Liberty I’m so glad you had a lovely day at Hyde Hall. It is a really lovely garden. My friend had told me about the Flower show and asked if I wanted to go along, but I had other commitments. A shame as we could have met up for a quick hello 👋.

RosesandLilac Sun 04-Aug-24 08:04:02

Thank you for all the compliments, 🙏

Morning everyone from a grey S E Essex, I could hear thunder in the night, but we had no rain.

I am near Hyde Hall Liberty and absolutely adore having a wander around.

I am going away with DD and her boys this week and will be off of GN.

Keep out of trouble folks 🙋‍♀️

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s pleasantly warm at present. Alexa tells me the temperature will rise to 20°C later. Nice.

We are meeting our Yorkshire Lass and her husband for lunch at a pub in Dobcross. They will be packing away their camping gear around noon. We will pick up my stepfather en route. It’s a 40 minute drive away and he’s looking forward to a trip out.

I’m pleased with my pedicure done yesterday. Holiday toes are good to go. Wednesday afternoon can’t come soon enough!

Good morning from Durham - a chilly start of 13degrees, but the wind making it seem cooler.
I’ve slept only 3 hours, but I need to sort myself out as I’ve promised DD1 and her family lunch at a local pub, now under new management and doing food again, hope it’s ok and we’ll walk both ways.
I’m confused by an email from a roof man who says he’ll come today to look at it - surely he means tomorrow? Either day and I won’t be in. I’m expecting a hefty estimate/quote.
Best wishes to all. X

Good morning all from a rainy Glasgow.

Gingster, I hope your DD has a good day.

How skilled you are, R&L. I could knit complicated Aran patterns, but have never beencable to get to grips with crocher.

Have a lovely Sunday folks.

Good morning from a sunny South Downs.

Yesterday there was a huge celebration of life in Brighton - it was absolutely joyous and tremendous fun for all. Lovely to see the everyone singing and dancing. 300000 people attended.

Pride have a lot to be proud about I think. Peace and harmony indeed.

Today I might potter. The hot humid dog days of summer have hopefully come to an end, although I notice Sirius is shining brightly - actually it has been renamed Duncan - a bright shiny star😊.

Raking the Japanese garden today - actually it is the foxes playground😡. I found a poo right on top of a tall rock - he must to have had to balance somehow.

Enjoy your day all

Peace and harmony to our nation.

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle. I woke to a light shower earlier and suspect there will be more.
I'm a tad tired after a poor night's sleep due to acid indigestion so I'm having a quiet day reading the papers, books and magazines that are piling up! Though I have pulled out a selection of boots and shoes for cleaning. DH kept all the footwear spick and span so I have been spoilt. It's not my favourite job. Actually, I don't think I have any favourite jobs, not in the house anyway....

Wishing sun for those who want it and rain for those who need it, have a good day everyone.

Gingster so pleased your DD is feeling a bit better, enjoy shopping together ❤️

Good morning to you all.

Yesterday the female family members from both sides gathered at a hotel with a hired room to celebrate DD2’s upcoming wedding next month. We all had cream tea and some of us had champagne, It was a lovely afternoon and the sun came out. DiL and DGD2 couldn’t make it as they are on holiday and were much missed. Very hard to eat any dinner later on at home despite not being served till 8pm.

Have an enjoyable Sunday everyone.

Glamorous feet Urms lovely!

GG have a lovely week with your DD and the boys.

Good morning all from N Bucks where it is overcast and cooler but still warm enough.
I was happy to hear GS’s school party were home from Berlin last night after their massive bike ride from Copenhagen and the traumas of getting to Copenhagen in the first place. Nobody glued to the runway yesterday!
As we feared it was hot and he did have a touch of heatstroke one day so did the Thursday leg on the support coach. They were well provided with First Aiders but as a bonus had a couple of useful consultants/surgeons among the Dads! (And not obstetricians either grin ) Glad he’s home though and looking forward to hearing all about it when I see them on Thursday.
London today, lunch with Sis in law then “A Chorus Line” at Sadlers Wells. (One of my all time favourites)
Happy the heat wave has passed too as the Tube in last weeks heat must have been pretty awful.
Wishing you all a pleasant Sunday.

Lovely blanket roses. Still reeling from the sad news if the Sunderland riots couldn’t believe I live not too far from this. Pride came back to me when I’ve seen the volunteers arriving from 5am to help clear the city up. My three sons said all the same thing mum it’s the minority nit majority. Seeing a town that loves its people and football team no matter what made me shed a silent tear. Let’s hope you all have a lovely Sunday trouble free and with your loved ones.

