Morning all from a damp looking West Oxfordshire.

I will be listening to two more lectures this morning from my V&A Art History course. Then after lunch I’ll pop round to a friend’s for an hour or two. She and her family lived in my house many years ago - they sold it to the people we bought it from.

OH will be visiting his bees and installing the woodpecker guards he made yesterday.

Have a good day especially those of you who are unwell - Mick, you really should see a doctor.

Sorry maw, forgot you were away, your photos have triggered good memories.

cornergran Tue 22-Oct-24 07:42:15

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset is fine, should be a reasonable day.

Enjoyed our retail trip out yesterday, the afternoon tea was both yummie and huge, two boxes of goodies came home with us.

Grocery delivery and dust removal this morning. Mr C has an appointment in town later, hoping to combine with a short sea front walk.

Safe trip home sago and grandmattie. I’ve really enjoyed your holiday photos, thank you.

That sounds tough holly, can only hope things improve. What a night mick, a day resting and recovering would be sensible as would a chat with your medical team. You must be exhausted. Thinking of marydoll, a hug heading your way.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning from Cambridgeshire where is looks a dry day. I had one of those nights where I slept for 3 hours and then restless mostly thinking about how to decorate dgd2’s tutu ready for her ballet medal in a few weeks time. DD is stressing on this and asking for help. It seems like all sequins and motifs etc now need to be bought on line as our little haberdashery shops have disappeared from the high street!

What lovely pics being posted above from those travelling. Also sorry to hear about those struggling with health issues. As we get older we are like old houses lots of maintenance and repair required 😂
I’m still in the sick bay after my recent eye op but getting there now although I could have done without DH passing on his cold to me!
Another day of resting up and watching Midsummer Murders for me I think.
Hope everyone has a good day 💐

brook2704 Tue 22-Oct-24 07:38:57

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s still dark but the weather forecast is dry for today. We arrived home yesterday afternoon after an easy enough journey up from Northumberland, there was steady traffic but no delays.
Gorgeous photos gMattie and Sago thanks you both and safe travels home
Hopefully doing a bit of gardening today, it’ll mainly be picking up leaves and twigs, there’s always lots outside to keep me busy. This evening I’m looking forward to going out for a meal with a group of ladies I’ve known for a while and having a really good catch-up
Hoping you’re much better soon holly and you can eat a bit more
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Completely lost my long post, so here goes again!
Bonjour!
A lovely sunny day yesterday so we wandered up to Montmartre, taking the funicular up to the Sacre Coeur - whence wonderful views!
Then a potter round the quieter tourist-free back streets to see Suzanne Valadons studio and lovely peaceful gardens.
Home via a patisserie for chocolat chaud and supper at the little restaurant opposite the flat. A really nice day!
So sorry to hear of your bad night Mick - do think of consulting someone.
Wishing everybody, home or away une bonne journée and that those who are poorly feel better soon

Good morning all and it’s set to be fine today, here in Essex.

Yesterday Dh went fishing and Dd and I went shopping. She is fairly well at the moment and the latest consultant she saw told her all these different symptoms are the result of the Immunotherapy she had nearly two years ago. Apparently side effects can stay in the body for a long time. Reassuring somehow to know !

Today I’m having coffee with an old pal whose Dh has advanced Parkinsons. She is disabled herself and I really don’t know how they manage . They have no outside help . I’ll take in some pastries and see if there’s anything I can do or just chat and hopefully bring some light relief. I feel a bit helpless really.

This afternoon is Bridge Club

Stay at home and recover today Mick.

Take care all 🌻🍁

Good morning Mick and all from a dark northwest coast.
Woken up twice in the night by the cat, whose requirements I have to guess…

DD left for the south yesterday and DS here now. My eating hardly improving after op, now lost a stone in 12 days. Had a chat with GP who suggested smoothies with bananas etc. Even swallowing is no fun. I hope it improves for my X* dinner!
DS going again to the music club in my stead and it was nice to sit and listen to him singing and playing his guitar last night. A night change from all the telly watching recently.

Mick, I think you need further medical advice, it’s not a nice state of affairs at the moment.
Thoughts to all🌺

Good morning from s somerset, mostly dry today and maybe some sun

Yesterday turned into a busy day, bed changed, room bottomed, washing out and so on. Craft group later, it was so cheery, so much laughing and chat and not much crafting.

I will just take today as it comes, I do a little extra housework most days and old roomba will work for me in a couple of rooms too. Doing a bit at a time keeps me on top of cleaning and maintenance. I need to poke my head into the loft, just a check to see that all is well

More knitting today and perhaps an hour of getting prepped for sewing a winter layering garment that I cut out a month ago. Once the prep is done then it is easier to get myself into making mode. I really do want that garment for this winter

A full day ahead for me, maybe a delivery or two

Have a good day

Good morning everyone from Essex, where we have clear skies, unlike yesterday when it was grey and gloomy all day. I had my pre op assessment yesterday, all ok. Did some ironing and repotted a houseplant.
Hygienist this morning, then some housework before seeing my friend with dementia.
Lovely photos from gm and sago. Safe journeys home to you both.
susan that sounds like a lot of driving today!
I hope all those who are feeling poorly have some relief today.
Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning, Michael, and all GNs. A very moody sunrise in South Yorkshire this morning. Mick I’m so sorry you had such a bad night. Please speak to your doctor.
I didn’t go outside yesterday apart from putting some laundry out, mostly because I couldn’t stop sneezing again and ended up with a headache. I cleaned my bedroom and made a curry in the afternoon and then settled down with a book. Volunteering at school this afternoon.
Have the best day you can folks.

