Hi to all kitchen pals, I’m just home getting a late breakfast as we went for a lovely local walk first thing this morning. It was about 7 miles in total so I’m ready for my breakfast. I thought we’d best get going early before one of us changed our mind! I’ll be off out again later to meet my pal for coffee and then a trip to Tesco.
The DGC were quite good last night thanks grandmabatty, although they were watching tv most of the time. DGS had been playing basketball after school so came in ravenous and had a quick snack of 2 slices toast with chocolate spread, a banana, a packet of mini cheddars, a glass of milk and a biscuit 🤦‍♀️
Hoping your dentist appointments are going ok today nannytopsy
Happy Anniversary to GG13 ❤️🎉🥂
Love to Doodle , nannyG4, the Soops, Yia and everyone else facing tough times just now, sending hugs ❤️

Morning all. It’s a lovely sunny morning although it’s cold. (I sound like I’m on the wrong thread!) There’s a robin singing loudly outside the window, so don’t think I shall go back to sleep.
Your DGD only bought her car recently I think, UTBB ? What a shame for her.
Dentists again today. Extraction of a wobbly tooth for DH and the next step on my implant. Well, someone has to take at for his brand new surgery!
Hope everyone has the best day possible.

A quick hello kitchen people - I’m tucked up in bed.

The WI boat trip and cream tea was fun, although the rain and hail was of biblical proportions!

I’m thinking of those of you with difficulties. Sleep tight.

Usedtobeblonde Thu 12-Sept-24 16:50:24

Still catching up and see Jaxjacky has been to Worthing.
My D lives just a hop and skip from there so although I can’t claim to know it well I have been several times including the hospital to see my newly born GD 22 years ago now.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 12-Sept-24 16:46:38

We have the 9yr old here for a sleepover, as he is spoilt (like the rest of our GC) by us, he has steak and chips for his dinner. We are having chicken and chorizo.

We had men in again today, hopefully by the end of next week all bedrooms will be useable - yippee!

Thinking of our kitchen friends who are troubled for whatever reason (((hugs))) 🙋‍♀️

Jaxjacky Thu 12-Sept-24 16:18:00

Afternoon everyone, damn and blast utbb what a shock for her, I’m pleased she’s ok though, enjoy your trip away.
I hope they’re on their best behaviour brook.
How frustrating Blossoming and exhausting xx
We had a delicious meal last night, then ventured off to a pub quiz, good fun!
Home late morning with aching legs from two days of walking about, a thoroughly enjoyable break, take away tonight - back to cooking tomorrow.

Redcar Thu 12-Sept-24 16:06:25

uttb what a shame about your GD’s pride & joy, but relieved she wasn’t injured. Hope it can soon be fixed.
granmarie sometimes I feel that my friend is aware of things, especially from her facial expressions when I ask her to repeat what she has said, she is clearly exasperated!
Sorry to hear you’ve had balance problems blossoming, vertigo is horrible.
I’m dog minding at my daughters today, so a lazy day. Youngest granddaughter is just home from school, feeling a bit off colour. I hope she doesn’t share her germs!
Have a good evening everyone.

Grandmabatty Thu 12-Sept-24 15:51:15

Good afternoon kitcheners. I'm sorry usedtobeblonde to hear about your dgds car accident. I'm glad she isn't hurt and the other driver admitted responsibility. Brook fingers crossed for peace for you.
I have dgs2 sitting beside me. He's been a good boy today but didn't have much of a nap. Dgs1 is going to a friend's house with another friend. He was so excited to go. I'll take dgs2 home in half an hour then tidy up the living room. Enjoy your afternoon kitcheners.

silverlining48 Thu 12-Sept-24 15:49:26

Sorry to hear that Blossoming, I have had vertigo/labyrynthitis on and off for many years now. It’s horrible as it starts without warning and for me bed is my safe space.
Hope you feel better soon.

Blossoming Thu 12-Sept-24 15:38:21

Good afternoon all, balance problems have been fierce this last week so have spent several days in bed.

