Good afternoon from a sunny and dry East Midlands.

Good morning all. What busy happy lives you all have! The sunshine works wonders on our spirits, doesn't it.
Yesterday was absolutely glorious here - something that doesn't happen very often here with our proximity to the North Sea. I tootled down to Broughty Ferry, car windows down - it was a joy.
Met DGD3 and her boyfriend for a lovely - late - lunch. They've been told by our LA family that they can go over there any time "and if we're not there, you can just use the house". So the saving towards next year's holiday begins, lucky young people.
Today is a little cooler, and cloudy, so a housework day methinks, and the ironing board calleth. Mind you, so does the bench beside the pond 😉. We'll see which one calls the loudest.
I have diligently read all your posts but seem to have brain fog today because I can't remember who has done what and if I go back I'll lose my post, so I shan't comment. I'll just say that that cruise up the Thames sounds heavenly, and the antics of all the young grandchildren bring back so many memories of happy busy times. Love the photo of the baby plaice Mizuna.

Glammagran, saw the pictures of the bike meet on a town Fb page, looked exciting - nothing like that ever happened when I was.growing up there back in the dark ages (1950s)!

My brother was in the area this weekend, visiting my sister, who is in a care home in the next town. He has charge of her affairs, as he has POA, and needed to buy her a new tv. I managed to have a few words with her, as he put her on his phone, and we exchanged photos.

Good morning from a beautiful morning in Oxfordshire.

Yesterday MrOops said ‘let’s take one of the little cars out for a meander’ so with hood down off we set, all I can say is, if you are ever in the vicinity of Chilton Foliat ( no I hadn’t heard of it either) go to the Wheatsheaf, lovely friendly lads in the bar and kitchens and their manager who let us use their car park whilst we waited for the RAC, excellent Sunday roast as well. Anyway we got home early evening……thanks to the RAC as well.

Today we will just enjoy a sit down in the garden. Any doubts MrOops had of selling that particular car have now gone. Garage for it later this week and then it’s awayyyyy……

Yesterday was a lazy day, just read and watched TV until DD rang from Brussels. She was sitting on her terrace while her DH was indoors watching the Belgian grand prix. She told me about her holiday plans, next weekend they are coming over to London for the proms and then they are going to Provence.
My elder sister is going to visit this afternoon after she has been shopping.

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it 16°C.
What a busy thread today!

I am exhausted after my weekend away in Edinburgh, my R.A has flared up because I overdid things as usual. Not wanting to spoil things for my family, I just tried to keep going. They had no idea how much I was struggling, I'm very good at covering up.

We had lots of travel difficulties yesterday. The train to Glasgow took us on a route I have never been on before, however it only added to the adventure -- and the journey time.-- I did wave to you GMB, as we passed through Polmont!
After changing stations in Glasgow, , we eventually had to get a train to Paisley, as there were no trains for hours on our line. DH had the bright idea of then getting the bus home.
Unfortunately, two didn't appear, despite being displayed on the board as due He was adamant that they were coming , despite me saying that the electronic board tends to lie. (DH hasn't been on a bus for years,) My heart sank, when I heard someone saying that the third one had also been cancelled. However, I had forgotten how friendly people here are on buses, the banter made the hassle more bearable.

When we eventually got home, we discovered that a previously smug DD, who had managed to get a train before us, was actually on a bus. Their train only got so far, then they had to change to a replacement bus service. 😁 The irony was that the bus we eventually got, terminated in her village! Serves her right for not listening to her mother's advice.
It was a bit of a magical mystery tour, but I actually enjoyed the adventure.

I'm off to Mass this morning, I need a catch up with the P.P. some issues have cropped, which I don't want to put in an email. After that I shall potter in the garden.
As usual, I will procrastinate and avoid doing the very complicated parish rotas, which are due. I have avoidance issues.🤣

Not so far Jaxjacky! I've had to mediate between two fights already. Dgs1 winds up his wee brother who reacts. Dgs2 refused to wear blue socks put out for him but was happy with the blue socks on the washing pile. They were exactly the same socks. 😂 Ten minutes until we leave for soft play

Good morning Mick and everyone from bright Carlisle. We're not getting prolonged spells of hot sun here. However, I did get to sit outside for a while with my afternoon coffee and expose my pallid legs to the sun. They're disgracefully pale for the end of July!
In the morning I went for a walk in the park. Whilst strolling along a wooded side of the Pond, I caught a sudden flash of bright metallic blue whizzing past. It could only have been a kingfisher, something I haven't seen in this country since I was a teenager. It's certainly good territory for it...lots of branches overhanging the water which is full of little fish. I must take my binoculars down and creep carefully about another time.
More excitement watching the Olympics as I watched Andy Murray and Adam Peaty competing, the latter sadly losing out on gold by what looked only his fingernails! I also loved seeing the wonderful Simone Biles, a simply amazing performer.

