Are you local? Do you still live where you grew up?

I moved to where I live now with my family one month before my 14th birthday.

Then my family relocated to mainland Europe, so I commuted between there and here for over ten years (interesting with young children, partner and U.K. based business 🙀)

Two of our children attended my final senior school, as does one of our GC.

See friends from schooldays frequently (one of my good friends is married to a man I went to school with)

We did try living in Cambridgeshire, lasted six months, moved back down and tried living by the beach, lasted four months. We have been back here ever since (over forty years)

I would not move either justnoneedif I lived in Dorset. DH comes from there but would have loved to move back but all our children and grandchildren live in Berkshire so that settled it for us.

Not me, but my Mum and Dad lived on the same page of the London A-Z all their lives! It was page 61, as I recall... smile

I have boomeranged. Started off in Surrey, moved to Australia then back to Surrey and Wiltshire and have finally been in Berkshire since marriage 52 years ago although in four different houses.

I have lived in 5 different places, 4 in Somerset and 1 in Dorset.
My other half has lived here in same town in Dorset all his 77 years. In 4 different houses, the first being a 10 minute walk from here and the others just down the road.
I would move tomorrow but he is determined to stay here.

I have just counted up and I have lived in eight different areas since I was born. All, except one, in the south of England.

I recently chatted to a woman in her 70s who has always lived within a mile or so from where she was born and was very proud of the fact.

I know some of you may have grown up in a different country from where you are now.
