Good Morning Wednesday 30th October 2024
(41 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
A dark but dry start here in brackley .
Yesterdays plans changed as soon as i saw the timing of of the Tour De France presentation ,so today will be a bus trip to Bicester this morning.
And relaxing afternoon.
Health wise OK at moment.
Take Care,
Mick
Good morning from a grey Angus coast. I can sense the sun trying to break through though, so I'm keeping the faith.
So much illness and heartache on here today. Baubles
. Susan I am so sorry for you, your family and your mum - so cruel.
I had a lovely morning at tai chi yesterday and then dashed home to hang the washing out. It was a beautiful sunny day, but it wasn't a drying day so it's now finishing off indoors - by a radiator and in front of open windows. It will dry at some point, somehow 😉
Today I have an appointment with my large bedroom - it always gets forgotten when I'm in housework mode, so I must start nibbling away at it. The trouble with a large room is that there's more space for the accumulation of clutter......
So off I trot, via today's Wordle and whatever other procrastination I can find. Keeping my fingers crossed for you FGT and hoping all the others feeling unwell start to recover soon x
Good morning everyone from a very dull and overcast Northampton, set to remain so all day.
My bedding dried beautifully on the line yesterday, and I actually got the hoovering done upstairs, also did the staircase as well, which I hate doing, as it is a magnet for the cats' fur!
A good walk with the group in the afternoon, then enjoyed coffee and lemon drizzle cake afterwards.
Tried to collect my reserved library book as I had an email saying it was in - but it wasn't. They have re-ordered it for me. So caught up on a couple.of magazines from my stash.
Book club this afternoon - yummy cake and coffee again! Then Bolognese for dinner tonight.
Thinking of all those coping with difficult situations, and hope today brings some relief.
Morning from Giffnock, children off to school and having a peaceful coffee.
Susan I hadn’t realised that your mum’s hospitalisation was the result of a pharmacy error, how terrible for her and you. You have so much on your plate but it certainly should be followed up. I wish you strength for that.
I’m heading to the Royal Infirmary this morning to see my 89 year old sister in law. She has been failing for a while and was admitted as an emergency last week. Everything changes.
Condolences baubles, glad you got your flights etc sorted, take care.
So much going on this morning, good wishes to all for the best day possible.
Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
First time at music club yesterday after op and it was lovely to see everyone. I didn’t sing and had a good excuse to get out of the clearing away at the end etc. Then into the village in search of tasty puréed food I can manage. I’d love a bag of crisps!
Strange meal in the evening, a little mashed potato, tinned tomatoes and gravy🤔, but I enjoyed it. Then a quiet evening watching tv with DD followed by a broken night. I’d like to go to the lunchtime recital in town today, as I normally do, but think it may be too much. I might read my book instead.
Thoughts to Susan, hoping for good news FGT, lovely pic Bonnybanko and thoughts to all🌺
.
Good morning all. Dh is off fishing and I’m still lounging around.
Church first and then a wander around the market. My usual coffee pal is away so I won’t stop for one. I’m expecting a delivery of a pillow for sore ears. It has a hole for your ear to rest in. This is the second one I’ve tried, so I hope it works. 🤞.
Take care all and thoughts to all those struggling, one way or another. Life can be so tough at times.🙏
Good morning from Somerset where it is fine but still misty.
I’m here for a couple of days with the Birmingham family, easy drive down yesterday and hoping to catch up with one of my oldest friends (we met on a pre-St Andrews meet-up for new students from the Borders when we were 17!) on my drive home.
We’ll be meeting near Amesbury where she lives and haven’t seen each other for far too long.
🤞🤞🤞 for reassuring news from FGT and my wishes for a pleasant day for you all.
A late morning Mick and all, grey skies again, very dreary.
Yesterday my son, fiancée and her daughter came for a roast, clean plates all round, it was good to have a proper chat too.
Today I have the dentist 🙁, tonight joining WI, hope to hear from my daughter at some point.
