging baskets, in between the predicted showers.

Good morning from Naples where it is set to reach 33°C today. It’s hot but a lot cooler than Malta.

Had a lovely day yesterday with lunch at a restaurant by the sea. Such a beautiful setting and so lovely to be with my dear niece.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 16° and has been raining. Baubles I hope your DH is ok and you can have a nap. Thank you all for your kind words on my typo yesterday! I'm proof reading today very carefully.
Yesterday I pottered about the house and garden. I blethered to my neighbour who had very kindly painted my side of the small fence which divides our front gardens.
Today I will walk to Aldi for milk and potatoes. I might go to the local garden centre for weedkiller to put down on the gravel and outside my fence. Dinner will be gammon and cauliflower cheese. I think the forecast is for showers so it might be another pottering day plus I had an awful night's sleep, so I'm quite tired. Have a good day all.

Good morning everyone from a grey and damp mid Essex. It has obviously rained in the night, but not very much. I woke up at 4.30 this morning, no doubt will feel sleepy after lunch.
I’m planning to go into the nearest town this morning to drop off some books to a charity shop, then to leave a set of car keys with the garage so they can sort out my car next week while I’m at DD1’s looking after the Ddog.
GM I love Monmouth, we used to visit when staying n the Forest of Dean.

Straight after breakfast I am collecting my latest print which I’ve had framed. This is the one I saw on the Summer Exhibition website and ordered before it sold out. There were only 12 prints. We will then have much re-jigging of pictures!

At lunchtime it is my village book group. We meet in the village cafe.

DH had his knee replacement surgery yesterday and it went well apparently. When I saw him last night the post operative pain hadn’t kicked in although he had been warned to expect it. Hoping he managed to get some sleep. I’ve only managed three hours, going to make tea then try to doze.

Good morning from a misty Monmouth - actually a village bizarrely called “Michael Troy”. The view from the cottage is gorgeous is there is no cloud.
We left late (quelle surprise) and drove to Tintern. DD and DS had decided on a riverside walk which would take “one hour” before having lunch; that was before Iris decided to make herself as unpleasant as possible. Yes, she was sad about leaving primary school, but, goodness, it wasn’t our fault and did she really have to be so horrible?
We finally had lunch at nearly 3pm. I was very hungry having breakfasted at 730am. DS and I had a brief tour of the abbey. I found it disappointing and am convinced that its fame is due to Wordsworth’s poem rather than its actual beauty. The siting is very beautiful.
Home for a cuppa then off the Monmouth proper for dinner. The pub that had been chosen hadn’t been booked and was full. DGD found a “Lounge” nearby which is where we ate. Nice food, but it was getting very late. DD and I went to the supermarket for breakfast stuff while the other four (DS, DGS and the two girls) were packed off home. They went “the scenic route” and got back some time after us!
The cottage is an old cider barn, I believe; very beautifully sited and perfect for our needs.
Hereford and the Mappa Mundi today I think…

Good morning from gray and chilly south Glos, hoping for sunshine today but I think drizzle is forecast.
I had a lovely time at afternoon tea with my friend yesterday, there were 9 of us enjoying chatting in her lovely garden.
I spent an hour yesterday morning hacking back the cotoneaster under the front window, not easy! It does look better now. I will gradually work my way around the front borders of my small garden, it gets full sun so it’s too warm to do more than a bit at a time.
Slept badly because my neck is playing me up and now my right hip has joined in 🙄🤬
I did wonder if I need a new mattress but tis one is only 2 years old and was a Which best buy……🤷🏼‍♀️
Anyway, off to Stitch club this afternoon, looking forward to it!
