Good Morning Everyone,
A dark but dry start here in brackley this morning.
Yesterday, I stayed in with the exception of getting a Chinese Take Away .
Today maybe do some laundry ,and general housework but relax health wise OK.
Take Care,
Mick

Morning all, it’s grey and my trees are swaying in the wind, no doubt they will loose lots of leaves, more work for DH 🤣

I feel better today, the Covid booster really floored me for 24 hours!

We are going to a lovely country pub by a few antique shops for a late lunch with friends, so looking forward to catching up with them.

DS3 has booked for them, DS4, DD and us all to go to Centre Parcs next Easter, something to look forward to, we really enjoy it this year.

Wishing all good morningers in sick bay a speedy recovery.

Have a peaceful Sunday 🙋‍♀️

The threatened heavy rain has yet to arrive but the wind is here so it won’t be long, I think, so shan’t be going anywhere and therefore don’t need to get up yet. More clothes sorting feels like a useful activity but will see how I feel. Hope the holiday makers and travellers have a good day and that the weather doesn’t upset plans here or further afield.

Good morning from a still and dry Suffolk although wind and rain expected soon.

I think we shall hunker down today after the dog walk and enjoy a peaceful day at home.

I am on the church cleaning rota for the local church annd October is one of my two months. I did a stint yesterday and admired the beautifully restored rood screen. It is early 16th century and has been deemed to be a ,National treasure’ as three of the painted figures on one side,Moses,Jesus and Elijah, form a depiction of the Transfiguration of Christ. This is possibly the only one surviving in England.

Hope those in the worst of the storm suffer no damage.

Good morning from a very wet and windy Black Country.

Luckily we took down the Gazebo yesterday, whist it was bright and sunny. So that is it until next Spring.

No real plans today. If the weather brightens up may go down to the canal as there is a boat festival there.

Thinking of you all who are facing health challenges.

Morning Mick. Morning All from a wild and wet corner of Somerset.

Such a change from yesterday’s warm sunshine. Mr C decided a trip to Cheddar would do us good, surprisingly quiet when we arrived, perhaps because many lanes around had more than their share of water lying. The usually gentle Cheddar Yeo was an angry torrent and looked very close to overtopping. Not venturing out today, far too wild to be fun.

Get well wishes to all poorly folk. Hope it helps to have those stitches out holly and Sunday is kind to us all.

Good morning all and it’s grey but not windy yet, here in Essex.

I’m defrosting my small drawer type freezer. A huge chunk of ice e has formed on the bottom ‘floor’. Probably while we were away.

Dd and little gd might come for lunch. Dd has been very quiet of late . A good/bad sign ? 🤷🏻‍♀️.

I hope the Storm doesn’t do any damage for you in the NW.
Keep safe.

Thoughts to Holly , Mizuna, Ash, Marydoll and others who I might has missed. 💐.

Happy holidays to Oops GM, RosiesMaw Sagoand safe journey home tomorrow Brooke.

Sar take it easy today. The trip has probably shaken you up.
Hope the bruises fade quickly.💐

Take care all 🌻🍁

Good morning everyone from a wet and windy south Manchester. It looks pretty miserable out there. No ⚽️ match for the Boy Wonder thank goodness! It’s half term for him next week - two weeks off school. L’il Miss and their mum just have one week off on his second. I shall be across every day to spend some time with him and make his lunch. 💙

We’re picking my stepfather up for lunch this afternoon, a table booked in his favourite Italian restaurant. We took him shopping yesterday for a huge top up shop. He spent £160! Food only, no household goods. He said perhaps he ought to stay home today and eat some of it. 🤣

Good(?) morning from dark, wet Carlisle where the wind is slowly picking up. I won't be enjoying the day as I find these gales worrying, I don't think I've got over living in my former very exposed residence!
I've just come back from a very enjoyable week in Menorca where I gave the island a good looking over, especially appreciating the former capital, Ciutadella. Should have stayed another week, there was more of interest than I thought there would be.
I came home by train on Friday to get the same experience as a few weeks ago...we were dumped out at Preston again! Again, the usual problem, faults on the line between Carlisle and Glasgow, this time the signals. This has been going on for years, why can't they sort it?! I'm getting experienced in these manoeuvres and managed to get a seat on the next train through to Edinburgh from amongst the hundreds waiting on the platform.
On my last holiday, flying from Glasgow, I actually took a taxi from here rather than risk losing my holiday due to train shenanigans.
Today, I'm going to hunker down with books and newspapers plus claiming a complete refund of my first class fare from the train company...whose fault it wasn't.
Wishing you all a good day and no gale problems.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and wet. No wind yet though. Ash I hope you feel better soon. RosiesMaw your Paris trip sounds wonderful.
Yesterday I stirred myself and went to Aldi then the retail park. I'm now fully equipped with food and new toys for the boys. All washings and housework were done too.
Last night, despite a few toilet trips, I had a good sleep. Today I'm meeting a friend for coffee and cake then I'll visit mum in the afternoon. Pork chop with mash and creamed leek for dinner.
I think I might stop posting every day and just visit occasionally. My best to you all

