Good afternoon, I’m just back from painting class, via the hairdresser !
The one lift does two destinations and my daughter is in the hairdresser before me so I get home with her
It keeps threatening rain , but it’s not a bad day at the minute ,
* GM I’m so sad for you , I hope you get some news to cheer you 💐

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
I’m off early afternoon to pick up my DS to travel to Warwickshire for my late DH’s cousin’s 90th birthday do tomorrow. He would have been 90 today 😢. We will share the driving. I quite like motorway driving, but not the messing around in towns stuff.

Nice surprise yesterday when the doorbell rang and my close soprano friend who is also a nurse, stood there in her uniform. She was travelling around doing diabetic tests. I had to apologise for for state of me and the place😁We had a cuppa and a chat.
You do need seeing to Mick and thoughts to Susan grandmattie and all.🌺

Good morning all. The sun's up on the Angus coast, but in a cloudier sky than yesterday. Good to see it was gorgeous in a lot of places - here it was a spectacular day of blue sky, sunshine, sparkling sea and autumn colours.
DGD3 visited after her uni classes were over for the day and after lunch we went for a stroll along the beach to work up an appetite for a Chinese meal before she set off for home. I so enjoyed her company.
Grandmattie I'm so sorry that you're feeling down and despondent just now. Those scammers have no idea - and wouldn't care anyway - how much lasting distress their actions cause. What I wouldn't like to do to them!! I'm glad your DD is helping you out with the paperwork.
Mick I'm glad you're going to consult somebody about your worrying weight loss.
LATER. Much later! Well, so much for getting up early and posting early. I had a good night's sleep after all yesterday's exertions - DGD's visit followed a morning of tai chi - came downstairs and cosied up beside the radiator to have my breakfast and promptly fell asleep! So I'm back to my usual 'I'll catch up with all your news later'. Today, if I can wake up 😉, I'm out to lunch with my fellow tai chi instructors and then it will have to be a quiet weekend of recouperation. There was a time when I could race around like the proverbial fly ..........
I hope the sun is shining wherever you are - it makes our troubles so much easier to bear I always find. By the way I bought one of those SAD lamps a couple of weeks ago and it has worked a treat - we've had glorious weather everywhere since 🌞

grandMattie Fri 04-Oct-24 08:48:10

Thank you much for your kindness…
Three, three things are taking forever - there’s the financial one to come which may take up to two years.
I went to a solicitor in October last year to sort out probate for DH, yet to be done.
Finally, the chap from the Coop who started proceedings in early Match for a PoA has disappeared off the face of the earth; seven months lost…
It’s not too much, as an old friend used to say, it’s become three much!
Hugs and grateful thanks for your concern.

Good morning everyone from another bright and sunny 🌞 day in Northampton. Just put another load of washing in the machine; got two loads beautifully dried outside yesterday. Breakfast shortly then will get ready for dance classes; should be able to do all three today.

A pleasant afternoon yesterday going to the library to collect my reserved book; I also found another book I've been wanting to read, the third in a series of spy thrillers. Walked home, all down hill, in the lovely sunshine.

A quiet afternoon at home today then an early dinner before I set off for tonight's rugby match. A fine evening is forecast and should be a good match. We have been invited to download an app onto our phones to take part in a phone light show which should be fun!

Take care everyone, and have a good day.

Morning from a bright S Hants, a blissful night of no coughing!
It’s a cloud hanging over you gMattie despicable 🌹
Safe journeys bellasnana and brook ✈️
Susan good about your Mum, you need some tlc too, as does Roses take care you two.
A large shop yesterday for the small overflow freezer, my first big supermarket trip for six years, I haven’t missed it! Washing dried yesterday and I’ll wash my favourite, much worn fleece today whilst the sun is playing out. A smaller Tesco deliver pm, pub later.

Good morning all.

On Tuesday we found a very small hoglet in the road outside which we brought indoors. We weighed it at 240g so it was too small to be out on its own. We had it checked over be a vet who said it seemed healthy. Then we spent 2 days trying to find a rescue which would take it as they are all full but found one late on Wednesday. Sadly it died overnight before we could take it in.

Yesterday we went to NT Dyrham House as it was a beautiful day. We had excellent sandwiches from their café after a long walk, the best we’ve had in years. Getting back to the car park from the house entailed a long wait for a minivan as many people were waiting. They had 2 electric buses previously but although only 3 years old, they have been scrapped. “Baked bean cans bolted together” said the driver - built in China.