Have a good weekend x

brook2704 Thu 12-Sept-24 15:37:39

Good afternoon kitchen pals, its a cold showery day up here in Inverness today

So sorry to hear about your GD uttb, but like you say thank goodness she’s ok and not hurt, just shaken. Poor girl, no wonder she’s upset. I hope you enjoy your holiday to the Peak District at the weekend and the weather is ok for you both

Catching up with the Glesca Grans is definitely worth the travelling time grannmarie, it does take a while but the journey goes quickly and is straightforward - worth every minute and it was lovely to see you and all the other grans too

We’re off out soon to sit in with the DGC, can’t really call it babysitting any more as they’re 9 & 10. Fingers crossed they’ve both had a good day at school and aren’t bickering and winding each other up again 🤦‍♀️

Sending gentle hugs to all those in need ❤️

Usedtobeblonde Thu 12-Sept-24 14:41:08

Good afternoon all.
I am just catching up with all your news after a trying few days.
However many of you have more difficult days than me so I must get on with life.
I will not name names, you are all in my thoughts.

We still have my Gsons here, they may be going after the weekend.

My GD was side swiped last night and her pride and joy is very badly damaged.
It is her first car, 2 years old and she is very upset.
Fortunately she was not hurt but very shaken.
The other driver has admitted responsibility so hopefully not too much hassle.
The courtesy car is due to be delivered today.

I have had other minor problems but away again Sunday to Tuesday in the Peak District with my friend across the road .
I just hope it warms up a bit, it is central heating cold here today.

I shall send healing vibes to those who need them and friendly ones to everyone else.

soop Thu 12-Sept-24 14:25:55

You really are a lovely lot. The best on Gransnet. Thank you. flowers

Nannytopsy Wed 11-Sept-24 22:04:58

Hugs for both soops. Let’s hope this new consultant can help.
We’re recovering from a flying visit from DCG and their parents overnight. We now have plenty of clearing up to do. 🤣
DH has just given a talk to my WI and is now being courted by U3A! He did very well!

Grannmarie Wed 11-Sept-24 22:00:59

Dear Soop, thank you for your update. Hoping and praying that the planned procedure for MrSoop has the best possible outcome. Sorry to hear about your dear friend. Thinking of you all in these difficult days.
Silverlining, fingers crossed for your DH too.
Redcar, so sorry about your dear friend. Maybe, at some level, she is aware of your presence? Your visits show your care for her and support for her DH.
Blossoming, glad your tum is a bit better today.
Grandmabatty, so sorry to hear about your tummy troubles, you were missed today at the Glesca Grans meet up. Hope things settle down for you soon.

I had a great afternoon, enjoying a good blether with a lovely group of GN ladies,
including our very own brook, who travelled the furthest to be there! We welcomed two new Grans to the meet up too.

Nice to see the sunshine ☀ today although it is a good bit colder. Jaxjacky and FGT, enjoy your holidays!

Wishing everyone a peaceful Wednesday evening and a good night's sleep. TOYA, NNGB.

SueDonim Wed 11-Sept-24 21:49:18

Just popping in to give flowers to the Soops and to others with hard rows to hoe right now. TOYA. Xxx

gillgran Wed 11-Sept-24 19:07:26

Difficult time for you & your husband, soop, my warmest thoughts for you both.
Also thinking of others in this friendly kitchen who have extra worries & cares just now.
A good time for a group hug. x flowers

Grandmachrisy47 Wed 11-Sept-24 17:46:23

Soop 💐

silverlining48 Wed 11-Sept-24 17:36:04

Hello Soop it’s been a while since I last visited the kitchen but I have just read about mr s and wanted to send my best wishes as my mr s has what sounds like the same problem. Despite always wearing a hat he has had many problems with BCC in the past, but it has progressed to cancer . He had his scalp operation in April and it still looks red and very sore. We await further appointment and 4 monthly follow ups, and keep our fingers crossed for him as I do for you and mr s. X

brook2704 Wed 11-Sept-24 17:14:44

Sending gentle hugs to soop and MrSoop ❤️

cornergran Wed 11-Sept-24 17:07:37

Just a hug and sending love to you both soop.

Hope all will be proved to be well Hulahoop.

TOYA.

Redcar Wed 11-Sept-24 16:50:19

Dear soop I’m sorry you and Mr Soop are having such a hard time. His treatment sounds very painful but I hope the new consultant will be able to treat his poor scalp successfully and quickly! Gentle hugs to you both.
*grandmabatty I hope you’ll soon be completely better, our grandchildren are so generous with their germs aren’t they!
I hope the Glesca grans had a good catch up today.
jax a restful evening is called for after such a busy day.
Enjoy your evening everyone.
