Is it odd to not want any family photos on display?

NotSpaghetti that’s so lovely.

And yes, one or two really wonderful photos have much more of an impact than 10 or 15 all over the place ( to me obviously, everyone has their own taste )

I don't have any up "on show" at all.
I have one of my husband in the bedroom taken probably 20 years ago. He has a very relaxed and gentle smile in it which I think was what drew me to him all those years ago.

It's a particular type of smile which i know is full of love but not his "everyday" smile. I just printed one day "on a whim". I've never seen that smile in any other photos over nearly 50 years.

I have a small one of my children when they were about two and four. It's in a frame on the bottom shelf of the TV unit. I also have one of my late father on the mantel shelf in the dining room. That's it.

I dont display them as I see them quite often and dont see the point in displaying a photo of when they were younger.

Up to the individual .

I've just taken most of my photos down and I'm having a rethink
decor-wise .
I've long since put my dust gathering ornaments away .

Not odd at all. I do not have any photos on show, but I do have albums in the garage.

A mixture of a few from different generations dotted here and there. I like to look at them as I pass buy or sit and ponder.

Not odd at all. I have a very few on display but I don't like walls full of them.

Albums are fine

I have quite a few scattered around of our family and grandchildren and our wedding photo. But thousands in photo albums from the 1940's onwards to recent times of all our family.

When I walk past a photo of my late husband and I when we were young in the 60's, I still get butterflies in my stomach as he was such a handsome young man. Gosh I loved him.

I have a few photos on display but not many. On the other hand, photos of my DD and SiL and their children are all over their house. They are the main form of decoration there.

I have loads in albums and on all the walls mostly the grandkids and they love it

I said I thought I would repaint and go more minimalistic and the grandkids were oh Nan please dont please leave us all there ( they re all grown up but they love my photo walls )

Everyone’s different

We have loads and loads all over the house mainly of the grandchildren over the years but I do have a corner for previous generations. I love looking at them in the evening. The one person I don't have any of is myself as I hate having my photo taken and always look far worse than I imagine I do!

I have 3 pics in my dining room (my dad, father in law and grandma all died many years ago) my adult daughter came to visit with her mother in law last year so I put up a pic of her taken on her first day at nursery.
My in laws have so many pics of their children all over their houses.
I know what my children look like and with social media and phones I can see pics of them everyday if I want to
Oh I do have one of my wedding pics in the living room

I only have three. One of GC in bedroom. One forty year old one of four of us on a hill walk. One wedding couple. Not photo mad actually but the young ones insist on sending masses almost daily. Don't understand this but...hey...

Not odd at all. I’m the same. Lots of albums etc just not on display.

I do have family photos on display but mainly old ones. The photos that give me most pleasure these days are all the ones taken in last 8 years. They are on my iPad and so regularly flash up, different ones every day and often following a theme, like portraits of one person or pictures of dinner parties.

I have a couple of photos on a chest of drawers in my bedroom - parents and son, none in the main living areas of my house.

That's about it really..friends do seem to have displays etc

I have a lovely family, 4 children, 4 grandchildren, I’m just not into having photos of them all over the place. In fact, I don’t have any.
Lots of albums full of photos that I look through from time to time, but that’s it.

Just interested in other people’s opinions as I’m beginning to think I’m the only one like this.
