Julie Andrews sang this at her 79th birthday party and received a standing ovation.

(Sing It!) - If you sing it, its especially hysterical!!!
Botox and nose drops and needles for knitting,
Walkers and handrails and new dental fittings,
Bundles of magazines tied up in string,
These are a few of my favorite things.
Cadillacs and cataracts, hearing aids and glasses,
Polident and Fixodent and false teeth in glasses,
Pacemakers, golf carts and porches with swings,
These are a few of my favorite things.
When the pipes leak, When the bones creak,
When the knees go bad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don't feel so bad.
Hot tea and crumpets and corn pads for bunions,
No spicy hot food or food cooked with onions,
Bathrobes and heating pads and hot meals they bring,
These are a few of my favorite things.
Back pain, confused brains and no need for sinnin',
Thin bones and fractures and hair that is thinnin',
And we won't mention our short shrunken frames,
When we remember our favorite things.
When the joints ache, When the hips break,
When the eyes grow dim,
Then I remember the great life I've had,
And then I don't feel so bad.

Julie Andrews turned 89 on 1st October this year.
A beautiful, talented performer.

How many more times are we going to exclaim over this?

To commemorate her birthday , actress/vocalist, Julie Andrews made a special appearance at Manhattan's Radio City Music Hall for the benefit of the AARP. One of the musical numbers she performed was 'My Favorite Things' from the legendary movie 'Sound Of Music'. Here are the lyrics she used

Botox and nose drops and needles for knitting,
Walkers and handrails and new dental fittings,
Bundles of magazines tied up in string,
These are a few of my favorite things.

Cadillacs and cataracts, hearing aids and glasses,
Polident and Fixodent and false teeth in glasses,
Pacemakers, golf carts and porches with swings,
These are a few of my favorite things.

When the pipes leak, When the bones creak,
When the knees go bad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don't feel so bad.

Hot tea and crumpets and corn pads for bunions,
No spicy hot food or food cooked with onions,
Bathrobes and heat pads and hot meals they bring,
These are a few of my favorite things.

Some of us didn’t see it posted first time around, so worth posting again. Very funny 😅.

I have heard that this song is a fake.

Spot on and brilliant !!!

Judy54 Tue 08-Oct-24 16:40:04

Whether it is fake or not does not matter. It is meant to be light hearted and a bit if fun. It brightened up my day!

I have heard that this song is a fake.

Yes, as Julie Andrew's hasn't been able to sing for a very long time since an operation on her vocal cords went wrong in the 1990s.

However, the song as a parody of Favourite Things is quite funny.

For cat lovers

RosiesMaw2 Love it!!!!

Hmn. I am 79 and don't have dentures or any or the things mentioned in the song. There's growing old gracefully and then there's embracing the stereotype of being old.

We’ll you’re very fortunate and I think the song is just a little piece of frivolity.

Absolutely love it! And never heard it before. Thank you for posting. Why are some so grumpy and nit picking about it? Embrace. Have a lough. At self mostly
