I usually go out on Fridays but my friend has cancelled. I'm looking forward to a nice day with no commitments but haven't decided what to do. What would you do if you had a free day?

Weather permitting go for a nice walk if you can, treat yourself to coffee and cake, or a nice lunch. Then go home and have a couple of hours with Netflix and a nice cuppa.
That’s what I’d do.

When Paw was more or less housebound and only got out when I took him anywhere I used to long for an “empty” - to have the house to myself….be careful what you wish for.
#justsaying.
But more seriously it’s rather nice to have a sudden free day.
You could go off on a jolly, or treat yourself to a nice lunch out, or just sit and read a book - but on no account use the day for any kind of work!

Postscript...

Ah - I see it's for tomorrow (Friday) - so you do have the whole day.

And I've gained a day, so to speak, because I thought today was Friday.

What have you decided on?

... so... what did you do with your free day? smile

I find when someone cancels like that, it takes a while to mentally 'change gear' as you're prepared - and dressed - for the occasion. Then as it dawns on you that you have the whole day to yourself, the possibilities become endless!

However, in your case - judging by the time of your post - it was already almost mid-afternoon - but still time for some self-indulgence!
