Unlike polomint I think smart or edgy trainers are infinitely smarter than old lady flat shoes!
Look at Solebliss, Gabor, Moda in Pelle etc for inspiration. (Then check out more budget-friendly brands.)
As for making your feet sweaty, that is down to the material of the uppers- leather and fabric are just as available as man made uppers.
Your feet will thank you for them. And podiatrists admire your common sense as well as your style.

I also have trainers for walking, but find lace-ups better than Skechers which I don't find supportive at all.

I also wear heels when I can as I think they are better for your feet than flats (trainers are flat) and I am reaping the rewards of wearing flat shoes for years I don't think they are good for the ankles at all, but fear it's too late for me.

I would love to get some kitten heel slippers but they don't sell them anymore either. I hate flat slippers but don't seem to hve a choice...if anyone knows anywhere?

tanith Smart, leather flat shoes are available in loads of different styles and colours. I have attended two weddings wearing flat shoes that matched my outfit and found that I was by no means alone.

To be honest tanith I think I'm a bit vain. I don't think trainers are as stylish as shoes

I have the Sketchers slip on ones. They are very comfortable but I do find they make my feet rather hot and I haven’t tried driving in them yet.

I now only wear trainers most of the time they are so comfy and feel safe to walk in which I do daily. I have 4/5 pairs and a couple of pairs of boots. All my heeled shoes are gone I just can’t wear them anymore but I have a family wedding next year not sure what I’ll be wearing on my feet yet.
What’s your objection to trainers?

I used to wear stiletto shoes ,sling back shoes and sandals in my younger years but since retiring I have worn flat shoes. I now feel I need a little more support but I really don't relish the thought of wearing trainers. I know they are very popular, in fact out shopping it looks like everyone is wearing them but me. How comfortable are they?