Good morning everyone from Severnside.
It’s cloudy and bright.

I’ve got a little diy shopping to do this morning and hang out the washing when I return. I hope to mow the lawn. It’s looking awful!
Hopefully I’ll be able to potty in the garage sorting some things I no longer want.
Your blanket is very pretty Roses.

Have a lovely Sunday all

Good morning,
It’s a little bit drizzly today, but is supposed to brighten up. I hope so, as I put a wash load on before I realised it was drizzling.
Had a lovely afternoon meeting friends yesterday dining al fresco in their garden. It’s a shame that the breeze got up, which made it chilly as the afternoon wore on. However, I went prepared with layers to put on.
Not sure of the plans for today other than church later this morning.
A lovely nail colour Urms, very summery.
Your blanket looks very nice Rosesandlilac. You are clever.
I’m not in the least bit surprised at that Christmas window Ash - everything is topsy turvy these days.

harrigran Sun 04-Aug-24 09:00:54

Good morning from an overcast NE.
An old friend of DH emailed me yesterday because he had seen our city centre on the news. By the time I was replying to him volunteers had been out and cleared up all the debris.
One of the instigators was a local business woman, videos were posted online of police arresting her in the early hours of the morning. I imagine her business will suffer now.
Family came yesterday afternoon, rare to have GD1 here as she usually works on a Saturday. I think she will probably leave the holiday job as she is being seriously underpaid. She is working as a waitress in a boutique hotel and I think the staff are being exploited.
GD2 is going on a week long course from tomorrow, it is run by a stage school, she loves musical theatre. I asked DIL if safeguarding was in place for the duration as I was concerned after Southport. DiL assured me that they had been informed of the security measures.
Quiet day for me, a crossword and then my novel.
Have a good day.

Better news of your daughter Gingster 🤞
Have a lovely week GG13
Ready for the sandals and sand Urms ☀️

Good morning everyone from a cooler and cloudy Northampton. Must get out and cut the grass today.

DGD's mum came to collect her yesterday morning, and they both had a shower here, as their boiler is kaput and they have no not water. I am expecting DS and DGD1 today for showers! DS texted me later for my plumber's phone number.

Did not do a lot yesterday apart from watching the Olympics and reading the papers.

Maw enjoy 'A Chorus Line* - elder DGD and her mum went yesterday; I was quite envious....

Cold roast chicken for dinner tonight. Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from a cool north of Scotland. Off to Church then I plan to watch the tennis with Bellasnana.
Family visits to prepare for and I am excited that both my DC will be here at the same time.
A special mention for the Urms. I cried happy tears for them this week.
Blessings to to you all..

Grandmachrisy47 Sun 04-Aug-24 09:28:22

Well I’ve actually got something to talk about, as usually life is dreary. Had two young men surveying the house for free cavity wall insulation under a Council initiative, fingers crossed it goes ahead. Especially in light of the withdrawal of the winter fuel allowance. Then two young firemen called to install new smoke alarms. A two minute job but a 20 question and answer session. I was amazed when one of told me he knew me as I knew his late grandmother. The other one lived three doors away from my friend. I suppose that’s the joy of living in a relatively small town.
Some happy, positive posts today. Lovely blanket R&L. Love the colour of your toes, Urms.
The unrest in Sunderland and Hartlepool also upset me, as they are relatively close by.
Off to bike to nowhere for half an hour, then listen to The Archers. Have a good Sunday everyone.

Good morning all from a cooler greyer Angus coast - we're expecting 'your' rain late afternoon Marydoll, which will stay with us all through tomorrow.
Sorry about your all-day breakfast yesterday Mick.
So glad to hear about your DD's improvement Gingster.
What a lovely blanket RosesandLilac, and love the colours, and your proposed planters sound lovely.
I had a busy day yesterday - and there are a few more coming up! Like you Ekwa, I hate housework I don't have a favourite housework job. I keep my living quarters spick-and-span(ish), but the three guest bedrooms plus the large lounge get very neglected until visitors descend. Anyway, now is the time! And I shouldn't be spending 'the time' on here, so I'll just say enjoy your leisurely Sundays everyone and let's all hope the revolting, senseless rent-a-mob louts quieten back down.
