Good morning from a very grey, blustery Suffolk coast. The sea is loud and wild. Lovely to watch!

Yesterday Liberty and I had lunch which turned into a 3 hour chat. It was so lovely to see her again but we’ll try to find a different venue for our next catch-up. Nice place , but only sandwiches to be had , which were below par. We didn’t really care.

I’m not sure what we’ll do today as the weather doesn’t look promising. Maybe have a fish and chip lunch in Aldeburgh. Second to none (apart from Dunwich, of course) 😉.

Good morning from the Essex coast where it is grey and chilly.
We had a lovely brunch with DH's girls yesterday morning to celebrate his birthday. They are lovely generous girls.
We also heard that two of his grandsons passed the 11+ and will be off to local grammar schools next September. We are both very proud of them.
Today I have admin, ironing and housework to get on with, not a very exciting day.
Thinking of those with worries or sadness in their lives.

I’m off for a blood test in a few minutes and this afternoon we have pour flu / covid jabs.
I may sort out a couple of drawers and then intend to spend the rest of the day doing art & crafts.

Testing negative yesterday coincided with our booking for flu jabs so that’s one done. Feeling much better and plan to blitz at least some of the bungalow once the groceries have been delivered. No more dust watching.

Very cheered yesterday to hear our friend moves to a nursing home today which has to be so much better for her than more weeks in hospital. While her overall condition is unlikely to dramatically improve with time there is hope she will be physically stronger.

My thoughts as ever are with those with worries of any kind. Hope Tuesday is kind to us all.

Good morning Mick and all from a brightening northwest coast. Recovery continues. V nice district nurse came yesterday and changed my dressings. Said all looked ok.

Window cleaner called and DS fiddled with my temperamental ch. Star of a DD left for the south with a list of instructions for my care with easygoing DS.😁
I’m rather tired of tiny portions of puréed food and have a while to go before I can move onto such thrills as cottage pie/fish pie etc. Had cream on a little stewed apple last night, v nice. Might apply for modelling after this, but unfortunately lack the height…

DS is going in my stead to the music club today with his guitar, which pleases me. He can tell me all about it when he comes back.
So pleased to now feel like watching tv in bed, although it’s still hard to get comfortable.

An earlier than usual for me good morning from South Lanarkshire. I’ve been awake for ages but have youngest DGD in bed beside me and DD’s dog in his bed downstairs and I don’t want to disturb either of them and start the day!
I’m gasping for a cup of tea but will try to hang off till 8 o’clock.

Scone making this morning evidently (oh such faith dear granddaughter but I am not grandMattie😂).
Afterwards she wants to go to a lovely cafe just outside of town for lunch so that can take care of granddog’s constutional too.

Just a note from the south of Glasgow in the dark as yet. Cold I think but we had wonderful sunshine yesterday, so fingers crossed.

I can't help thinking Karmalady that you are one very talented, knowledgeable lady. I wonder if you have written a book on all your wonderful skills together with the history and practicalities of your talent. I would love to think that this amount of wisdom could be carried on into the future and wonder if the younger generations are aware of real skills like yours. Perhaps. it can't be learnt without an overriding interest and love for the subject.

This from someone with no such skills but dear lady, I take my hat off to you or I would if I was wearing one.

Good morning from Oxfordshire, our trip to Hampshire has been postponed until tomorrow, we will drop in to see BIL on our way to the airport, I packed for the holiday yesterday so I can have a quick sprint around the house with a duster today.
Mizuna love the mobile garden, might not do the car much good, but very cheery.

Good morning everyone from a very grey, damp and mild Essex. Yesterday I drove to Hyde Hall RHS gardens to meet a friend for coffee. It took longer than usual due to torrential rain and driving through huge puddles. We didn’t bother to have a walk, just coffee, chat and a browse in the shop!
llfl your cruise sounds lovely, my DH always refused to go on any type of cruise, but we drove most of the way down the Rhone valley.
I’m going over to DD1’s this afternoon to do the after school club pick up, then look after the granddaughters until their parents are home. They’re going to the theatre this evening, so will be late, I’ll stay the night there.

Good morning from a dark, dry Durham. Got lots done yesterday, including buying new curtains for the family room, which I’ll hang later.
I’ve nothing on today, so I’ll get bird seed and peanuts from a local warehouse and ring a friend to ask if his wife is up to a visit - she’s had cancer for years, but her time is limited now.
My tenant has reported a problem overnight, so I’ll have to give that some attention and contact a local handyman.
So much for having a ‘nothing on’ day!