Bonnybanko Tue 22-Oct-24 07:13:11

Good morning from a very dark but dry day here on the east coast of Fife I didn’t sleep very well yesterday due to the wind howling a hoollie. It was so strong it overturned my large heavy ratten garden furniture. Todays a rest day I guess it’ll either be a film day or a nap day

I made a delicious macaroni cheese dish yesterday I’ll be eating it for days to come I made far too much (as usual)

Have a good day my friends keep safe

Susan56 Tue 22-Oct-24 07:04:31

Good morning from North Wales where another dry day is forecast.

We will take the children to school then go home as we have someone coming to clean the gutters.Back at 3pm to collect the children then hopefully home by 7pm.

I’m sorry you have had a bad night.I think you should contact your medical team for advice re medication.

Thoughts with Marydoll 💐

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

GrannyGravy13 Tue 22-Oct-24 07:03:03

Morning all

Mick please speak to your medical team, hope you have a better day.

Lovelies photos from our travellers 👍🏻

I need to catch up on household stuff today. Bed change first then I think I will
be feeding the washing machine all day. Pick up The Imp and 9yr old from schools and take them to their swimming lessons.

Thinking of our poorly morning friends (((hugs))) 🌸🌸🌸

mum2three Tue 22-Oct-24 07:01:45

Pouring with rain here in Lancashire, but it should clear up later. Debating whether or not to go shopping. I fancy a wander round the garden centre but it's half-term and there are too many badly behaved children around.

Grammaretto Tue 22-Oct-24 06:43:52

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
Yesterday's walk was just right, about 4½ miles through a country park along the river Almond.
Thanks for posting your holiday pics gMattie and sago - fabulous.
Sorry your insides are so unsettled Mick. Your doctor should be told and can adjust your medication.

Not much planned today but prep for my Gaelic class this evening.

Have a lovely day everyone.

Ashcombe Tue 22-Oct-24 06:39:56

Good morning from a dry and calm Torbay.

I hope you are able to get some advice, Mick, about your health concerns.

A good night’s sleep has helped me feel much better at last. However, I shall gradually ease back into my normal activities because I need to recover fully for a busy weekend.

Thank you for the beautiful photos, holidaymakers!

Hope today is kind to everyone. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good morning from Malta where we expect a cloudy day with some rain showers and a high of 25°C.

It rained in the night which I would not have been aware of had the dog not crept round to be closer to my bed. He’s afraid of the thunder, lightning and noise of the rain, bless him.

Sorry to hear you had such a bad night Mick.😞

Safe travels gMattie and Sago. It’s always good to get home after being away.

No plans to go out today, plenty of jobs to do around the house .
Have a good day all.☀️

Puss Tue 22-Oct-24 06:28:48

Good morning from Belfast it's dark and I haven't peeked out. A lovely day yesterday washing out and practically dried.
Leaves brushed after the weekend storm.
Today DH has a funeral to go to it's miles away so don't expect him home until the evening.
I'm sure I will find something to do. Where does the dust come from.
Take it easy Mick and all on holiday have a lovely day.
Take care everyone.

Sago Tue 22-Oct-24 06:13:05

Good morning,

Today we leave sunny Rhodes, we have walked many miles and consumed many Mythos!
The Old Town was a constant source of wonder, the history is quite phenomenal.
There was only one small cruise ship in yesterday so it was much quieter.
Very sad to learn about the many Jews who were rounded up here and transported to prison camps.
We missed a tour of the synagogue sadly but there will hopefully be another year.

So back to Blighty where apparently the weather is unseasonably good!

grandMattie Tue 22-Oct-24 05:51:47

Good morning from Isla, northern Spain.
I’m sorry you’ve had such a bad night Mick, I hope you improve soon.
Yesterday, we had a three hour journey west to the Picos de Europa. We were blessed with wonderful weather, we could see the snow capped mountains, etc.
We were given nearly three hours to potter round Potes, a charming golden sandstone little town. Due to its isolation and altitudes, life must have been very hard indeed in the “olden days” especially in the winter, when they would have been cut off for weeks.
The hotel not only gave us free wine all week but gave us a liqueur last night and a display of Spanish dancing. This started at 2230. I stayed for a short time but exhaustion got the better of me and I retired early.
Home today.

Good morning Mick and all from another dry north 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 coast - I do hope your health problems get sorted soon Mick, sounds very debilitating.

I’ve been catching up with all your doings yesterday, the comings and goings and stunning scenery are a delight aren’t they!

Sad to see Grandmabatty won’t be with us but maybe a sabbatical is just the ticket and she’ll sneak back when we least expect ! Miss Marydoll battling away, I so admire sheer cussedness!👏

Lins, my username comes from my grandparents farm in north Wales where I spent many blissful school holidays and indeed was there just after the Aberfan tragedy. I recall hushed conversations, the hiding of newspapers and wireless being turned off…a sad time indeed.

Not a lot happening here at PGTowers at the moment but that’s fine as I’m half way through a good 📖 and a busy few days coming up - I shall live vicariously through you bizzy 🐝🐝 until then!

RosesandLilac Tue 22-Oct-24 05:47:09

Good morning Mick, I’m sorry you’ve had such a bad night. Do you think you should be speaking to your GP?
I don’t know what it’s like outside, I haven’t looked yet, here in south Glos.
Yesterday the dog and I enjoyed our walks, it was very peaceful.
Let’s see what today brings 🌹
