….wash my sheepskin house boots!
They’re in the machine now (machine washable on a 30 deg woolly wash) but they take forever to dry!
So 🤞I won’t really want them for a while yet.

You and me both .
I actually went through most of my stuff when it was hot .
But there's always something that you forget .
My neighbour often changes her towels and I don't !
I have a great pile of her castoffs and they are so useful for drying things .
I've put hand-washed knitwear in them and absorbed the excess moisture .
But then you have to dry the towels !

You've just reminded me of a job I need to do - not so much season related but certainly weather related. It's dry and sunny so I need to do so gardening to fill my green bin for tomorrow's collection! Yesterday was too wet and I've been unwell so the bin is currently empty and the garden in great need!

Strimmed my wild flower garden.

I have just covered the outdoor wood-pile and the saw-horse with tarpaulins - the garden bench will have to wait, as will the last lawn until it has dried. I got the other lawns cut on Thursday before the rain started.

I also, yesterday, sewed a new cover for the old quilt I use to insulate a door to an unheated passage. If you are wondering how a quilt can be used in this way, it is fairly simple. Anyone who wants to know can pm me.

I have also washed my thinest summer things and put them away. My winter things are clean, as they are washed when I put them away at the start of the summer.

Had my chimneys swept! Completely forgot!

Need to give the BBQ a good clean before it goes away in the garage with all the garden furniture unfortunately raining again so I'm here on gransnet.

We just put the garden chairs in the shed. I dont think we'll need them again this year. Whilst in the tidying mode I emptied two kitchen cupboards and now have two boxes of dishes for the charity shop.

When it was very hot smug me washed the duvets (trampled in the bath, like wine making), pillows, cushion covers, all the curtains, winter dressing gowns, coats and fleeces, eiderdowns, all the bedding in our Campervan and anything thick I could get my hands on. I am however expecting to find something I forgot very soon hmm

Ooh I might try that with mine, thanks for the idea 👍
I was only thinking yesterday I'll be needing them soon 🥶

I’ve had my gas fire serviced £40 and now I’m just waiting for my annual visit from a British Gas engineer to service the boiler. After having a new combi boiler three years ago I took out a monthly care package which covers everything so I don’t have to worry. Anything else wants doing will just have to wait apart from the garden and jet washing the patio which has been done today.😊

One thing I should have done well before the weather turned autumnal

Ordered a warm dressing gown
My old one got thrown out as it was so disreputable.

Painted the woodshed. I’ve been trying to do it for weeks, but we’ve never had more than two days together without rain to dry the wood. I’m praying for an Indian summer, as it really does need to be done.

Autumnal? Today I felt as though I’d gone straight into Winter! A slight exaggeration but I had very chilly fingers when I cycled into town this morning.

I really should have bought some slippers. I was full of good intentions to make some, but that hasn’t happened of course. Chilly toes until I sort it out!

Waxed my garden furniture cover so that the rain beads off- instead its now like a swimming pool

I'm another one who should have had my boiler serviced sooner than now.
But it's ok, I phoned today and they can do it in a couple of weeks time.
