Marilla
I was raised Catholic and attended Catholic schools. I loved being part of the church with the passing seasons and rituals.
However, I married a non Catholic divorcee (registry office) am unable to take communion and no longer feel part of the church. The church do not recognise my marriage and consider me to be living with a married man.
Despite this, I miss it terribly.
So why do you not just go to church and communion and not tell your priest about your marital situation?
I was talking to a catholic priest recently and he said he knows, but not officially, that this is the situation with several families in his parish, but as long as no one tells him officially and he will never ask, he will continue to give them communion.
I have always had a very robust attitude to my catholicism. No one is perfect (see my post above) no one is a perfect christian (or jew, muslim etec etc), not even the ministers. So do the best you can and be relaxed about the things you cannot do.
