How horrible for you . I think that it's called acrophobia .
Don't worry most of us have fears in some way or another .
I've never forgotten my childhood friend passing out cold when someone threw a Teddy bear at her.
Suddenly , it all made sense .
She never came to my house and she had no soft toys at her home .
But you need professional advice and help .
Wishing you lots of luck .

This is a phobia and so is an irrational fear, not sure why it has become worse recently. Have you been suffering from anxiety at all?
I have to say that as well as spiders and mice I have a phobia of very large seagoing vessels near to me, say in a harbour, submarines are the worst. I literally can't look at them.
Phobias are weird but lots of people have them.
If you do feel overly anxious recently and this is a manifestation of it you could look up a hynotherapist, some people swear by them when suffering this kind of phobia.
But do think about if there are underlying reasons for this increased anxiety about your phobia recently and visit the GP if this affects your health in anyway.

For 30+ years I have been scared of heights. Recently it has become far worse, scared to go to within a foot of a path with a drop of more then a few feet. Even with railings I am terrified. I know they have stood there for many many years but my mind tells me they are unsafe. My feet, then legs, tingle and pulsate, even watching the tv.
I know that this is irrational.
I am worried I have some form of mental ailment.
I wonder if anyone could enlighten me as to what I could do about it?
