For fun! What sort of car would you be if you were a car?

I would have to be an old Jag like Morse drove - leather seats, walnut dash, in British racing green. A bit vintage but still good quality. Been around the block a few times but still going strong with a few tweeks here and there by the local mechanic.

A soft top Jeep.

Triumph Herald convertible. Black with white side flashes and red leather upholstery. Magic......

Kia Rio - not flashy, practical, rarely breaks down, low maintenance - that’s me!

merlotgran Mon 14-Oct-24 16:41:18

A pre war Lagonda being driven around the riviera by the son of a wealthy British aristo before world events curtailed my fun.

With my love of vintage ,and delusions of grandeur, a Bentley, with chauffer of course 😂.

a Noddy car

An old Landrover.

I had the pleasure of owning an etype Jag when only 22. Worked very hard for it. It was bright red. Never forgot the acceleration. Unfortunately first husband kept it. My solicitor forced him to sell. Happy to say that we eventually became friends and he made me furniture for my new home and I drove an Austin 1100 I think it was called.

A loveable Morris Minor.

I’d never be able to get in it now, but I could fancy being the British Racing Green E-Type in which the dad of the couple I once used to babysit for, often drove me home.

I’d most definitely be a Mercedes Benz convertible, I used to sing the Janice Joplin song oh lord wont you buy me a Mercedes Benz all the time until my husband bought me one it was a blue clk convertible, I now have a silver one which I love

Philippa111 Tue 15-Oct-24 11:53:48

I’d like to think I’m a Mercedes but in reality probably a dependable Ford.. lol!

missdeke Tue 15-Oct-24 13:20:59

An old banger held together with string and chewing gum grin.

VW BEETLE

MissAdventure Tue 15-Oct-24 14:03:29

A clown car, where you shut one door and the other falls off.

gulligranny Tue 15-Oct-24 14:08:29

The Rolls Royce as driven by Pop Larkin in The Darling Buds of May, complete with vases of flowers and a monogram on the side.

In reality, I've got a dear little Suzuki Ignis ...

Boolya Tue 15-Oct-24 14:48:35

Nissan Qashqai - mild hybrid with bells and whistles.

Summerfly Tue 15-Oct-24 16:07:11

Oh yes Tuaim, definitely the old jag. Aged, but still in good nick.

Greyduster Tue 15-Oct-24 19:08:46

Our first Mini - tiny, totally dependable, no frills whatsoever. It was rusting, one headlight only just clinging onto its housing where a seagull had collided with us, and a bullet hole just behind the petrol tank, but it just went on and on and on (also a bit like me😁)! I am now onto our third Mini, but I don’t identify with it nearly so well!

I like the idea of being a Taxi. The black square ones. A real Taxi.
Easy to access and still retaining a positive reputation.
Happy days xx

A beautiful old vintage car -maybe the one driven by Patrick McNee in The Avengers though apparently he didn't really drive it !

Esmay Tue 15-Oct-24 22:24:51

Not that I think I'm beautiful - just old !

EllieRose Wed 16-Oct-24 07:13:17

An aged Volkswagen Variant. My first car, which I called Marlene. Old, not at all glamorous, but totally reliable and well able to cope with all life's baggage - my own and other people's!

Ailidh Wed 16-Oct-24 07:24:22

My immediate first thought was a 1928 Porter (My Mother, the Car).
In reality my current car just IS me: a 2-seater Smart Car- little and cute on the outside but surprisingly luxurious on the inside 🙂

TwinLolly Wed 16-Oct-24 09:59:57

I'd be a Mini! I loved my old mini. I'm under 5'.