Taichinan Sun 20-Oct-24 08:57:32

Good morning all. The photo was taken at tai chi on the beach yesterday. The photo is taken into the sun so the sky looks grey, but actually it was blue and the day was sunny. We were so lucky with the weather again - today we'd be blown off the beach!
For some reason I slept for only 90 minutes on Friday night so my planned foray down to Perth after tai chi had to be called off - I wouldn't have been safe to drive. I did drop off (💤) for about an hour, so just as well.
Lovely photo from Rhodes sago, and glad you too are having an interesting break grandmattie.
I hope your skin reaction dies down quickly Mizuna and that having your stitches out speeds up your recovery now hollysteers.
That sounds an eminently decision brook, from the sound of the weather forecast for the northwest of Scotland. DD is driving down to Notts this afternoon and has no intention of putting that off, but at least she's going in the right direction.
Not a day for doing anything here, except for catching up with admin tasks. Have a good Sunday everyone x

Brilliant picture Taichinan
Welcome back Ekwa sounds like a great week, shame about the trains.
Missing Blossoming and her trips to watch the boats and water.

Good morning from a grey NE, rain is forecast but not here yet.
Yesterday's appointment was not pleasant, I was given large doses of beta blockers to lower my heart rate and GTN. Sent me back to the waiting room while the drugs worked. Lying on the scanner bed was so uncomfortable with my bad back and having to have my arms over my head for quite a while.
When the procedure was finished the Radiologist berated me for being 2 hours late for my appointment. I was furious and told her I had a letter with time clearly printed on it, she made me get the letter and she took it off to copy it. I asked another nurse when I was ready to be discharged and she said I was correct in my timing. I quite often get requests for feedback after appointments, will make my feelings known about this one.
DD and SIL are coming this afternoon to take me for my covid and flu vaccinations.

It is three years today since DH died, I feel quite emotional, just glad I will have some company.

Have a good day.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sun 20-Oct-24 09:21:10

We shall all miss you posting daily GrandmaBatty 👋 as one of our ‘regulars’ we’ve gotten to know and love your daily routines with your much loved boys and hearing about what’s on the hob in your kitchen! Look after yourself and pop back frequently please. 🥰

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sun 20-Oct-24 09:23:38

X posts with you harrigran these are for you 💐

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I've come back to bed with a cuppa tea affer what seemed an entirely sleepless night 😟

A nice day yesterday . I caught a bus to Roslin and walked in the Glen, avoiding all the tourists.

My Helper and his girlfriend made supper and we chatted until late. I have persuaded them to persue their family trees of all things.

Today will be apple pressing for juice.

Holly I hope you feel better soon and also Mizuna, Ash and Marydoll take care everyone.
Great photo Taichinan!
Here is an autumn glimpse of Rosslyn Chapel.

Good morning everyone from a very wet Northampton, rain all day forecast, but the next three days look fine and sunny, so hope to catch up with some washing then.
No plans for today, apart from read the papers and catch up with some tv.

Had a good little shopping trip yesterday. Got everything I needed in M&S Food, where I met an ex-neighbour from our previous house, who I hadn't seen for a few years. We were young marrieds in our 20s when we moved into adjoining houses in 1974!

Spent the rest of the afternoon at home watching the rugby match I had been at on Friday night; love seeing it again if we have won!

Take care everyone, looking forward to more news from foreign shores from those on their travels.

Good morning from a very rainy Shropshire.

Yesterday was a lovely day spent with the grandchildren and then a lovely roast dinner at DD’s.

Today we are out for Sunday lunch then will visit mum.

Grandmabatty I will miss your daily posts.Take care of yourself 💐

Thoughts with all unwell and safe travels to all on the move.

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

Will miss you. X

My message was of course for Grandmabatty.

EkwaNimitee Sun 20-Oct-24 12:17:36

Another who appreciated and will miss your daily posts, Grandmabatty

whywhywhy Sun 20-Oct-24 13:44:12

GrandmaBatty - no one will miss you. I’ve been away ages and nobody noticed!!!

Grandmabatty Sun 20-Oct-24 14:10:08

whywhywhy hmm, that's rather unkind. I don't expect to be missed on a social media site, although I'm heartened by those lovely people who have acknowledged me. I'm letting the usual people know because often posters will query absentees. Mizuna let folk know she was going to dip out for a while and I don't recall you speaking so unpleasantly to her at the time. Anyway, tara chums. I'll be in touch

TopsyIrene06 Sun 20-Oct-24 14:20:00

Whywhywhy - unnecessary and rude.

Repeat, I will miss you GB.

GrandmaC47 Sun 20-Oct-24 14:31:40

Come back soon Grandmabatty. 💐
