I wonder what you'd like to do if anything was possible
Personally I'd love to return to my teenage years to once again experience being pain-free, slim and full of energy. To have a hug from my lovely mum and dad and say sorry for being selfish to them at times. To have the chance be surrounded by my siblings when we were all carefree and living under the same roof. My dearest youngest brother sadly no longer with us.

I would love to spend the day with my husband before he died unexpectedly so I could hold him in my arms one last time.

flowers.

If anything were possible, I'd love to have the use of a time machine for a while. I'd love to see things like Stonehenge being built (and fast forward to when it was being used to capacity), and also just visit places I know well through the ages. I'd love to see the first people moving into my house, and be able to look at the way it's been decorated over the years - that sort of thing.

I’d like to be able to run really fast as I used to, especially if a bus was coming.
I miss being really really slender with good legs.

I would repeat the years I spent in the WRNS.

Yes I would like to go back but only if I could know what I know now. Pain free, energetic and to have family and pets long departed around, sounds good to me.

I wish I could have had more children as I loved being a mum.

I have few regrets, but one is that I didn't properly appreciate the effort my MiL made in hand-sewing and knitting a beautiful "layette" for our first baby in 1971.
Of course, baby gros had come in and I hardly used the things she made.

Sometimes think I would like to go back & change the choice I had when I picked the wrong one to marry! Then I would not have my wonderful son or my lovely daughter in law & my grandkids who I love so much! So maybe good thing I cannot go back!

Seagull72 Thu 26-Sept-24 15:05:12

I would go back and change some of the decisions I made.

Babs03 Thu 26-Sept-24 14:14:22

@Bluedaisy I don’t remember my teens being so great, of course I would love to be younger in order to not wake up with aches and pains, a dodgy knee and hip, but now at my age I finally feel comfortable in my own skin.

I would like to return to my 20s knowing what I do now. The 1960s were a wonderful time but I did make some decisions I now regret.

One of the decisions I regred is having married. I should never have married anyone. I wasnever cut out to be part of a twosome. However I would never go back on my decision not to have children. I would have made a dreadful parent.

Bluedaisy Thu 26-Sept-24 14:01:55

For some reason I’ve been obsessed with daydreaming back to my late teens lately.
I’d love a day back when my parents were still together and happy, my darling younger brother who passed unexpectedly last year was here and I was slimmer, fit and in love. One thing I’d tell my younger self would be to stop being so anxious about work and stop worrying about what other people think of me. To just enjoy life and be happy, hindsight is a wonderful thing. Just a day of living in the past and make a few different decisions.

I too ponder on my teenage years, and would love to be young ,slim and agile, with brown hair again, but I also realise how immature I was, how I wasted opportunities and how I took so much for granted, particularly my parents.

Schnackie2 Thu 26-Sept-24 13:03:33

I really wish I could go back to so many different ages, but only if I could know then what I know now! I made very many bad decisions.

BigBertha1 Thu 26-Sept-24 12:50:19

Well I was a steaming great idiot and spoilt my chances early on. Everything else has been a compromise so yes I would change it all.

yggdrasil Thu 26-Sept-24 12:38:54

There's a lot I wish I hadn't done. But I wouldn't want to change anything as who knows what would happen instead. Might be worse.

My wedding day......when my Dad offered to give the chauffeur a fiver to take us back home and I told him not to be silly......wish I had let him.

LucyLocket55 Thu 26-Sept-24 11:33:12

I would love to see, talk to and hug my beloved grandmother just one more time

PilgrimQuill Thu 26-Sept-24 11:32:28

The offer is there...

TheWeirdo Thu 26-Sept-24 11:29:50

I'd go back, even for just 24 hours, to see all the gorgeous pets I've lost over the years. Each and every one of them. Dogs, cats, birds, fish, rodents.

Kate1949 Thu 26-Sept-24 09:50:01

Me too Skydancer.

Witzend Thu 26-Sept-24 09:45:21

I would love to have my ‘young’ legs back!

And to have realised when I was young and slim, that having mere 34A, cleavage-less boobs (except when pregnant/breastfeeding) was a blessing rather than something to sigh over.

fancythat Thu 26-Sept-24 09:36:29

I wold like to speak with one of my grannies.
Who died sadly, decades before I was born.

Kate1949 Wed 25-Sept-24 23:54:26

I would like to have been born to different parents but have the same siblings. If that makes sense.
