Apologies. Of course I meant susan.
How do you feel about cameras on housing?
Ethical question - how do you feel about second chance??
Apologies. Of course I meant susan.
Good morning from s somerset, it is going to be nice and sunny all day
I spent the whole day busy, on my feet, I had some things to do with de-cluttering paperwork and a cupboard upstairs. I only sat for my meals but standing does keep me warm, sitting makes me feel cold so I stood
First thing, I will ring my hairdresser with apologies for missing my appointment, luckily a short appointment
I pulled some pretty warm drapey fabric out of my stash yesterday and will be making a useful multi-coloured warm top today, all my cardigans will match. I find I am wanting and needing to wear more layers this year
Ds told me that he has long covid, sounds very like his cousin who has also gone from very fit to lacking energy and struggling. This nasty thing has struck very many people for the long-term
I am out to enjoy some sun in a couple of hours
Have a good day
Morning Mick, morning All from a chilly, dry corner of Somerset
Mr C has covid and is proper poorly, tested him yesterday. Now he’s fretting he may have passed it on during our mammoth hospital visit on Tuesday. Of course we had no idea then, understand his worry though. I’m hoping my itchy throat is just that but we’ll pull up the metaphorical drawbridge for a while, no need to venture forth as the fridge is stocked for a siege.
Goodness sarah, what a foolish thing to do with your Mum. You’re brave to even consider buses today mick, I’m starting to be concerned at the weight loss, please think about staying home and contacting your medical team.
My first car (I was 17) was an Austin A30, he was black and called Ollie, had flag indicators needing a thump on the side of the car to get them to work. Hand signals were needed. Ollie was held together by luck and my Dad’s skill. I shed many a tear when he went to be replaced by a Ford. My poor Dad thought I was crazy, I recall his exact words ‘what’s the matter with you, the Ford has far less wrong with it….’ Those were the days.
Thinking of all with personal mountains to climb. Hope Thursday is kind to us all.
Good morning from a brighter N Norfolk. I think we have decided to go home later today. The cottage is lovely and warm but so much rain has made it difficult to get about. It took us seven hours to do a two and a half hour journey to get here and DH is really worried about getting back. I shall do a little shopping at a very nice farm shop a quick lunch and we shall be on our way. DGD2 passed her driving test yesterday, something else for gran to worry about!
Susan what an hour to move your mum. A friend of ours has just been sent home at 9.45pm in pouring rain after being in ICU last week
Best wishes
Susan56. Why do hospitals do this..moving vulnerable people at night without their family there. This is a known cause of increasing delirium. It happened to my DH and increased his delirium which they did not recognise or treat. This was after a mini stroke. Appalling treatment which I haven't as yet complained about to PALS in case he needs to go back to hospital. I fear their vindictive and uncaring staff in the stroke ward of our local hospital. I hope your mother has good care in the rehab ward.
I understand KittyLester I still miss my old red car 🚗.
Pant I also shed a tear when I finally decided to let my head rule my heart and sold my beloved sports car (the P word).
Five litres of German engineering, I’ll never see it’s like again. A three litre Jag took its place - but not in my heart!
Good morning from a sunny South Bucks.
Yes Bellasnana fantastic match in China yesterday.
Off to a Craft Fair today in Beaconsfield, unusual having it on a Thursday.
*Dyane not Diane. Flipping autocorrect.
Good morning everyone from mid Essex, where it’s dry, but cloudy. Hoping for some sunshine later.
I had my rsv vaccination yesterday, fingers crossed no reaction so far. Also saw the surgery paramedic about my aching knee, reassured that there’s no infection, I’m due to have a hip replacement early in November so don’t need any infections now!
Podiatrist this morning and will drop some bags off at the charity shop on the way. After that I may go for a walk. I’ve also got a pair of jeans to take up, they’re pinned and pressed, just need to actually sew the hems.
susan I hope your mum is ok, after being shunted around the hospital in the night.
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning all froma chilly North Leicestershire.
I slept dreadfully after a lively Carer's session held on zoom. And I have a face to face session this afternoon and a Sainsbury's delivery.
I also cried when my Citroën Diane was sold. Silly, as it was being replaced by a Volvo, but I did love it. They are still called Mummy's cars in our family.
Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It is fixing to be a dry day in South Yorkshire but it’s cold at the moment. Heating will kick in shortly (I hope). Mick I hope you feel better today and are taking in plenty of fluids. Maybe speak to your doctor about the weight loss?
I am going out with the walking group this morning. I guess it will be pretty muddy after all the rain we’ve had but it will be nice to be out. Then lunch with DD, and GS if he has no lessons today.
Have the best day you can folks.
Morning all, I had the most perfect Spa experience yesterday, followed by a delicious afternoon tea at a corner table by the window looking over the sea (I love the sea in winter) the waitress really looked after me. I think she felt I was lonely as I was alone, little did she know I was enjoying my own company.
