A "like" button would be nice!

The danger of a like button, as some of us on other boards have found, that it can become a popularity/competitive contest and people are afraid to post and get no likes. Has the opposite effect than greater interaction sadly.

I believe mumsnet tho it has a like button its only visible to the person whose post has been liked to avoid this. But unless you get an email alerting you to this like you still would have to trawl through.

Not in favour here. Don't like the idea of a like button.

I think a like button would be excellent along with email notifications when you've been quoted (as is the case on Mumsnet). As it stands you have to trawl through the thread to see if your comment has any replies. I've often missed some rather nice or humorous responses from fellow Gransnetters, which I think is a shame. These facilities would make the site more interesting and encourage greater interaction between members.

Why not use a smilie, flowers, hand clap emoji from your keyboard.

This has been a topic many times on Gransnet and opinion is divided. Seems like admin are not interested either. Sorry gentleshores

Does anyone else think a "like" button would be nice?! I read some great posts and then they sort of get lost in the ether - you can't really quote every post and say how nice it is or how you agree.

Also a smilies button - it's quite tedious typing brackets and words!

A request to admin really! But interested to see if anyone else thinks the same.
