Welcome!

Thank you for all your support, especially of late. I greatly appreciate your patience. You are truly the best.

Buffet is open. For those who enjoy a glass of bubbly, there is plenty in the chill cabinet.

Enjoy!

I must away for a wee while. I shall catch up later. flowers

Thank you all.
Grannmarie quite positive news for you and another “ satisfied customer” of the NHS.
Like it or knock it , it seems those of in the kitchen are being looked after and are very grateful for its care.
My GD has arrived in Grasmere, she didn’t know where she was being taken, and is currently heading for the spa.

Grannmarie Thu 07-Nov-24 12:24:06

UsedToBeBlonde, I'm sorry to hear about your health situation, but sounds like they're keeping a close eye on you, and as you say, for once age is in your favour. Sending love and prayers that things stay manageable for you. 💕🙏Many happy returns to your DGD, and best wishes for her future happiness. 💕

Well I'm home now from my Cardiology appointment, thanks again for all kind wishes and prayers, very much appreciated. A very busy but well run clinic, the doctor apologised for the delay in following up my treadmill test from February 23!! Although I've had no further 'episodes' he hasn't completely ruled out the possibility of angina, and he has noted the family history of heart disease, so I've had a blood test to see if I need a scan, meanwhile, keeping taking the tablets. I'm OK with that, very thankful. 🙏

Hairdresser this afternoon, then early dinner with my friend who celebrates her birthday this weekend. We can't manage late nights any more!

TOYA, especially those with worries, illness or sorrow. Wishing everyone the best Thursday possible. 🥰

Usedtobeblonde Thu 07-Nov-24 08:39:14

Good morning all.
You are such a lovely group and I thank you one and all.
Today is my GD’s b’day, she is 26 and one of my constant worries is what will she do when I am no longer here.
Well , she has a lovely boy friend now, she has known him as a friend for over 2 years but they are now “getting serious”.
He is whisking her off to a luxury hotel in the Lake District for a couple of days.
It is a huge weight off my mind and I pray it will last, she does not have contact with her mum and limited with her dad.

After routine blood tests at prescription renewal time I was asked to have more, it seems I have the markers for Myeloma, a blood and bone marrow disorder.
I had more bloods done yesterday to see if it is stable which it can be for some time.
If so I will have them every three months .
My GP did explain that for once my age is with me as I may not get the serious effects in my lifetime but it is taking me some time to get my head round such a diagnosis.

I join the many of you dealing with the knowledge that life is precious and very fragile.

Thank you Neine.🥰

Love ❤️ your boots!

Granmarie... I'm off to Mass this morning so will offer up prayers that all will go well with your appointment today.
Yia...I hope Mr Yia feels better soon...and may your friend rest in peace.
Redcar... I'm thinking of you ( prayers too) that all will be well tomorrow. Well done on being organised. We had only moved in to the cottage 13 days before my op and our bedroom is on the top floor!! and DOH as he was then could only be with me for 2 days before returning to work. Looking back I have no idea how I managed as being new to the area knew nobody and no family to help either. At least when the revision op is done it will be very different.
Soop....hopefully not too long to wait now and Mr Soop will be sorted and then back home to be looked after by his devoted head nurse. ♥️
UTBB...I am sorry life is hard for you just now...we are hear to listen and share if you want to unburden. I think you should treat yourself to a special pudding ( M and S?).
Jax...I hope your cold is improving...a box of Monster Munch made me laugh....typical boy bless him.
I'm struggling with the return of the hamstring pain again...same place as before so the clutching of my btm when I walk or bend is once more ever present. Like I have said before....it's fine at home but not so great in M and S food hall. Talking of M and S...I had a moment in there last week and bought a pair of pink sparkly boots ...they are from the children's section but the size 5 fitted perfectly. They stayed in the car for days until I plucked up the courage to show DH....he just laughed and said ' they are so you'.
Maturity is obviously on hold....

Just want to wish granmarie well for the cardiology appointment today. I’ll be back later!

Usedtobeblonde Thu 07-Nov-24 02:08:12

Hello everyone, another bad night for me, they are becoming the norm sadly.
I am catching up on news at this late hour and Nannytopsy ‘s post brought back a memory for me.
Many years ago we regularly went on weekends away with 2 other couples, one of them was spent in the Cotswolds at a hotel in Mickleton called the Three ways Hotel which was home to the Pudding Club.
For dinner there was a choice of lots of old style puddings which in my memory were mostly of the steamed sponge variety.
We had some wonderful times and it brought back such happy memories.
I am mostly in the quiet corner now watching you all and listening to your doings.
Life is particularly stressful at present so not going to burden you but I am mindful of your happenings and empathising with you all.

Nannytopsy Wed 06-Nov-24 23:33:54

LLFL, I think that sort of conversation about medical issues is called an organ recital!
Grannmarie good luck tomorrow and also best wishes to MrS. Does he have a date yet? How long do you expect him to be in hospital soop?
We are having a Pudding Club in the village at the weekend. People will be provided with a table laden with delicious puddings, cream and custard. I am making lemon possets, a sultana butterscotch pudding and a mixed fruit crumble. My low carb diet will have an evening off.

Grannmarie Wed 06-Nov-24 23:14:40

Thank you, Cornergran and YiaYia. 🥰

Yiayia4 Wed 06-Nov-24 22:55:56

Good luck tomorrow Grannmarie. Hope all is well.

cornergran Wed 06-Nov-24 22:29:09

I’m so sorry yia. There are just too many of these losses as we mature flowers.

Hope all goes well tomorrow granmarie and you’re seen on time. We often felt we had moved in with the staff at Mr C’s cardiology appointments. Delays seemed both inevitable and interminable.

Sleep time here. Nigh night.

Grannmarie Wed 06-Nov-24 22:03:31

Thank you, Jaxjacky and NannyG4. 🥰

NannyG4 Wed 06-Nov-24 21:47:06

Yiayia….condolences, so sad. Hope your DH feels a little better soon.
granmarie….good wishes for your appointment tomorrow

❤️💐

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 06-Nov-24 21:43:25

Hello kitchen people.

Good wishes to the Soops and especially Mr Soop. I hope all goes well.

I had a good time at the WI coffee morning. We are all of a ‘certain age’ so there was a lot of medical talk!

Lunch was delicious. OH and I went to a pub which we’ve only gone to in the summer before and sat outside. Today we ate indoors and it was lovely. I had potted shrimps, Pumpkin and mushroom risotto and raspberry sorbet.

Then this evening it was the WI committee meeting. I took copious notes which I’ll have to type up. I ordered a new PC today which I’ll collect tomorrow. My current one is over 10 years old and getting creaky in its old age.

Sleep 💤 tight.
