Welcome!

Thank you for all your support, especially of late. I greatly appreciate your patience. You are truly the best.

Buffet is open. For those who enjoy a glass of bubbly, there is plenty in the chill cabinet.

Enjoy!

I must away for a wee while. I shall catch up later. flowers

‘Evening All’.

Oh what a nightmare journey one way and another for your dear man soop. You will have been agitated and anxious on his behalf I’m sure. I bet you didn’t sleep great that night either for worrying. Anyway he’s home safe, staple-free and a fresh dressing today. You can both rest easy this weekend hopefully in sheer relief that it’s done.

Himself has had his Covid and ‘flu jabs this morning. At the pharmacy below us, so handy. Both in the same arm - Max our kind pharmacist said at least if it gives him a bit of gyp in that area he’ll be able to sleep on his other side. Thoughtful. We are so lucky with our independent pharmacy. We always support them. Here 10years now and Boots in the square won’t miss our bit of trade. 😊

To our northern friends, stay warm and be careful when going out.

Oh poor Mr Soop what an ordeal for him and so much stressful travelling. How awful that the first two hotels were so unhelpful, so pleased he’s home now and resting, he’ll be worn out and so tired
I’m just home after being out all day, a few things to do in town and then a visit to DD2s. The pavements were really icy so I had to take my time, I’m always afraid of slipping these days
Neine sending a gentle hug and ❤️
One for you too nannyG4 ❤️
It’s always good to have a catch up grandmabatty pleased you enjoyed it and your lunch out

Grandmabatty Fri 22-Nov-24 17:15:35

Poor Mr Soop. That sounds just awful. I'm glad he was accommodated but even gladder he's home. You take care too Soop. I've had a lovely catch up with school friends from very long ago. We enjoyed a lovely lunch and a blether. A sandwich for dinner. Neine 💐 I hope you feel better soon.

Oh soop/what a dreadful experience for your poor husband, Thank goodness the Holiday Inn were compassionate and looked after him. I hope he’ll soon be feeling better.
Hoping that all those in need of some tlc can find help.

A very warm welcome to lulu and BlueSapphire.

Thank you dear Baggs for passing on my message.

MrSoop is sleeping. He has been knocked for six since his nightmare visit to the Queen Elizabeth hosp in Glasgow. He had staples removed from his scalp and was feeling tender as he approached Buchanan bus station for the four hour journey home. Only, of course, the entire area had been cordoned off. A "bomb alert". The streets were teaming with police and people were standing some distance away, in the bitter cold, not knowing what to do. I suggested that he book into an hotel for the night. Easier said than done. The first two hotels would not give him a room because he hadn't booked on-line! How crazy is that. They could see how distressed he was and knew of the lockdown. The third hotel, the Holiday Inn, went out of their way to make him comfortable. He was allowed to speak to me on the reception phone. As he had not taken his special chair in which he sleeps to alleviate severe leg cramps, he had an awful night. Thank goodness he was warm and safe. He caught the midday bus yesterday. Was home by four o'clock. Twenty eight hours spent in aid of a forty-five minute appointment. This morning he had the dressings changed in in Campbeltown hospital. All things being equal, in February he may have what could be the final skin graft.

I am away to take good care of him. Bless you all for your kind thoughts. Bless all of our Granspals in need of extra tender loving care. flowers

Good afternoon lovely ladies.

I’ve not been in the kitchen for a little while so I may not be up to date with all your comings and goings. I’m so pleased to hear Mr Soop is home, I wish him a speedy recovery from his surgery…he must take it easy, and you Soop 💐
Life is trundling on, some good days and bad days. As Christmas gets nearer, I’m becoming more anxious…….
Some of you sound so organised!!
I hope those with poorly partners/husbands are taking care and looking themselves and life is as good as it can be.

I’m just getting ready to go to a weekend wind down yoga evening, I’ve been once before and it is a lovely relaxing evening.

Love, prayers and strength to each and everyone of you…..

Neine, 💐🙏

GrannyGravy13 Fri 22-Nov-24 14:38:34

Pleased to hear mr.soop is back safely, sounds like a rest is in order.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Fri 22-Nov-24 13:43:02

Sorry to hear you’re not so good Neine. Physically or mentally - I hope you feel better soon.

GrannySomerset Fri 22-Nov-24 09:07:48

Glad to know that Mr Soop is safely home and hope there is good news of him soon. Thoughts with Yia and her DH and hope things improve soon. I can feel Marydoll’s frustration - it is maddening when one’s carefully crafted prose vanishes. Nothing interesting to report here where keeping warm seems to be a full time job - and it’s only November.

Naughtyneine Fri 22-Nov-24 08:17:44

Quick message as I'm not too great.
I'm so pleased Mr Soop is back home and hope he feels much better very soon. Soop you must be so relieved to have him back safe.
Yia...I hope the doctors treating your DH can sort out the ongoing problems and he too feels better and happier soon.
Love to all...keep safe and warm.

Charleygirl5 Thu 21-Nov-24 23:18:54

Good to hear that Mr Soop is home safe and sound. Not the weather to be gallivanting so far. Hopefully you will both sleep well tonight.

cornergran Thu 21-Nov-24 22:50:08

Thank you for the message baggs. Good to know you’re coping too.

Hope Mr and Mrs soop sleep well tonight. Thinking of you both and all dealing with challenges.

Unusually my eyes won’t stay open, time to try for sleep. NNGB

Redcar Thu 21-Nov-24 21:35:36

Thank you for passing the message on baggs. Poor mrsoopI hope he recovers comfortably at home. yia I’m sorry your DH is having such a rough time and hope that the doctors can give him some relief.
Night night all.

Grannmarie Thu 21-Nov-24 21:34:51

Thank you Baggs, poor brave MrSoop, he'll be so glad to be welcomed home to Soop's TLC.
Thinking of you too, Baggs.

Grandmabatty, the Wee Boy's Mummy was at their school on Monday for the same event, we'll see the books when we go through there tomorrow.

YiaYia, so sorry to hear about your husband, hope things improve for him soon. Look after yourself too! Thinking of you both. 💕

Cornergran, I'm glad you had a more positive experience at the dentist. Sorry to hear about your friend.

Beautiful photos, brook and Jaxjacky. Very seasonal. 🌨 ❄ FGT, I see you say "mittens", where I come from they were known as "pawkies", I'm not even sure how to spell it cos I've never seen it written. 🤣

This morning, along with several friends and former colleagues, I attended the funeral Mass of the retired janitor of the school I taught in for 32 years. He was loved by staff and pupils alike, a lovely man and a brilliant "Jannie". He was a great reader of crime fiction and used to pass on his Jack Reacher, Alex Cross and Lincoln Rhyme books to me, introducing me to that genre. A day of many memories.

Wishing everyone a peaceful Thursday evening. I have discovered the final ( fourth) season of the Elena Ferrante Neapolitan novels on Sky, I'm back to binge watching but I will be sorry when this exquisite series comes to an end. 📺 🍷😍
TOYA, NNGB.