Today the usual Monday morning round of laundry and housework. This afternoon, I should be out in the garden, there are still plants to go in and peas to pick. To be followed by reading my book.

Have to take DGD1 to the train and “supervise” the gardener later but an easy day after a busy one yesterday. Handbell concert in church went well - it’s an amazingly skilful art and I would be hopeless - and the tea and cake in the interval went down well. DGD1 was a great help and a chatty success. Asked a friend to join us for supper and a little swimming watching. I was outraged to hear the radio headline just now to say that Adam Peaty’s silver medal was a disappointment. No, it wasn’t, and the headline was cruel,

Good morning from Sefton. Day 2 of summer🌝. Achieved a lot yesterday. Can I do the same today? Will start with the ironing. A huge pile to be done after yesterday’s washathon. Then a bit more garden tidying. This afternoon we need to visit a local town that actually still has an open bank branch. Will also do a food shop whilst we are there. About to run out of battery so will return later to catch up.

Good morning all and what lovely weather we’re all having.
I had a bad nights sleep and was reading at 3am but the new book wasn’t conducive to helping me relax and drift off. Very unsettling!

We travelled back to Essex yesterday and the journey was good.
Nice to be home but missing the sea. Our neighbour came over to tell us another neighbour had died . She had been very ill after a stroke last winter, so a happy release for her. 🙏

Today I have my Chimes group and we will sit in our leaders garden under the trees beside the pond. How lovely! I hope her neighbours think so too 🤨.
Then I’ll go to DD’s to see how the land lies with her. Poor girl is still struggling.

I have a busy week and need to shop sometime but we’ll have to make do. I’ll have the car so DH won’t be able to help. He’ll spend most of his time enjoying the Olympics. 👍

Good morning from another beautiful sunny Suffolk. Last night was so warm that neither DH nor I slept well so a quiet day ahead I think.

DD1 and family were delayed in their journey home last evening and arrived at Bristol airport after 2am. DGD2 starts a life guarding course at 7.30am! These youngsters cope so well with their busy lives. We just sit back and enjoy their activities secondhand!

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Spent a long time in the sand dunes yesterday and I know
a little narrow track through the extensive undergrowth, hard to navigate, on to the beach. Wellies required as it’s deep, muddy and just a few planks to help. I sat and read with not a soul for miles, very peaceful.

Today my sister from London arrives, so a roast chicken which I have overcooked🙄 and really looking forward to seeing her.

Good morning from the riverbank at Cookham. We've been here since Saturday and plan to motor up to Henley today. The river gets very busy over the weekend, hopefully less so today.
The weather has been lovely and we have done lots of walking and had some nice meals in local pubs.

Good morning all it's another sunny day here in the Black country, washing on making the most of it bedding was washed and ironed and put away yesterday.
DH needs to get a new tyre has found a nail in nearside front, possibly could be repaired but would prefer a new one.

My hand is much better but I'm still on antibiotics. I had a tetanus injection and will have another next month.

I sent the dog owner a lengthy article about why we shouldn't be adopting Street dogs from Romania. I know the dog is being treated by the vet for sore paws and the owner is aware of the unpredictable behaviour.

Good morning everyone it’s quite hot already here on the east coast of Fife with hotter weather to come today again . I’ve got my bedroom fan on
I bought a long standing one from Curry’s it was quite inexpensive and it’s a real godsend.

Fried mushrooms with a fried egg today for breakfast with toast and marmalade, fresh orange juice and a glass of water.

It will be a quiet day watching the Olympics on tv

Good morning from a glorious South Downs. The seagulls have been up since just after 4 with the first glimmer of light. The fledglings have mostly fledged - so another year completed for them.

Temperature due to get into middle 20s+ today so will finish what I need to do early, then relax and enjoy the summer sun.