I have a man in this morning to clean my range, after cleaning the blinds and two shelves and contents the other day, I will only have the glassware cupboard to do and the kitchen is well and truly done!
geandMattie we have just had a problem sorted via the Financial Ombudsman, I hope you are also successful 👍🏻
Take care Mick
Pantglas my DH loves his aging 4 X 4 more than me, so I totally understand your feelings towards your car 🤣🤣🤣
asusan56 your poor mum, it must have been scary and confusing to be moved in the middle of the night 🌸
Enjoy your day if you can dear friends 🙋♀️
Good morning from Durham. Apparently we are going to see the sun later.
My visiting Sis-in-law is meeting her old friend at lunchtime and I have a dental appointment late afternoon, after which we are going to see DD1 and DGS1.
Hopefully the gardeners will arrive late morning.
Harsh words Mick but I think you need to stop your gallivanting today and speak to your medical team! ‘Losing weight rapidly’ without trying needs to be investigated.
Best wishes to all. X
Good morning from Malta where the high is going to be 34°C.
I had a lazy day yesterday, thoroughly enjoyed the tennis. It was a fantastic match and both deserved to win but Alcaraz had the edge.
Today I need to go out for a few bits then I must finish packing as I’m away to Krakow tomorrow. I will be meeting my old college friend who lives in the Isle of Man. We decided to go somewhere neither of us has been before and this was her pick.
Hope you will be ok Mick, brave of you to venture out with a gippy tum,,
Glad you’re feeling better monk welcome back.☺️
Wishing you all a good day.☀️
Good morning from a dry Torbay with a forecast of sunshine all day!
DH is off to Camborne to visit a model railway shop whilst I have provisional plans to visit my ailing friend (from the Props team) in hospital. Her oncologist is considering surgery for a gastric issue but that will only be confirmed this morning. I await news from her DH as to whether it is happening.
On Tuesday, the steroid injection was administered to the first knuckle of my (wedding) ring finger. My knee received similar treatment in August but with no lasting benefit, sadly. Apologies for any confusion.
I hope those with worries of any kind find relief and travellers go safely. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩
Good morning all from a dark but dry Black country.
Having been AWOL for a week feeling more like myself, have had some virus that all I've wanted to do was sleep.
No plans but will take a little stroll round local shops to gently get me back to normal.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some 😀
Good morning from Shropshire where a dry day is forecast.
Yesterday I felt exhausted so after I had done all the necessary chores I sat and read my new book dozing intermittently.
I was woken by a phone call at 11pm to say they were moving mum to a rehabilitation ward during the night🤷♀️she is already scared and confused so I am not sure moving her through the hospital in the middle of the night will have helped. We will go and see her later.
I am sorry you are facing more anxiety grandMattie.
Pantglas I had a little MG pre children and wept when it went🙈
Have the best day you can everyone🦩
Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I’m still in bed so no idea about the weather.
I will spend time typing up the notes from the WI committee meeting. Not a bad meeting and we packed a lot in.
OH and I are going out for lunch to our favourite riverside restaurant. I don’t think it will be warm enough to sit outside!
We had a new wooden shoe holder for the hall delivered yesterday. It is perfect apart from one thing - the colour wood I chose isn’t exactly like the picture online! I think we’ll get some varnish and do it ourselves.
Have a good day, especially those of you with difficulties.
Good morning from south Glos, it’s dry here too 🤞🏻
I forced myself to carry on with the Aran cardigan for my great niece yesterday, 10 rows later I noticed a mistake and had to unpick it back to where I’d started 🤬 iIt isn’t particularly complicated, it’s just that I can’t do it without reading every damn row of the pattern. I had done the back and one front, starting on the second front. Gritting my teeth and will carry on today
Housework and usual chores today, hair cut first thing and art group later.
Hope we all get some sunshine today too 🌹
Good morning Mick from a dark and dry north Wales (hope you’re well enough to be hopping on buses …🤞)
An MOT today for our Spanish plated Jazz before we put her back on British plates and, whisper it, sell her…🤫 wish we needed two cars as she’s been an absolute joy and sailed through every MOT and has only done 53000 miles - how silly am I getting attached to an old jalopy 🤦♀️
Will pop in later and check on your doings but hope those in the sick bay are on the mend and everyone else is up to all sorts…😉
Good morning from a chilly, dry Bristol.
Glad that you have started to sort out your meds and weight loss, Mick.
Yesterday was interesting. We had a coffee morning for the complex. Only 6 residents turned up - out of 30 households. We normally have quite a few more.
In the afternoon, DD collected me after Iris’ riding with RDA. (Last year, she was with the Princess Royal)! The drive back took forever as we got caught in the evening rush.
Iris was absolutely delighted with her presents - the apron and more so with the monogrammed flannels.
I received a mail from the recovery agents saying that, as three bank accounts were involved, they have to make there separate complaints to the Financial Ombudsman. More delays, more anxiety.
Today, I have tai chi. More sewing, trying to finish that quilt. I’ve gone off it for myself.
I hope you all have a gentle day. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