Have a good day everyone. Thinking of GM and Susan56 with their worries.

Morning Mick, morning All from a sunny corner of Somerset

Admin and laundry dealt with yesterday I’m hoping for a little garden pottering time today. Mr C is steady I think is the word, nowhere near as poorly or dramatic as his first encounter with covid he’s sleeping a lot and coughing less. It’s heartening. Thank you all for your kind thoughts

I feel both sad and angry in your behalf grandmattie, and so sorry the experience has left you feeling as you do. A hug and love on its way. No wonder you’re exhausted susan, go gently. Although the wrong way to go about it your Mums new ward does sound more appropriate. Getting advice on your weight loss is sensible mick, enjoy those fish and chips. Pleased you’re on the mend grandmab, take it steady. Safe trip brook, Cambridge is a city with very happy memories for us.

Best move, two parcels to be collected so best be dressed before the postie arrives. They’re for our grandson, one has two books he’ll enjoy the other, don’t laugh, some spring bulbs for his garden box on wheels Mr C made him when he was either two three, can’t recall now. We took him to choose plants for it, autism has dictated it remains our job to keep it stocked. Anything offered by his parents is firmly rejected.

With thoughts to everyone finding life tough. Hope Friday is kind to us all.

Update…

The 9yr old went into school at 8am, we said if he starts to feel poorly to tell his teacher, this way he will not get an absence mark. (The school is cracking down on sick days and holidays)

Susan time to take care of yourself 🌸🌸🌸

I am now going to the gym with coffee and catch up afterwards.

Good morning from what looks like another lovely day in Suffolk. I think I am beginning to emerge from the nasty cold and its symptoms and DH so far has escaped it.

He swears by the nasal drops recommended by a friend years ago which have worked well for him on several occasions as long as they are used at the first symptom of a cold.

I should, since I feel Ihave more energy, start on the huge pile of post holiday ironing but I think a seat in the sun will win hands down.

Looking forward to normal life with my regular classes and seeing friends will recommence next week.

Thinking of those who are unwell or with worries.

GrannySomerset Fri 04-Oct-24 08:18:05

Glorious autumn morning with interesting clouds so not sure what the day will bring in the way of weather. Oldies coffee morning will be the social highlight so some chat will,be welcome.

I feel so angry on gM’s behalf and so hope there is a positive outcome soon. There is no fate bad enough for scammers!

EkwaNimitee Fri 04-Oct-24 08:11:30

Good morning Mick and everyone from a rather cloudy Carlisle. Earlier, there was a beautiful, pre-dawn sky with pretty little pink clouds floating across the pale blue.

I was busy all yesterday, ironing, sorting clothes out, food delivery and popping into town. There's more ironing and sorting out to do today plus a bit of fettling plants in the garden. I need to keep watering my bare root wallflowers I planted recently, we haven't had any useful rain in the last few days.

Best wishes to all of you and yours feeling poorly, there seems quite a bit of that about?
And have a good day all.

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 04-Oct-24 08:01:49

The river had burst its banks where we had lunch yesterday. We were here in the summer and my granddaughter played on this stage. She’d need a boat or swim to it now!

harrigran Fri 04-Oct-24 08:00:54

Good morning from a dry NE where the sun is shining.
No side effects from my RSV vaccination on Wednesday, not even a sore arm.
Yesterday was spent doing small jobs around the house, washing window sills and cleaning radiators. Rest of the time I spent reading my book.
Sorry you are still having problems with the bank grandMattie, I had an email from the bank warning me that the rules have changed regarding claims after scams.
Today I am going out for lunch with my friend, the same restaurant we visited last month. It is situated in an old part of town that is being regenerated.
Have a good day.

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 04-Oct-24 07:58:46

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

I’m sorry to hear you’re feeling so low GM🌹

We are having our flu and Covid jabs today. Our Health Centre doesn’t give Covid jabs anymore so we’ve made appointments for both at a local pharmacy.

We need to get into holiday mode. We are off on a cruise in France next Thursday. I have to book taxis, airport buses etc. I’ve already cancelled the papers and talked to my neighbour about feeding the cats.

