Wow Greyduster brilliant!
Ethical question - how do you feel about second chance??
So it begins….. Streeting resigns
Problems in Harry and Meghan Marriage
Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but is also dry outside at the moment here in brackley .
My usual routine with bus trip to Bicester , shop ,say hello to a few people I Know .
Hopefully watch some cycling on TV this afternoon .
Health front right upper leg pain not disappearing, mainly due siting on coach and railway carriage seats the old fashion type .
Take CARE,
Mick
Wow Greyduster brilliant!
Bedding in the machine so it can dry outside shortly and have just taken delivery of a box of bulbs, mostly tulips, which I am advised not to plant till late October - does anyone have a view on this? There is a real risk of me putting them away and totally forgetting them if I leave it so long. Singing this afternoon so a nice day in prospect.
Hope everyone is able to take advantage of the promised fine weather which apparently runs out at the end of the week. Even the Indian summer is limited this year.
Good morning all, and it's another lovely one here on the Angus coast after a lovely sunset last night. Yesterday was I think the hottest all year - better late than never!
No real news from here. After very little sleep the night before I was surprisingly alert all day, with no 'inadvertent' snoozing - but I still didn't fall asleep until after 3am. Gave me a chance to admire the moon though!
I'm off to meet a friend for lunch at the Scottish Antiques Centre. Very appropriate for me 😉, but she's 20 years younger! Actually there's a lovely restaurant there, and also a very up-to-date section usually well-stocked with 'different' things, so an interesting day ahead.
I hope you all enjoy your days and that all aches, pains and afflictions are lessened by the sun by day and the moon by night. Take care x
Good morning everyone from a dull and cloudy Northampton, but sun is forecast later and a lovely warm day should ensue. Glad I have just put the towels in the machine.
Yesterday was beautiful, and we had a lovely walk in the September sunshine. Spoiled by me tripping over a tree root! However, no damage done except to my dignity and a couple of bruises. I did not wield the shears and trim the hedge when I got back.....
Out to the cinema again this afternoon to see another new film, 'The Critic'. That is the last of my 6 free tickets used up, so will have to start paying for future visits! (Members get them as part of our membership package).
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning from Shropshire where another warm day is forecast.
After a few days of business in the house and garden I channelled my inner lazy gran yesterday and sat in the conservatory reading until it was time for Welsh class. It was lovely, my favourite place to be.
Today will be more laundry which should dry outside.Other than that more laundry.
Pretty bag FGT.
Hoping for better nights sleep for everybody tonight.
Have the best day you can 🦩
Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle. It reached 23°C here yesterday!
I did the laundry and bed-changing in the morning. After lunch I went to the garden centre for more bulbs and compost but there was no interesting new plant stock to tempt me. I did buy a new back door mat, my old one had literally rotted and fallen apart. That's never happened before, a testament to the very wet weather this year.
Home to sit out with coffee and then to plant the bare root wallflowers I'd bought. I've had a return of the cat-c******g-on-the-lawn problem. I find curry powder is a deterrent. I hope that, like the previous occasion, this one eventually gets the message.
Today, a morning to be spent vacuuming and bathroom cleaning followed by an idle afternoon doing whatever takes my fancy.
Have an enjoyable day everyone.
Good morning everyone from Es Caña where we’ve woken to evidence of rain in the night. It’s blowy out at present. The 9am water taxi has just left the jetty. Brr! Not for me that rocking and rolling especially this early in a morning.
So a dress not a swimsuit. A leisurely mug or two of tea in our room, a late breakfast. We dont want to go sightseeing (done it all over the years). We did spend the day in Santa Eulalia yesterday which was a nice change of scenery.
After lunch I saw a lovely clutch bag in a boutique, dithered as to whether to buy it or not, we went for a long stroll and I gave it some more thought, decided to buy it and when we returned to the shop at 3pm it was closed. Aargh! That’ll teach me I thought.
We then spent a couple of hours at outside my favourite bar, people watching and chatting to a lovely retired couple at the next table who hailed from Wales. Himself said to me as we were leaving “Let’s just go back to that boutique - see if it’s open again”. It was. Yay!