Safe journey to the travellers over the next couple of days, Susan I have no words 🌹
FGT I hope your d-dimer test was negative 🤞
🦩🦩
Good morning Mick and everyone from grey Carlisle.
I was busy with vacuuming and bathroom cleaning but it didn't do my annoying infection any good so I spent the rest of the day sitting about doing admin and reading.
Today I have a hair appointment which I'm determined to keep, I'll just have to take it gently up the steps from the car park. I'm trying to emulate Marydoll 's bloodymindedness!....and I hope you are feeling more up to it today, M.
Some gentle kitchen cleaning when I get back and a catch up with my growing pile of magazines is overdue.
My thoughts are with all of you with problems and I hope FGT finds her pain is nada mucho!
Posts disappear if of more than three lines🤔
You are very welcome to commission quilts from me, if delivery date is not fixed!
Good morning from a bright sunny Cambridgeshire.
DD2 and the little ones came for lunch and the afternoon yesterday and we carved the pumpkins a big and little one each. Then DH and the 5 yr old started lego together and the 10 year old assembled and painted a Halloween wreath. Everyone was happy and busy.
Today I have a tutu to decorate for DGD2 upcoming ballet medal. DD2 started it and needs help finishing it. I’ll do it whilst the light is good this morning.
This afternoon is hair cut and colour and a pop in to M & S nearby.
Hope everyone has a good day 💐
Good morning from a dry NE where the sun has just come out.
Nice chat with the hairdresser yesterday while she worked her magic.
DS and GD2 are coming this morning, they will escape day three of the bedroom fitters and the noise it entails. Poor DIL will have to work from home.
Shopping today and then GD is going out with her camera to gather some material for her artwork.
My condolences baubles 💐
Good morning from a grey W Kent. Off to catch up with a friend I haven’t seen for some weeks. She had some health problems diagnosed so I hope we can try and sort life out a bit. My hearing has really got worse lately I must try and get a retest soon.
Susan thinking of you
Very best wishes
Good morning from a cracking sunshine today on the east coast of Fife. The best home shop in Fife has its C decorations up the kids love it especially the 2 wee girls I went shopping with they’re so cute. I’m off again to meet up with an old friend from my teenage years we’re going to have a really nice afternoon tea with a glass of Prosecco.
I really live the high life I’m so blessed.
Enjoy your day my friends we don’t know what’s a round the corner
Good morning from N.Bucks. Dull here but dry.
At home day for me. On line art class at 10. I will make soup for the freezer and make a sample of the next project for craft club.
WI committee meeting this evening.
Healing thoughts for all who need them and a good day wished for everyone.
Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 7°C.
So much worry and angst on here at the moment. Susan, I hope you make some progress today. 💐
So many posters with burdens to bear.
Grammaretto, if you are driving, be aware, it is very difficult to park at the Jubilee. It is one of the hospitals I attend.
I did manage out to Silverburn yesterday, but all I managed was M &S, Tesco and TKMaxx. I was so slow, that DH was concerned that I was out for so long!
In Tesco, I bumped into an ex colleague of my sister in law. Many years ago, I was roped into helping on a school trip to Butlins with her school. Foolishly (I was pregnant) I went on a cable car with this teacher. It broke down, mid air. 😱
The lady started panicking, shouting, Help, help, we have a very pregnant lady trapped up here. I was totally unphased, but what a rollicking I got from the rest of the staff, when we landed.
I know her husband well, he was the fearsome HT of two different High schools and treated me so well, when I was decanted with four primary classes to the high school.
Our chat really cheered me up.
In Tesco, I noticed a text from DIL. ( she is always checking up on me),
I said I was in Silverburn ( got told off for not resting) and she responded saying that she had been in Tesco and heard someone coughing and was sure it was me. However, she couldn't find me. It was indeed me. How embarrassing to be identified by your cough!
DD appeared unexpectedly last night, that is the third time in four days. I suspect she is checking up on me, for I always say I am fine. 😉
I have had another bad night, so I will not be doing much today. I feel something is brewing, I cannot stop yawning, a sign that my heart is struggling. It is quite unsettling.
