Here in South-East Wales it's dull and overcast, but not actually raining (at the moment). Today we are taking our son out for lunch at a Toby Carvery. He's getting married (2nd time) in two weeks and his fianceé is away this weekend at Butlin's in Minehead!

NannyJan it’s a Loungers below us at home! Wonderful for brunch with the family of a weekend. Ours is called Bevano - after Nye Bevan. A nod to the fact that the district general hospital up the road where I worked was visited by him in 1946 when he officially opened it as the first NHS hospital in the country.

You’ve shattered my illusions FGT. - I imagined “Bevano” was some sort of Italian/Latin exhortation to share a bevvy!
“Bevano, chaps!” 🍻🍻

Good morning everyone from a damp Northampton, more showers expected throughout the day, so it will be a day indoors for me. Will read the Sunday paper, do the puzzles, watch some tv.

Very pleasant doing my top-up shop yesterday in the lovely sunshine 🌞🌞. Stocked up with sausages, bacon and meat in M&S - the two DGDs are staying with me from Thursday to next Sunday, so I need plenty of stuff in. Have no idea what teenage girls eat for breakfast these days, so a message is needed to their mum.

Got back from the shops yesterday and was straight out into the garden with the lawn mower; was heavy going, as it had been about three weeks since its last cut. Checked inside the summerhouse and the floor was wet in each corner, but can't work out how the rain is getting in. Worrying.....

Thinking of you today Maw flowersflowers

Have a good Sunday everyone.

Good morning everyone from Essex, where the sun has come out, after a grey but mild start to the day.
Had my flu jab yesterday morning, appointments at 3 minute intervals and 4 medics administering the vaccinations. I was in and out in 5 minutes! I have an achy arm, but that’s all. Hope the Covid jab will be similarly painless.
Did a little gardening in the afternoon. A machine load of washing was done and dried outside. I’ll do the ironing today.
One or both DDs may call in later, I’ll get one of them to read the gas & electricity meters for me as they’re in a very small low cupboard that I can’t see into.
I hope the day is kind to everyone. I’ll read everyone’s posts later.

Good Morning from Yorkshire.
We had rain in the early hours ,now just damp and very Autumnal looking.
Still trying to recover after covid so an easy day at home today before Mr r attempts to return to work tomorrow.

Good morning Mick and all from Warwickshire after a lovely 90th birthday celebration yesterday. My late DHs cousin and bittersweet as they were born two days between each other and often had a joint celebration. Delicious food which broke the cycle of my two indifferent meals out recently.

In the evening, I went into Stratford on Avon with DS and shared a pizza (we couldn’t face too much food) in a very quirky restaurant called Big Hot Mamma. I loved it.

Today we drive back to the north after a lovely time (apart from the bad back which currently has a hot pad on it).

I’m sorry your activities are curtailed Ash but at least you are still part of the company, Hope you continue to
improve Mick, thoughts to RosiesMaw and all💕

Morning from South Lanarkshire, lovely display grandMattie

Glad you’re feeling a bit better Mick

DD2 and family coming for lunch today, I normally manage to ‘be the visitor’ so this has been a bit of an effort #lazygran as FGT2 says! However starter and pudding prepared only main course to cook today, I’m making Bobotie which I love, I hope they do too.

Mass last night so no rush. The chap who cuts my grass is also a bit of a handyman and has done a nice job of painting my garden fence and I hope he calls today to collect his payment. He tends to ‘appear’ and is hard to pin down and I do want to clear my conscience!

Best wishes to everyone for a good day, hope all feeling under par feel a bit better soon.
