A quick hello kitchen people.
So glad FGT2’s party went well!
OH had a third transient global amnesia thing this morning. Obviously he is quite worried.
He was able to visit his bees while I went to a talk on our village by a guy who wrote his PhD thesis on it.
I made strawberries, raspberries and pineapple crumble for pudding. It was delicious but we were hardly aware of the pineapple.
Sleep tight.💤

(1001 Posts)Welcome! Thank you all for making our Kitchen a super-special gathering place.
Enjoy!
and hugs galore.
Good to hear the party went so well yesterday fgt I hope you both sleep well tonight
We picked up DGS mid afternoon, he’s just gone off to bed, we’ve been playing numerous board games most of the evening which he enjoys. He’s been good most of the time, just a bit of backchat that I could do without! We’re off to bed soon once I’ve had some quiet time to unwind …
Hope Imogen soon settles into college Jax and enjoys her first day
Thinking of all our kitchen pals sitting quietly in the corner, take care all ❤️
Yay FGT way to go strutting your stuff 🙂 so happy for you both.
It’s been another grey spotty rain day, but warmer, Finley’s football match held for 20 minutes as thunder was rattling around. I did shift my btm for a short walk, picked a giant cucumber and a few baby toms, MrJ watched Fin play. I then spent a happy hour or so looking for things to do in Worthing whilst we’re away.
Imogen has college tomorrow and is worrying about it, 🤞 her bus and the day go well, duck legs for dinner
What a relief neine and breathe!
I hope you’re feeling more settled UTBB , your room may become your sanctuary, but don’t become isolated x
fgt2 I’ve also just read your post on the Good Morning thread and am so pleased you had a wonderful time at your party! I’ve never been able to wear shoes like yours and would undoubtedly fall off them now!
neine I’m relieved for you that your recent mammogram showed no cause for concern! Hope you’ll soon be feeling better.
Family called in this morning, my sil checked the landing light for me, but didn’t need to change the bulb. He thinks it may be a loose connection, so when the electrician comes to sort out the smoke detectors and the garage lights I’ll get home to check the landing light too. The list of tasks gets longer every minute!
I may start to take the tomatoes (mainly green) off the plants as they’re not ripening now.
Tried to offload a few spare pots and pans to my DDs, but they’re not interested, so it’ll be some to charity & the rest to the tip!
I hope what’s left of Sunday is good to us all.
Good morning lovely peeps. A lot has happened in our kitchen and I must take time for some serious catch-up. This afternoon, after a couple of days of comings and goings and some disruption, I shall return to spend some quality time with you all. In the meantime,
and hugs aplenty.
FGT...just read your post on the Good Morning thread...the party sounds wonderful and I'm so pleased you and Mr FGT had a fabulous time. ( I loved your shoes ..and a girl after my own heart for a bargain too). Happy Belated Birthday....
UTBB...I hope all goes well with the rearrangements at home...well done for embracing it ...change isn't easy when memories are involved.
My results came back as 'Nothing found to give cause for concern' Phew. Big sighs of relief all round.
Just as we hiccupped from that little trauma so I fell headlong into COVID so am currently feeling pretty grotty.....very snotty and sick. Hey ho who needs a quiet life.
Sitting on my tennis chair watching the ladies’ finals in New York, after a busy day in the garden.
So much news in the kitchen. *Usedtobeblond” I wish you strength for your family difficulties. I do hope they appreciate you. My best wishes to all, carers, being cared for and that you all have someone who cares about you.
I am off to toast the FGTs. 🥂
I love those shoes FGT2 the colour is gorgeous too. Hope you’re dancing the night away 🥂🎉💃
Lovely shoes! Wish I could wear them!
Hope you get some answers soon Yiayia
Have a lovely time FGT2? Love the shoes. (Toe cleavage 🤣🤣).
Thinking of Kalu and NannyG4. Hope you are hanging in there.
Great bargain fgt hope the party is going well
I hope you enjoy your new sitting room ann a place where you can enjoy some time to yourself , you do so much for others ❤️
Good to hear MrB is looking after you so well Blossoming , sorry to hear you’re in so much pain though
Love the shoes fgt2, just my style ( when I could wear heels).
Have a fantastic celebration, you both deserve it.
Beautiful shoes FGT2! I wish I could wear high-heels, especially as I’m only 5feet 2inches tall! Have a wonderful time!
Yes, ready to rock Jax!
Do you like my party shoes? I bought them from the Cancer Research charity shop months ago for the princely sum of £6! I love them. Just the right amount of toe cleavage which pleases me.