Good morning from s somerset, relatively warmer for the whole week and perhaps a couple of hours of sun today

My hibernation has come on earlier than usual, luckily I have been prepping for weeks and major areas, like the garden, are done. I sit more at this stage so I do quiet things like my knitting, spinning yarn and hand sewing. Sometimes I dive into a cupboard for a big tidy or sort. For example I have finished sorting my knitting accessories. Much went to the cs, a fair amount to beginner-knitter dd and I have kept the best and loveliest for myself

I unearthed my old Scottish jumper board, it unfolds to make a standing wooden form for jumper-blocking. It will be ideal if, or when, I go back to fair isle knitting. I am so glad to have kept that

I am stash- busting today, yesterday I started on my remaining balls of hand-spun, a mixed bag of wools, all local sheep. I am making an open-front vest-top called the brown stitch, I have made it several times in the past and it makes a really handy warm throw-over that keeps my back warm. This time I made worsted 3 ply and it is not an airy yarn. I won`t spin this type of yarn again, 2 ply woollen spin is nicer. 3 ply makes a more dense round strand

I see another cosy day today but, like yesterday, will need to get some exercise and morning is best for that. I am fortunate to see old cottages, to hear a mill stream and to see so much varied greenery, all in half an hour fast-paced walk a few minutes from town centre.

I shall steam the Christmas puddings today. Pick up and straight to swimming lessons with The Imp and 9yr old.

I wish I could sleep past 4.30am, how lovely it would be to open my eyes and see 7.30am instead 💤💤

Good morning from a dark South Downs.

Well, since my last post, it has gone from late summer to mid autumn, and I am in my usual rush to try to get all the bulbs in before the Christmas demands become too loud. I still have hyacinths to plant in a big pot, honey garlic and daffs in the bees bed which is still full of flower and bees so I might try to get in amongst the plants.

The bees never stop, - at barely day break, there will be one or two having got up early. Apparently they work until they drop.

I have eventually to decide what to do in the bees bed, as some plants have taken more than their fair share of space. Salvia Amstrad being one. It is huge - about 7-8 ft tall and spread. I hadn’t planned for that! But, it is always heaving with pollinators. I have a Joe pie weed to plant near it, which is always a good plant for pollinators, but that also is a big plant, decisions, decisions!!

Covid jab due this morning, then lunch with ex-work collegues in Ditchling.

My eldest grandson was awarded employee of the year, by his company, which whilst welcome is a bit odd seeing as he has only been there since his graduation 6 months ago. He must have made an impression or it just seems like he’s been around for ever😊😊. The youngest grandson has just started with the same company - they employed him on a zero contract but have awarded him a full contract after he was only there for a couple of weeks.
The company provide computers for planes boats snd trains. Government contracts from MOD snd commercial contracts from large airlines etc.

Pleased to see everyone is still doodling along in life.

There is a glimmer of light out there - start the day with feeding the birds who will be all lined up on the roof waiting. I end the day with feeding the foxes who have learned to peep around the wall when I call to let them know their food is waiting. They have to run the gamut of the cats who lie in wait and try to chase them away.

Peace and harmony - that has got worse since I last posted!!

Good morning from a damp, dark, dank and foggy hillside in south Glos, it’s definitely more like late November here than autumn at the moment. Yesterday it barely brightened up all day.
I spent an hour sorting out a corner kitchen cupboard that now has my mixer, soup maker etc in in. It’s an awkward one for cans etc because of the shape. I also put little used dishes, bowls and pans in in, freeing up the deep drawers for the regularly used ones. I don’t know why I haven’t done this sooner!
I will do more embroidery today but I want to make an apple and blackberry crumble and a boiled fruit loaf first.
Little else planned.
I hope today goes well for you all 🌹

Church group this morning then in the afternoon we have to go and get our flu and covid vaccination.
To night is PW didn't go last month so will have to make an effort.

Good morning from a drizzly Cornwall, warm enough to end up with my hoodie in my backpack yesterday. Breakfast at the Uni was followed by a very productive rummage through the 50p rail in my favourite charity shop. I want to make a rag rug or waistcoat. Today, coffee in Wetherspoons' roof garden with a friend. This car near me has a little garden attached and blooming, all year round. 😁

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 2° and dry. Susan it's difficult I know. 💐
Yesterday I had to scrape the car before my very early childcare. That was a shock to my system. The boys behaved really well all day. Dgs2 has an awful cough and a cold and wasn't as bright as he normally is. Dgs1 was a good wee soul. I was in bed very early and slept well, allowing for my usual three times up to the loo.
Today will be similar without soft play. I'm hoping to get them to a wood just down from my house but it'll depend on how dgs2 is feeling. Have a good day all.

Yesterday was a difficult day at the hospital which left me feeling emotionally battered.DH was a great support as were my brothers and two of my cousins.

Today is a day at home.I have a few phone calls to make then relaxing with a new book before my friend comes round later when we shall put the world to rights!I am so looking forward to seeing her.
