Good Morning Sunday 27th October 2024

Good morning everyone, it’s dry, chilly and there’s pink fluffy clouds in a blue sky here in south Glos.
I slept very badly, I have started getting very painful shins that wake me up, I have no idea what causes it.
DS and family arrived yesterday evening, so lovely to see them all. Lots of catching up with their news over a nice supper was really enjoyable.
DH hates the clock change, he’ll be like a bear with a sore head for the next few months until they change back, grumpy old man! It doesn’t bother me but it was irksome when I did night duty as it was paid for because the powers that be assumed you were also working when the clocks went forward 🙄
I happily go with the flow of the seasons nowadays; they’re not something I can have any influence over!

Good morning everyone from Essex. It’s sunny and dry but chilly at 6 degrees. I have been awake since 4, but didn’t go to sleep until midnight, so no extra hour for me.
Yesterday was mostly grey and drizzly, I wasn’t expecting to see either of my DDs, usually they’re too busy with grandchildren’s activities. But DD2 and family arrived in the morning, then DD1 and her family plus dog arrived after lunch! They’re all going to various events in town/local university today. It was good to see them all. Half term this coming week so they’ll all be busy.
I’m planning my usual walk this morning, then a quiet day. I think some dusting is called for. I’ll have my usual phone call to my friend in Kent later this afternoon. I also have to pack up a parcel to return to John Lewis - a birthday present for the littlest granddaughter arrived damaged, and has to be returned.

Woke early due to sciatica thought this but would have gone by now but no. Easy day ahead hubby loves his watches has plenty to change today! My mum used to say she never got that hour back with clock changes! 😂not looking forward to the dark nights but will embrace them with new knitting project. Hope everyone is ok and love reading your posts.

Good morning from Shropshire where a dry and sunny day is forecast.

Yesterday DH spent the day in the garden.It is all looking lovely.I caught up with household stuff then had a relaxing couple of hours reading/dozing.

Today we will visit mum after lunch and then on the way home we will collect DD’s little dog who is staying for a couple of days.

Hoping all in sick bay are improving.Ash I hope your ankle and knee aren’t giving you too much trouble.

Not a lot planned at PGTowers today apart from lots of washing and baking again as I’ve qualified for more free leccy! Not sure how long it’ll be before they twig that I’m being cute by saving all my week’s washing and use of the oven 😉

Morning, dry for now and 7, yesterday we had drizzle and cloud with occasional sun.
Housework was done and newspaper read, today I need to collect a parcel from M&S containing one Christmas present and jeans for me.
The garden is having a second shout before the frosts.

Good morning from Malta where the weather is still a pleasant 26°C although slightly cloudy.

I woke at my usual 6.25 but was pleased to see how light it was. I only have one clock that needs changing, the rest do it by themselves.

Sorry you are suffering Ashcombe, no wonder after such a long day.

Yesterday I had a surprise visit from DD3 and the boys which really cheered me up.

This morning I have a bit of ironing to do, then Mass after which my weekly FaceTime chat with my friend and then there’s tennis to watch.
I will try to get out for a walk as well since the weather is lovely.

Morning Mick, morning All. A sunny day forecast for our corner of Somerset.

Yesterday was glorious. We took the bus to a local museum, a thoroughly enjoyable wander before lunch in their cafe. I wondered what was hard in mine, oh heck, half a tooth. Next weeks challenge will be working out how to get it fixed. I could feel anxiety rising. Setting that aside we headed for the beach, wonderful to see so many happy families enjoying the sun. Other than the tooth which so far doesn’t hurt it was a gentle, relaxing day. Nothing specific today other than some final garden tidying

An erratic sleep pattern is a benefit for this clock change, other than disliking the darkness arriving earlier I’m fortunately largely unaffected. Mr C always benefits from extra sleeping time and was looking forward to the change. It seems we’re fortunate.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

I remembered to change my clocks etc. it’s probably about time we stopped this nonsense and stayed in line with the rest of Europe.

OH and I are having lunch at a soon to be closed pub today. We have eaten there many times over the years. During those dark days of lock down they were about the only place for miles that kept going and we picked up many takeaway meals from them.

I seem to be more or less over my bug. I have a busy week coming up and don’t really want to cancel things.

Good morning from a still dark North Surrey. A very starry sky last night.
I am not affected by a clock change...apart from changing some settings...I wake up when I wake up. Go to bed when tired. Eat when hungry. Not by the clock. It helps that I have no appointments or committments for a while.
I will be affected as the days get shorter over the next weeks and hope all the new brighter light bulbs I have bought will help.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where the day is just dawning and I forgot to put the clocks back. I was so full of cold yesterday I just spent the day sneezing, blowing my nose and feeling sorry for myself. Not sure whether today will be any better. I’m supposed to be cooking lunch for DD et al. We’ll see.

Good morning from a dry and peaceful Torbay.

I put in a 12 hour day yesterday at the theatre and my ankle and knee are both extremely grumpy this morning! The show went well although was a little too long, and played to an almost full house. Another two shows today, which are selling reasonably well.

I am another who intensely dislikes this clock changing, my bodyclock cannot cope with it and I was fully awake at 4.30 today. I need a walk and will be having an easy and relaxing day, taking advantage of one of my hm ready meals

I have a trip to wales next week and need to get a hat finished, a present with 000s of stitches, very worth making but my finger joints are complaining, the fixed circular needle is thin

The roads were packed with cars yesterday, many more every year I think, still I enjoyed the driving. Sat nav went blank when I started the car, it needed updating and I did that when I got home, such a palaver via a micro sd card. I need to get that tiny thing back into the car today, I need to read the instructions first

Good morning from Bristol. Wasn’t yesterday gorgeous?
I spent an unexpectedly busy day. When getting the paper, I noticed that the greengrocer had lots of “crown Prince” squash at a reasonable price. They are the nicest squash and the family loves them. I asked DD if she wanted some. Yes. So I went back and got her 6! Kept in a frost-free area, they should last until Easter.
Then I had the church coffee, and noticed I had no marmalade. When I got home, i started to make some tinned stuff.
A friend came before lunch to help me get a senior rail card, and the various library apps on to my iPhone/pad.
Then DD came round - no, I didn’t hug her, MD and kept my distance. We had a good chat about this and that, including making the family matching pyjama bottoms with an old duvet cover for their Christmas presents…. She was delighted with her squashes.
One batch of marmalade hadn’t set so I had to re cook it,😡.
I changed clocks and got myself thoroughly confused. Exhausted, I went to bed at ??? O’clock. I loathe the gaining of an hour; it takes me about a week or so to adjust. Jet lag without the holiday!