I hope FGT gets a positive result this morning with her scan.
Have a good day folks.
The forecast says misty with light winds but the sky is grey and it looks like an indoor day with paper wrangling and reading the most sensible occupations.
Sorry you are having such a difficult time, Susan, and hope the right future for your DM can be reached soon. Life feels very unfair sometimes.
Morning Mick, morning All from a gloomy corner of Somerset. Grey, heavy sky we call an Eeyore day.
Frustrating day yesterday. The hairdresser wasn’t shall we say at her best, far too short. I’m really miserable about it as my hair grows so slowly. Items we had ordered for the kitchen were too large and had to be returned, my tooth has begun to hurt, a refund promised hadn’t appeared. Just one of those days, nothing major. Today will be better. Friends are coming for coffee and a putting the world to right session, slow cooker is already on with a beef casserole so an easy (and soft!) meal this evening, time to chat with friends in the afternoon
Worrying news about our friend, the move to a nursing home hasn’t gone smoothly. She’s very miserable and has deteriorated hugely and of course her daughter, our goddaughter, is extremely upset by it all.
To say I’m so sorry for the situation is totally inadequate susan, I hope writing that letter has helped and there is better hospital care. Disappearing posts are such a nuisance. Safe travels greyd, monk karma tomorrow and all on the move. Sad news baubles.
Best get a wriggle on or our friends will be here before we’ve had breakfast. Have the best day you can everyone.
Good morning from a warm and sunny Alicante, typical last day weather after 2 days of rain and strong winds.
We leave early tomorrow morning, I expect it to be gloriously sunny and even warmer. At least we can have a nice stroll along the beach today , yesterday everything was closed up due to the storms.
The food in the Hotel is very good so at least we don’t have to wander around looking for restaurants. MrOops will probably use the pool today whilst I sit with my book.
Susan 💐
Thoughts are with those with worries, stress and ill health.
Have a good day everyone.
Enjoy your break in Wales Monk
Good morning from a dull and cloudy Black Country, where it is quite mild.
Pleasant few hours with my cousin and aunt. Cousin is doing so well considering all she is going through. Then popped in to see DD and girls on the way home.
Sorted out Mums house insurance which had gone up over £70 from last year. The current insurer wouldn't even try to match it.
No real plans today, as a meet up with a friend was cancelled, so the world is my Lobster
Wishing you all the best day possible.
Good morning all from a dry Black country.
Well we are off to Wales today we are going by train, neither DS or DiL drive and our car not big enough for all of us.
I'm not taking my tablet and I have a very basic phone my choice so will be out of touch for a few days.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.
Good morning all. Weather is supposed to quieten down for a while.
Yesterday we had DGS2 for the day. He was fine apart from one mega tantrum just before lunch. Then we went over to the other GP’s where they had a family Halloween party. They’d decorated their house beautifully.
Today we have DGD3. We will have to take her along with us when we get our flu vaccinations but she will have us both with her as we take turn to keep an eye on her in the waiting room. I will have to wash out the purple dye in my hair first which I sprayed in while dressing up yesterday - don’t want to scare anyone! Then we will take her for lunch at Ask in Marlborough.
I hadn’t known poor Susan56’s mother had become so ill as a result of a pharmacist’s error. That is shocking.
Have a good day everyone. Hope all with illness and worries have respite.
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s just light and looks like we’ve some blue sky
Sorry to hear about your uncle baubles sending condolences to all the family
Susan56 it must be so difficult for you and your mum, sending ❤️
So frustrating about the lost posts gMattie and Dunworking not sure what’s going on
I've a volunteering session this morning then hopefully if it’s still dry I’ll get some gardening done this afternoon
Safe travels Greyduster and everyone on the move today
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Belated anniversary wishes Ash Safe journeys for those travelling. Susan 💐 my sister dealt with our mum in similar circumstances, it’s so hard.
Condolences Baubles.
Glad to say my Covid and flu jabs didn’t cause me any problems.
I’ll pop back to the corner now. Hope today is good to you all.