Now, I just need to start getting ready - make up and decide which of two new dresses to wear! My favourite one is in a smaller size. Oh dear. Can I wriggle into it?
We are picking L’il Miss up en route. She’s SO excited and wants to help set up the room!
The multiple tests and the waiting must be so hard Yia you’re in my thoughts.
You’ll have your own special space ann well done for meeting the challenges.
It’s blooming’ raining again, only light, but precludes any garden work, storms forecast overnight. So I’ve been digesting the paper and am left with the crosswords, they’ll last me days as they only get attention with a cup of tea sit down.
Ready to rock FGT 🥳? X
Crossed posts, Dustyangel, good to see you in the kitchen. 👋 I hope you and yours are all doing well.
YiaYia, thinking of you and your DH. I hope you get some answers soon, and a treatment plan in place.
Blossoming, I'm so sorry to hear that you are suffering, but so glad you've got the dashing MrB to look after you. Much love to you both. 💕
Good for you, Ann, UTTB, it's not easy to undertake Swedish Death Cleaning. Grandmabatty has good advice. 👍I read the book and tried to motivate myself but I'm a dreadful procrastinator. Scarlett O'Hara has nothing on me, my "tomorrow" becomes weeks, months, years....
I hope you get lots of enjoyment from your new sitting room.
Glad you enjoyed your craft fair, Redcar, I haven't been to one for ages.
Thinking of the Soops, hoping and praying that all goes well this week. 🙏
It's lovely and sunny here, most unusual! I spent a wee while tidying up in the garden. Preparing roast chicken dinner now, DS3 and lovely girlfriend are joining us. I'll send them up to the loft later, they're good at bringing down stuff for me. I can decide whether to keep, donate or bin... I call it Scottish Death cleaning!🤣A wee bit at a time.
Wishing everyone a peaceful Saturday evening and a good night's sleep. TOYA.
I’m sure you will be “spared” Uttb. Being just a couple of years older than me, you’ve always given me hope for the future! My heart ached for you having to give up parts of your lovely home, but they are only things and it will be fun to play with different ideas of how you want your new sitting room. Eventually you will be able to sit in state and only invite people in when you feel like it. Or if you want it might be the place that everyone gravitates to. It will be yours to do exactly what you want to. Maybe your own small fridge for an occasional G&T!
FGT very glad to see you back again and I hope you both have a wonderful time tonight.
Best wishes also to SueDomin
I’m sure that I have left someone out but I’m going to post this so that I can have another read through
Hello everyone.
usedtobeblonde it’s very brave of you to embark on the Swedish death clean and I know I should also have a good declutter, but need help as I can’t face doing it alone!
My neighbour and I went to a craft fair at the local church this morning, so many talented people in the village! It was good to see so many people that I haven’t seen in years. I must make the effort to get out more!
Sending gentle hugs to all those who are suffering pain at the moment.
I hope the rest of the day is kind to us.
I have told myself they are only possessions and so many things are more important like health and happiness.
I feel better now and am looking forward to new smaller sitting room just for me.
I am going to have it just how I want it and just hope “ I am spared” long enough to enjoy it.
Usedtobeblonde I did my Swedish Death Clean six years ago and revisit it every year. Only get rid of what you are happy to do so. 💐
Good afternoon dear Kitcheners. I’m afraid I have not been very communicative the last few days. I’m having a lot of pain and stomach problems which makes me feel miserable, especially at 3am when I’m rolling round in pain. I try to keep up with your news, sending hugs to all those with problems and with family worries. I don’t know what I would do without MrB’s support, I love that man so much ❤️. He is doing exceedingly well with his healthy eating and daily walks. He has lost a lot of weight and has dumped his tracksuit bottoms and tops for smart cargo pants and chinos worn with button up shirts. I see I shall have to watch out for competition! He is healthier and happier.
Take care all, until next time x
Thinking of all our kitchen pals facing tough times just now especially Yia, Ann and SueDsending gentle hugs to all, take care x
Hi everyone.I had to post again as I can’t tell anyone else.
We are doing a Swedish death clean.
My GD and her boyfriend are dismantling the dining table as I type.
The chairs are already in the skip.
I have had to come upstairs to weep at the memories of so many hundreds of happy hours spent round the table with both family and friends.
We were very sociable people and entertained a lot in the days when everyone did.
All those times gone now.
Lots of good and kind feelings to Yia and her husband.
Many of us understand so well. Xx
