Good Morning Everyone
A dark but dry start here in brackley this morning.
My usual routine with bus to Bicester and meet those I know , return watch TV and have the usual Chinese take away later .
On the health front appear OK , but trying to not get to many bad days .
Take Care,
Mick

Fgt2 I’m not a regular poster but love reading the doings. My name was almost the same just missing a few letters in the middle. Hope you have a great time in your special place.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sat 21-Sept-24 15:29:44

Now I’m curious who you used to be GrandmaC47!

Have I missed PittCity posting, as I cannot recall seeing her news for a while?

I was only thinking that the other day GG13. Hope all’s okay. I think they were going on a holiday. USA maybe?

RosiesMaw2 Sat 21-Sept-24 15:23:52

Good afternoon all from N Bucks where the thunder is rumbling overhead. Rosie is my first ever greyhound not to be bothered by thunder or fireworks TG. The other poor hounds were reduced to quivering hyperventilating wrecks , it was heartbreaking not to be able to console them.
Marydoll I am so sorry you had to turn back, however wise a decision. Every “defeat” knocks another bit of stuffing out of us, but discretion is always the better part of valour.
Today (curb your excitement) I am going to sort out my underwear /pj/sock drawers. I need to locate some vests for the cooling temperatures to come and it seems like a good time.
If I have not surfaced by Monday please send the big doggy with the brandy barrel under his chin. 🐶

I’m back albeit in a slightly different guise. For some reason I was logged out and of course I’d forgotten my password. Although I contacted Gransnet for a reset nothing came. Had to use a different address and user name. At least I’ve been able to read your posts but not comment. Happy birthday to those I’ve missed. Lovely holiday photos too. Hope those in pain get relief.
Damp and wet here in the south of Co Durham. No plans for today. Feeling lazy.

Good morning from a bright and promising Belfast.
Had a good night sleep wise.
Garden today needs a lot of attention. I have bought bulbs so I will plant in containers.
Tractors are bringing in siliage getting ready for weather to change next week.
Have a great weekend everyone.

Gingster Sat 21-Sept-24 09:14:13

Good morning all and it’s bright, warm and sunny here in Essex. We don’t seem to get much rain here when other parts get more than their fair share.

Yesterday we planted up the rest of the bulbs - should have a good display in the spring 🤞. Sorted all the pots and baskets , a bit more cutting back today and our tiny garden is ready for a winter sleep.
It will be a different story at our seaside abode as we have a large garden, open to the sea and wind elements. DS1 and 2 will be coming up for a working weekend. They’re such a good help. ❤️.

Yesterday we sat out at our usual pub with our old pals. The sky was blue and it was pleasantly warm. Such a lovely time spent with our good friends.

Today Dh will go to footie. DS1 has ‘things on’ so won’t join him. I’m thinking of hopping on the train to go to see ‘Lee’ At the cinema. I’ll see how the morning pans out and maybe book later in. 🤔. Dd and little DGD might pop in after dance class.

I hope all poorlies improve today and take care everyone. 🌻🍁

Good morning from Fife, Scotland. It's been a lazy morning, but now I'm off out into the mist to walk my dogs. A walk by the river and into the forest always sets me up for the day. Wish you all a peaceful day.

Jaxjacky Sat 21-Sept-24 08:47:03

Morning from high cloud and 15 in S Hants, the storms skirted us yesterday, a tornado 30 miles north, I did hear rain early this morning.
Yesterday nipped to Marks food hall, returning shoes, collecting initialled festive baubles for family, a couple of foodie items fell into my basket too.
Today is newspaper and finding some local soul who really needs a courgette, the two plants are still producing and we’ve had enough!
Delightful for your Dad pantglas.
Enjoy family time and trips out everyone.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a murky South Yorkshire. I went to bed at half past night last and woke up at eight this morning. I should feel refreshed but feel as though I’ve been run over by a bus! Fortunately, apart from some food shopping I don’t have much to do today. I will start knitting the other sleeve of the cardigan I’m making and make a cake with some left over bananas. I really don’t know why I keep buying bananas.
Have the best day you can, folks.

GrannySomerset Sat 21-Sept-24 08:37:16

An empty day in prospect so am in no hurry to get up, but I do have two books to discuss next week and need to get on with them. Hope Marydoll feels better and that all seeing family enjoy it.

Bonnybanko Sat 21-Sept-24 08:26:13

Good morning all from a bright fresh looking day here on the east coast of Fife.
It looks as if it’s been raining during the night, I’ve had a spike in temp and couldn’t get into my paracetamols with one hand so had to suffer the spike. I’m hoping I’m up for a shower today my hair needs a wash not to mention my body.
Bellasnanna it’s good to have a 1 on 1 he’ll love it the wee darling

Have a good day my friends you know who you are

Blossoming Sat 21-Sept-24 08:25:19

Good morning from cloudy Lancashire. The forecast is for sunshine this afternoon. I am late waking, I must have heard my alarm at 7am but I turned it off and went back to sleep. So, I have only just taken my first med and will be one hour behind with the next ones but as it’s Saturday I have no need to rush. MrB is not yet up , we were late to bed, it felt good to have our Friday Film Night, like old times. He had managed to find the full version of Kenneth Branagh’s 1996 film of Hamlet, it is a fabulous film, largely shot at Blenheim. The quality of the camera work is beautiful, the music is lovely and so many top actors. The dialogue is genius but as it’s written by William Shakespeare I expected no less. Branagh himself such a fine actor, Hamlet’s every line delivered impeccably.