Have a good day everyone.

monk08 Fri 04-Oct-24 07:58:32

Good morning all from a sunny Black country, yesterday was lovely and sunny all day washing dried a treat.
Today we have our flu jabs.
Later we are at DS for tea then out with friends to celebrate their birthday.
Best wishes for anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Fri 04-Oct-24 07:57:01

Good morning everyone from sunny Málaga. It’s 22°C now and 32°C is forecast today. We were going to get the train and have lunch and the afternoon in Fuengirola but we were out all day yesterday and have decided to stay home in the gardens. It’s very quiet now as the pools are taped off and the garden bar has closed too. I did wonder if the bar might stay open for October half term but as Himself said, without the pools families will probably go down to the beach so it’s not worth their effort.

The washing machine cycle is almost finished. I will peg out the laundry, have some breakfast and we will go out for coffee.
Have a good day all who can. My thoughts are with those of us going through tough times.

Ashcombe Fri 04-Oct-24 07:54:50

Yes, Beechnut, DH has a whole stone barn (20x16) full of railway at his home in France. . With no dependents, he indulges his hobbies to the full. Don’t let me start on the cost of photography! 🙄

luluaugust Fri 04-Oct-24 07:54:27

Good morning from a dry W Kent. Our journey back from Norfolk was much easier than the one there thank goodness. A quick turnaround now and then off to Scotland to see DD1
DGD1 is 18 today and we shall see her on Sunday.
gM flowers
R&L flowers
Susan take care of yourself
Best wishes to all those not feeling well

Safe journey to you, too Brook

GrandmaC47 Fri 04-Oct-24 07:53:45

Good morning from Kinross. Not looked out yet. Finally arrived yesterday after a long day. As we travelled to railway station a series of messages from LNER. Advised that our train was delayed due to trespassers on the line. (I was impressed by the messages). Apparently someone had climbed the pylon carrying the electric current over the railway viaduct in Durham. The upshot being all trains north and south were at a standstill. We finally reached Edinburgh 58 minutes late. We are entitled to a 50% refund, but had it been one minute later it would have been 100%.
Beautiful sunny day for travelling. Magnificent views of Durham Cathedral and the beautiful Northumberland coast. Photos of Berwick from the train and a huge passenger liner moored near the Forth bridge taken from the coach.
Hope everyone with illness and stress and worries and feel better soon. 👋 for Georgesgran

Grandmabatty Fri 04-Oct-24 07:53:01

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 9° and dry. Susan you're doing too much. Take care of yourself too. Mattie I feel very sad for you. This financial fraud is so awful. Bellasnana safe journey.
Yesterday I felt a little better. I managed to clean the kitchen cupboard and get the tins/packets back in and make a pot of leek and potato soup but that's all I achieved all day. My glands are down too, so it looks like I'm on the mend. I don't have much appetite so the soup was enough for dinner.
Today I will be taking things very easily and resting. I was awake again in the night for a couple of hours and I'm tired. Moan moan moan! Hopefully I'll be back to normal soon. Have a good day all

brook2704 Fri 04-Oct-24 07:47:31

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve light rain and a few clouds around
gMattie sending 💐
Good to hear your mum is in a better ward Susan I hope she’s settled there ok
I’m really looking forward to going to DD1s in Cambridge today, Im on the lunchtime flight to Luton and then onward onto Cambridge. Hopefully I’ll be there just after the boys finish school
Safe travels Bellasnana and enjoy your time away
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Redcar Fri 04-Oct-24 07:32:51

Good morning everyone from mid Essex, where it’s dry and sunny at the moment, not warm though!
Visited the podiatrist yesterday and my toes are comfortable now. I’ve made an appointment to have the nails cut again just before my hip operation.
My aching knee is slowly improving 🤞I had obviously upset it by stretching up to clear a shelf in the garage.
susan you definitely need to look after yourself, hospital visiting is exhausting in itself, but worse when you are worried about your mum. encouraging that she is now being looked after in a different ward with appropriate care.
GG13 I hope your GS feels better this morning, there are a lot of bugs going around in schools at the moment!
Have the best day possible everyone.

BigBertha1 Fri 04-Oct-24 07:32:20

Good morning from a bright, dry Melton Mowbray. Perfect day for golf anyone care to join me. By the way a Big Bertha is a type of golf club. I am of course a small size 10grin
