I am a woman and I want women only spaces.

As long as there is a door that closes or a curtain that pulls to give some privacy in clothing shops I really don’t mind it being gender neutral. Lots of negative opinions on Primark. No Primark near me and I’d love one! Times change and unfortunately we need to change with them.

Yes, I get that and I have done the same at work! We had five loos in a row, all lockable with the sinks inside, which I must say I much prefer. Two were gender neutral, two were women’s, one was men, all totally identical!

I thought they had changed that disgusting policy, evidently not. So many of their customers are young females but quite irrespective of age, nobody born with a penis should be in female-only spaces. It’s absolutely abhorrent. I vowed never to shop in Primark when their vile woke policy was exposed a while ago (sorry I don’t remember when). But I think even eg John Lewis will allow anyone into female spaces if that’s what the customer demands. Their fear of upsetting the mentally ill trans lot, at the expense of the safety of women and girls, is utterly unforgivable.

Very handy having gender neutral changing rooms, Dads can now try things on with small children shopping with separate changing cubicles

Yes I agree here. But have all three choices, always.

When my kids were little there were often no changing rooms. I shopped very often for their clothes in our local Woolworths. (Ladybird clothes were lovely) and used to put clothes on them over the clothes they were wearing or hold the clothes up against them. Other ways included measuring their leg length and waist size to compare with the clothes. (Not a bad method seeing as clothes sizes vary so much!)

If I really like something online I'll buy from somewhere like Next or Asda so I can easily take it back. Last time I used a changing room it was in Next. It was on the womens floor and the mens floor is upstairs. There are only two floors. In Sainsburys there is a gender neutral changing room (which is rarely open) but when it is open it is monitored by a member of staff. I do not like Sainsburys clothes though.

gender -neutral reminds me of all the peepholes in gender-neutral cubicles in norris green swimming baths when I was young. There are always wierdos who want to have a perve and will say anything to get their `thrill`

I fully agree with you 100%. I won't shop anywhere where they have gender neutral changing rooms and/or loo's.

Men should have their own section/privacy and women should have ours!

When I worked on the buses and the men's loo's were out of order they asked us to use ours ... of course they can, absolutely no problem ... the same when ours broke and we had to use theirs, both genders were very respectful of the other and we laughed and joked about it but businesses expecting all genders to all mix in the same space isn't my idea of good planning!

The large M&S near us has had a refurb and their changing rooms are now mixed. Even though the cubicles have locks I do not like it as I like to go out of the cubicle and look in the mirrors there but when I was there there was a group of men discussing the trousers they were trying on.

So the men were not interested in you they were discussing the trousers just as I would discuss a dress if I had a friend there. I don't see the problem.

I fear for the future for my little grandchildren very much so and I will not frequent shops or cafes if they put men’s needs first.

Men's and gender neutral toilets - no women's !!?? Is there something sinister going on ? Are women being slowly disregarded, we are no longer breast feeders but chest feeders and are people with vaginas - subtle changes but hugely significant ones.
Please tell me if I have this out of all proportion, just feeling depressed about our increasingly violent society, and despair at the behaviour of some young people. In the library yesterday 3 young boys entered
aged about 15. They began verbally abusing the librarian, knocking books off shelves , jeering and shouting and racing round . It was very scary, the librarian picked up the phone to call the police and they scarpered! What is the answer?

She should have thrown the book at them.

Yep I won't use the changing rooms in Primark. I thought they had changed that following a video that was posted on TikTok showing a woman being harrassed by some yobs.

There should be ladies only and me only changing facilities and loos.

If people have chosen to be something different then the consequences for them should not impact on my way of life. They can campaign for their own facilities.

Today I was in Primark (not proud of this and please don’t judge).
I chose some items and went to the fitting rooms, when I asked tha assistant which was the women’s she announced with pride they were all gender neutral.
I handed her the items and left.

Why?

I wonder if Primark are saving money by having one changing room assistant instead of two.

Fewer women will try on in store this way - does that save money too?

I’ve solved the problem with shopping in Primark - I don’t shop there!

However I do believe all public buildings should provide exclusively women’s spaces.
Problems for dads out with children are solved by the parent/child/baby change facilities now provided everywhere these days.

There was a previous incident similar to this a few years ago and i wondered then why can't retailers adjust their IT systems so that when an item is returned it is swiped through their tills to see whether or not it has actually been purchased in the first place.

Thought you usually had to have a receipt of purchase to return goods.

I think most retailers, certainly the larger ones including M&S, John Lewis have so called ‘gender neutral’ changing rooms now following “guidance” possibly from Stonewall/BRC et al.

At least M&S have lockable cubicles, whereas IIRC Primark (and other stores) just have a curtain that gives even less security than it does privacy. No wonder there is a website for “Primark porn”….. .

All those of us who believe that women deserve single sex spaces can do is let these retailers know (as the OP did) and vote with our feet, taking our £ with us.

We need female only spaces .

Aged 15 , I was nearly raped on the train -only my quick thinking made the guy believe that I'd meet him later .
I had some scratches and bruises on my thighs .
Afterwards , I took my Grandmother's and Mother's advice to always use the ladies only carriage .

In my late fifties : I suffered two sexual assaults within months .
