Goodness knows, but glad to hear that they’ve seen the error of their ways.

German school trip in 1970 called them Snickers. Probably now we are out of EU they have changed back

Only to be sold for a limited period in Morrisons.

This is what “we” voted for Brexit for. Hurrah.

Just another marketing ploy.
DH loves Caramac and cannot eat normal chocolate as it gives him a migraine. They withdrew it from sale so loads of people, including DH, bought a few, at inflated prices. Now it is back on sale, for a limited time. Cue DH stocking up!

I haven't seen Caramac since the 60's Nandalot. We used to melt it and pour over ice cream when I was a child. It was a real treat. I'm sure Marathon was changed to Snickers because that's what it was called in the States.

I've always called them Marathons. Glad to hear sense is returning at last 😂🤣

Give me strength !!! "Originally Snickers, after the Mars family favourite horse, it was marketed as Marathon in the UK and Ireland between 1967 to 1990. In 1990s to align with global branding, it was changed to Snickers and to differentiate from an unrelated US product called Marathon." Wikipaedia. .So you see nothing at all to do with Brexit!!!

I hope the name change is widely publicised. I knew someone who as a student witnessed a fellow student take a bite of a Snickers bar without realising it was formerly a Marathon, thus containing peanuts. He died as a result.