Good morning all from an overcast Black country no sun predicted until 4pm.
Haven't read through yet up late and need to be out, I'm helping at playgroup.
A carvery planned for later so no cooking yippee.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans will catch up with everybody's happenings later ☀️
Good morning from Durham. It’s cool, but still outside and another fine day forecast.
I’m meeting my oldest friend for coffee at 10 - she’s a constant worrier about her AC and DGCs, and openly admits she’s over-invested in them (and their dogs). She does far too much for them, but it keeps her busy and active. I only hope they appreciate her, as they take her for granted.
This afternoon an ex-neighbour and friend of DH’s is calling in for coffee. I see him every month - he’s easy company.
I must decide about having more work on the house - it’s hard not having anyone to discuss it with!
Best wishes to all. X
Good morning from Malta where it is thundery and raining.
I’m not feeling well this morning so will just send my best wishes to you all for a good day.☀️
Good morning from West Sussex by the sea. Sunshine again. I went out late last night to look at the moon and took a photo but it doesn’t do it justice.
We spent yesterday taking an older friend to and from a local Nuffield hospital for a procedure to help his back. He has been diagnosed with dementia but seemed to be in top form yesterday. We went to an art exhibition while waiting - still life - some wonderful paintings plus two fantastic ceramic pieces. I was very tired after all the walking round and ‘looking’. I am still not fully recovered from my head injury.
We were planning to go to the cinema today to see ‘Lee’. It’s not until 5pm so I will have a quiet day at home and store up my energy.
Glad you are able to enjoy the sunshine, Blossoming.
Sorry to hear you are struggling, RosesandLilac 💐
Brooke you set a good example for exercise 🙂. Enjoy your walk.
Hope your leg pain improves, Mick.
I will try to post my moon photo.
Good morning from sunny Northumberland.
I’m running late today so will have to get a move on to get down for breakfast.
The last couple of days have been busy, most of Monday was spent touring Alnwick Castle, the tour guides were very informative. Afterwards we had wander around Alnwick including a mooch around Barter bookshop.
Yesterday we drove south to the Beamish open air museum which we last visited over thirty years ago when it was much smaller I’m sure.
Today’s plan is to visit Cragside, a National Trust property. We’ve been before but as we had the dog with us only managed to see the marvellous gardens.
We’ve been so lucky with the weather, it’s been perfect.
Wishing everyone the best day possible.
Good morning all from a misty Glasgow, but it is only 8°C. However, it is expected to rise to 22°C.
I too had an awful night. A nippy PM from a relatively poster left me rather unsettled. There were better ways of stating her point. ☹
Like GM I too had an extremely day. There was much hilarity in the surgery, when I explained to the receptionists, that to save my marriage, I needed an appointment for DH to discuss his hearing loss.
At last he has finally admitted that he is becoming very deaf. Miracles do happen! 🥳
Having checked that the diary was free, I got home to find a mammogram and another appointment awaiting me. No buses appointments for ages, then they all come at once.😉
I had planned to organise the poll for the Glasgow Grans Christmas meet up, but for the life of me couldn't remember how I did it the last time! All sorted now, it is on the Whats App chat.
Anyone wanting to join, please PM me.
Another busy day ahead, I am replenishing the cleaning materials in church. I discovered that the cleaners were providing their own cleaning stuff and informed the new P,P, He was most annoyed and asked me to purchase what is needed. He is such a lovely man, and amazed at all that the parishioners do. He had little help in his previous parish.
I have twice lost my post, so I will just wish you all a pleasant day, whatever your plans.
Good morning from a dry NE where the sun is shining now.
I did not have a good night, have a lot of joint pain at present.
Did the minimum of housework and did some reading.
Last night realised I had leeks that needed making into soup, so made a pot of leek and potato soup.
Had email telling me to make an appointment for RSV vaccination, I was clicking on the times online but each time slot was gone by the time it registered. Did eventually manage but all the appointments were for around 5pm which means travelling during the rush hour.
SIL coming to take me shopping this morning, he returns to Brussels tomorrow. He and DD will come to the UK in a month's time as we have tickets for a Sheku Kanneh-mason concert.
