Very late posting today as we had an attempted break in our house in Oxfordshire, 3 doors and a window damaged but they were unable to get in, Insurers contacted to try to get it sorted.
Until then Nephew will stay there until we get home. MissOops discovered it when she went to water my plants this morning.

As they didn’t get in the Burglar alarm didn’t go off, they probably came over the back field as the front is all locked up. Who knows?

The police will be there later today. maybe…..

MzOops is packing to continue on her journey early tomorrow morning we will take her down to Alicante to connect with the train to Provence at the crack of dawn, well, 7am!

Meanwhile my stomach is turning somersaults!!

GrannySomerset who is responsible for that back fence? Our cottage by farmland, we were responsible. Sometimes farmer is responsible. I would put out a call for help on facebook either way

Opened the bedroom curtains to find a cow in the back garden - the stockproof rear fence plainly isn’t any more! Very helpful neighbours have effected a temporary repair and I am struggling to find someone to come urgently to advise. The field behind the house is full of cattle, the nosiest of beasts, and where one goes the others will surely follow, so the need for a solution is urgent. Looks as though today is spoken for!

My hands are telling me I’ve been crocheting too much !
It’s not using the hands , it’s my bad posture and the pains are from my neck , I’m a slow learner, I need to up my positioning of back support etc
I am so concerned that I started the blanket project , but it looks like my contributions will be limited
It’s very concerning to read of your health problems Mick, please get to see someone face to face to discuss your symptoms

A late good morning from a bright, sunny Durham.
I slept better last night, but still coughing and sneezing, so I’ve postponed meeting a friend today - she had a compromised immune system.
There’s sickness and diarrhea in DD2’s household, so I’ve plenty of their laundry to deal with and I’m ankle deep in fallen leaves from a neighbour’s sycamore.

I think you should phone your surgery Mick for some advice. Do you have a strict diet to follow?

Good morning from South Lanarkshire, not quite sure how the time has passed since I got up two hours ago but suddenly I’m in a rush! Post school childminding today but I go early to help out a bit with ironing etc and not having a car does add greatly to journey times, although I am getting lots of reading done.

Just want to say I’ve also really enjoyed the holiday snaps, especially the Chinese style vestments Mattie, they were totally new to me.

Thinking about all struggling, that’s a big weight loss Holly, what a time you’re having, good family care must be such a help.
I hope you can get some help too Mick, you must be exhausted.

Good morning everyone from a sunny Northampton; but it felt chilly when I got up.

A mostly quiet day yesterday once I got back from yoga and coffee. Hung the washing out, then after lunch read the paper, did the puzzle page,.and then settled down with my new book. Got absolutely lost in it and am now half way through!

Got up later this morning, so a rushed morning to make sure I am ready for our health walk early afternoon. Bit of kitchen tidying to do, chicken to thaw out for dinner tonight, and yesterday's washing to put away.

Poor you holly eating seems such a trial at present I bet you dread it. Maybe think about calorie drinks? FortiJuice is watery and each little bottle contains 200 calories. Easy to sip. Himself had them on prescription last summer, much needed when he lost 4st. Maybe your doctor would prescribe if you ask? Worth a try?

Voluntary phone was full of odd calls yesterday, confused people, all sorted out.
It was a joy to return for quiz night, all the usual people, and evening of banter and catch ups - we were rubbish at the quiz 🙂. I had my flu jab in the afternoon, not even a sore arm thus far.
ENT check on my nose this morning, library this afternoon.

Good morning Mick and everybody from bright Carlisle where it's also quite mild. Long may it continue!
Yesterday afternoon I got out in the garden again and mowed the front lawn, hopefully for the last time this season. I also swept up a mass of oak leaves. There is a large oak tree nearby and a strong wind piles loads of the leaves up in my doorway at this time of year. It will be an ongoing job for weeks.

Today I'm off into town shortly on various errands including a visit to a charity shop. I had a sweep through a wardrobe yesterday and cleared out a number of perfectly good blouses. I've finally decided that, having not worn them for at least 8 years, this time they really must go. They're rather fancy 'evening out' blouses and I don't have that lifestyle any more.

Mick your bowel problem seems to be dragging on a long time after your op, time for a review of drugs and diet with your GP/medical team? As others above have suggested...but we all care about you!

Good morning everyone from a dry south Manchester. The sun is trying to shine. I’m off over to be with the Boy Wonder later, do his lunch then meeting his mum at 2pm for the Harvest Festival at L’il Miss’ school. Mum has to scoot back to work for a senior lead meeting so I will wait for L’il Miss coming out and take her home and stay till dad gets in at 5pm. A nice change for her rather than being collected by the childminder.

Good morning from a dry NE where the sun is now shining.
Yesterday was a day of reading and listening to music, I also had a little sleep on the sofa.
I did make an effort and cooked dinner, pork steak dipped in egg and sprinkled with panko crumb.
My vaccination arm is still sore but no other effects.
Nothing on the calendar today so will just tidy round and write my shopping list for tomorrow.

Good morning from a bright sunny Suffolk where the changing leaves on the trees are a glorious range of colours.

I’m meeting 3 friends for lunch today who all worked in different companies in the business centre where I was based for the last years of my working life. We all have led such different lives but get on so well and have interesting and entertaining lunches together every 5 or so weeks.

We are meeting in a hotel in Lowestoft which has “Special pensioners’ lunches on Tuesdays. As a group,we haven’t been but I went earlier in the year to one with another friend. We laughed and chatted as usual amidst more serious looking couples!

Hope those feeling unwell or caring for others find some comfort today.

Good morning all. Morning has broken in a beautiful rosy glow here on the Angus coast and skein after skein of geese are rising and flying off in search of breakfast - always a beautiful sight and sound.
Today is a busy day - tai chi followed by a 'big' shop and visits to the butcher and greengrocer. I hope my stamina can sustain it!

Good morning from wet South Lanarkshire.

I eventually slept fairly well after tossing and turning for a couple of hours.

We had three energetic children here all weekend, there was lots of drawing, crafting and muddy puddle splashing along with trips to the play park. We also visited a little mini zoo not too far from us where I was astonished by the seven year old calling to me that she’d spotted an axolotl. How do children pick up these facts.

Now that they’ve gone home and order has been restored I’m enjoying the quiet I have to admit.

Daft dug has an appointment with the groomer this afternoon during which time I’ll walk our friends’ dog. They are in Europe waiting to be repatriated accompanied by a UK doctor after the husband suffered a heart attack on the third day of their holiday. Thankfully he is recovering well from surgery and is resting in a hotel now having been discharged a couple of days ago.

I’ll go back and read all your news now but Mick, perhaps it’s time to see your GP again.

A little housework this morning then lunch with DD3. All the family will be spending Christmas at hers so we are going to be making lists in preparation.

Hopefully I’ll get. a couple of plants in the garden and some art done later.
