Hello kitchen people.

What a lovely red dress!

Well, I’m not quite lying down in a darkened room with a stiff drink… I cooked a roast chicken with all the trimmings - substituting Yorkshire puddings for bread sauce - with rhubarb crumble or chocolate peppermint ice cream for pudding.

After my granddaughter encouraged us to take part in a drawing competition (we had to copy and colour one of the many pictures in my house) which elder son judged, they packed up and drove back to Kew. My granddaughter is so looking forward to seeing her bedroom again for the first time in a fortnight.

I’ve already put on a couple of loads of washing and put the chicken carcass in the stock pot to made stock.

Have a good evening. The cupboard is practically bare so I must work on a shopping list ready for tomorrow.

jax pleased that your back is improving, don’t be tempted to start on the garden though, give it a few more days, you don’t want to upset your back again!

A day of doing a little more than yesterday, 🤞 my back is improving, it’s windy outside with a cool edge, I’ve wandered about our small garden noting things to do. I will cook tonight, MrJ has been a sterling chef, but it’s not one of his strengths, easy dinner of Tesco duck legs.

My Kindle finally gave up today, hopefully my new one will be delivered tomorrow, as much as I dislike using Amazon they really are extremely useful.

We had a lovely day yesterday so happy to be there.As you can see the bride was a lady in red and it really suited her.DH did very well as it was a long day.Tonight we are going to a family dinner for DH’s birthday,can’t believe he is 80 tomorrow.

I hope and pray that all goes well for Mr and Mrs Soop next week.

We have had another busy day with elder son and granddaughter. Partner is driving up from London tomorrow in time for lunch and then they’ll drive back home. It’s been lovely having them here but I look forward to lying down in a darkened room with a large drink!

Annoyingly I had a migraine this afternoon. I took a triptan which worked within half an hour but left me dazed for the rest of the day.

I’ve been lazy - come on back, get sorted! It’s rained here for hours too GG13, now it’s sunny, I’ve waded through the paper and talked to both children. Funny when you can’t, you decide all sorts of jobs need doing 🙂.

I have had a relatively lazy day, cooked 2kilo’s of chilli con carne, waiting for it to cool down before I portion it up and pop in the freezer. DH is preparing dinner (old fashioned duck a l’orange) no doubt I shall be called on to do the veggies (dauphinois potatoes and whatever green vegetables I can find in the fridge 🥦🫛

I do hope Yiayia is having a brilliant time.

I hope yiayia is having a wonderful day at the wedding, have I read somewhere a while ago that tomorrow is mr yia’s birthday or is it my imagination? If it is his birthday I hope he has a very enjoyable day.
soop I hope you have a good journey to Glasgow and a comfortable stay at the Premier Inn. A busy day for mr soop, I hope all goes well with scan and that his afternoon appointment is helpful. Fingers crossed that you hear soon about his scalp operation.
A wet day here, so I’ve been trying to clear some of the stuff that is covering the dining table and make space for the family who are coming for a snack type lunch on Monday. I can only do about 20 minutes at a time, before I have to have a break to rest my back & grumpy hip!

Yia Enjoy this very special day.

Tomorrow we are away to Glasgow. Staying overnight in a Premier Inn. Early Monday Mr Soop is to have his aortic aneurysm scanned at the Queen Elizabeth hospital. Early afternoon he has an appointment at the Beatson cancer hospital regarding his lymphoma. After which, we return home. I am hoping that hear from the surgeon who is to operate on his scalp very, very soon.

Our neighbour is doing a few indoor jobs for us during our absence. He is kindness personified. As is his lovely partner. We feel very lucky to have such good mates living next door.

The weather is changeable. Sunshine and blustery showers are the order of the day.

Take good care of yourselves. I shall return to our kitchen on Tuesday.

Have a wonderful day Yiayia, lots of precious memories to be made, surrounded by love... Its our daughter's wedding anniversary today, 17 years, I will never forget it, my late DH so proud to walk her down the aisle. Look forward to seeing some photos.

Congratulations for their exam results to all the hard working grandchildren. No matter the outcome it’s an achievement to have got through the process.

Hope the knee keeps behaving granmarie. It’s the uncertainty that frustrates me, one day I can wander at will, the next absolutely no chance. Our not so Littlest sometimes offered me a ride in his scooter, until he decided I’d probably fall off .

I’m itching to sort our climbing roses which were battered in yesterdays wind. The rain today isn’t helping. When we get a dry day out will come the ladder and serious tidying will occur.

Oh well, best get on with dust removal. Ran out of energy yesterday while wondering how the installation of one carpet could have caused so much dust to fall.