Have a good day.
The moon was glorious last night. I watched it rise and then it shone through my bedroom window about two o'clock.
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and a beautiful morning. It makes you glad to be alive. Pantglas at my last house, a steam train passed close by. Many of us went to wave and I found myself getting quite tearful. I have no idea why. Ash I hope you sleep better tonight. GrandMattie you are a veritable whirlwind.
Yesterday was another nice day with dgs2. He was a very funny wee boy. Dgs1 was shattered when he came from school and just wanted a cuddle. I think he's doing too much after school but not my business.
Today is my lazy day. I intend to do an ironing and then plant the winter flowers and pot up the bulbs. There shall be much consumption of tea in between. Spaghetti bolognaise courtesy of dd for dinner. Enjoy your day
Good morning from a misty Suffolk. The mist last night meant the super moon was only vaguely visible. Perhaps it will be clearer tonight.
Unusually I have an empty today as our keep fit teacher is away on a cruise . I’ve no excuse not to attack the pile of ironing which I should ignore no longer. DH and I are off on Monday to Majorca so I need to know what he wants to take away with us.
We may go for a walk on the common with little dog if this mist clears by mid morning.
Hope today is a positive one for all.
Morning from a sunny S Hampshire, yesterday I caught up with sorting lifts from Monday, fuelled up and then washed my car.
We had the AGM last night for the voluntary group, good to meet people I’ve only spoken to by phone before, we saw the stunning moon on the way home.
Have a great time NannyJan
Hi Blossoming 👋👋
🦩🦩
Good morning all and it’s a bit dreary here in Essex. Sun later on 🤞.
Yesterday I played Bridge in the afternoon and then again in the evening. My partner was our 97 yr old lady who is amazing.
Today Dh will go fishing and I have my ‘old’ pal coming for lunch. We only meet up once a year but it’s like weve never been away. We met at work in London. She was 15 and I was 17.
Sorry to hear you’re struggling RoseandLilac. Look after yourself, sit in that lovely summerhouse and do some craft.😉.
Enjoy your holiday Nannyjan. It looks a beautiful place.
GG hope you get your specs fixed soon. 🤞.
Take care 🌻🍁
Morning Mick, morning All from a clearing corner of Somerset. Sun is due to shine. Wonderful.
Chores done and hair trim survived a trip to a not too busy sea front filled the afternoon yesterday. Hope to be out and about later after some ironing and a chat with the development gardeners about some private work over the winter.
Have the best day you can everyone. Hope Wednesday is kind to us all.
Good morning Mick from a cloudy but warming up South Bucks.
You must have been a teenager Kitty with baby no. 1 👍
We saw The Critic at our cinema this week Ian McKellan was outstanding, can recommend the film.
Good morning from a grey W Kent. Yesterday’s early visit to the paramedic has finally answered my question regarding a lump on my finger. It isn’t a lump as such the bone has deformed with arthritis it was completely different to all my other fingers with arthritis!
Drove out to see DF in the afternoon. Her GC are still quite young and she worries so much about them.
Today is U3A art group, the leader is away so I wonder who will turn up.
Hope your leg feels better soon Mick and your cold llfl
Good morning everyone from mid Essex where it’s mild and cloudy. Sunshine is expected later.
Like karmaladyand rosesandlilac I slept badly last night. I was coughing for most of the night and was hot. I realised that it was very mild overnight and with a slightly heavier duvet, I was cooking! Yesterday I finished cleaning the shower room & not much else. I didn’t see my friend with dementia as I didn’t want to give her or her husband this cold.
Will do some ironing this morning and possibly go for a walk to the pharmacy for more cold cures!
I’m going to stay at DD1s this evening because she’s taking me to an early hospital appointment. I’m seeing a consultant about my left hip, which has become very painful - it kept me awake last night (along with the coughing!).
Have a good day everyone. I hope Mzoops has a good trip to Europe.
Good morning from Lancashire, where the sun is rising on what promises to be another beautiful day.
I have been enjoying the sunshine this week, though I am not able to go out and about it lifts my spirits.
Have a lovely Wednesday 🌻