The film was not well received when it was first released and Branagh was forced to make a number of cuts, great to see it in its entirety.

MrB provided mint choc chip ice cream for the intermission, it’s a long film now it’s restored.

Nothing planned for today other than much snoozing 💤

Have a great Saturday whatever you’re doing 🌹

Taichinan Sat 21-Sept-24 08:22:48

Good morning Mick and all who follow. It's grey, mizzily and breezy today on the Angus coast, with the breeze coming in from the north east. Perfect weather for tai chi on the beach. Not! This will probably be the last one this year - unless of course we have a lovely October.
Yesterday I had a dental appointment. I genuinely can't remember the last time I had to have anything done - but unfortunately I now know the next time! I couldn't hear what's to be done but at least it's not an extraction 🤞. Something to look forward to a week before Christmas!
Now off I must trot to get ready for the beach ⛱️. I shall come home and read your posts. Have a lovely day, and I hope those feeling under the weather feel better today x

Georgesgran Sat 21-Sept-24 08:19:56

Good morning from another still, cloudy day in Durham. No rain forecast, but very autumnal.
The tumble dryer will be well used today - nothing dried outside yesterday and looks the same again. Still a few loads to wash and a mountain to iron.
While SinL is away, DD2 has DGS2 taken care of. It’s football this morning and she’s meeting up with a friend later, so other than looking after her Little Dog, I’m not needed.
I’ve had the weirdest dream involving Gordon Ramsay - and we weren’t cooking, if you get my drift!! He’s not my type!
Stillearning I felt Sky left me high and dry with the broadband and I had to employ someone else to fit Ethernet cables - through a brick wall!
Malaga again FGT? Enjoy and make the most of these precious times.
Hoping Marydoll is feeling better.
Best wishes to all. X

harrigran Sat 21-Sept-24 08:16:15

Good morning from a grey and damp NE.
Yesterday was a day of doing nothing other than preparing my meals, felt tired and unwell all day. Fell asleep on the sofa and was surprised to find I had slept 1.5 hours.
DS and GD2 are coming today, she always has loads of homework and gets to work after she has had some lunch.
Have a good weekend.

Marydoll Sat 21-Sept-24 08:15:06

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 12°C.

Thank you to those, who sent good wishes yesterday, there are some lovely posters on GN.
In a moment of madness, I decided to attend a funeral, got as far as the church and had to go back home. I foolishly thought I could manage it. I am a stubborn, reckless, old woman, who thinks she is indestructible. 😉
I felt awful and was coughing non stop, which which would have spoiled the whole service. I don't have a bug, it's my COPD, which is misbehaving. I am reluctant to take steroids, because it causes all sorts of problems regarding my biologics.

Furthermore, the church was bursting at the seams, (it holds over 700 people.) and because I am now severely immunocompromised, I have to avoid crowds like that. Imagine having that many people paying their respects.
However, it was being live streamed, so I watched it later, from the comfort of the sofa, where I remained all day.

Today, will be a day of rest, with a bit of parish admin, not very taxing.
Mr MD has plans to jet wash the monoblock and I will then need to clean sand off doors and windows, but it won't be today. Heaven help us all, I do not have the energy to complain.

I am so pleased to see you posting, Blossoming, but concerned that Kalu is very quiet.

I wish you all a pleasant day, whatever your plans.

brook2704 Sat 21-Sept-24 08:14:58

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a grey and misty start to the day
What a lovely few days ahead pantglas enjoy the celebrations!
Nothing much planned for this weekend but I’ll probably go to DD2s and help out with a few jobs
Hope the open studios go well this weekend grammaretto
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Grandmabatty Sat 21-Sept-24 08:14:03

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° with low cloud. GrandMattie you have such stamina! Ash it sounds like a good night although I would struggle with too much noise. Susan I'm glad H's sleepover went well. Pantglas what a lovely few days to look forward to.
Yesterday dd popped in with dgs2 after playgroup for his soup. They stayed for an hour or so then I had a quiet afternoon before going to their house. Dgs2 was so excited to see me again. It was sweet. Dgs1 isn't well and has a virus. He got to stay up and have some of the Chinese takeaway but just wasn't able for it really. Poor wee man. I got more presents and dd and I chilled and blethered til the back of mine when I came home.
Today I'm meeting a friend for breakfast at the local garden centre. It's our usual venue and, despite seeing her on Thursday, we'll have plenty to chat about I'm sure. I'll have to fit a trip to Aldi in and then housework later. I fancy stovies for dinner. Have a good day all

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sat 21-Sept-24 08:03:20

Málaga grandMattie our happy place, while Himself is well. He contemplated a flight from Ibiza to there yesterday but we decided to come home instead for four nights to regroup! Prescription tablets needed topping up etc before we shoot off again.

monk08 Sat 21-Sept-24 08:02:34

Good morning all from the Black country dry at the moment but storms predicted for later.
Need to buy another card for Dgs2 I appear to have lost the one I'd already purchased, think I may have put in the recycling by mistake.
Enjoy your Saturday whatever your plans, will catch up with everybody's happenings later usual full English calling.
Safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed ☀️
