Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and cloudy. Very warm start to November! Baubles 💐. Susan is your mum going home or to a home?
Yesterday I had a morning of paperwork to do so the lawyer can lodge the application for guardianship for mum. Later I made soup. I've never had any guides in the six years I've been here, so stopped buying anything in. To my horror I heard a wee knock last night. I didn't answer the door and feel very guilty about it.
The boys dressed up as minions from the Despicable films and we're very cute.
Today I have to visit the lawyer first thing, then dd will nip in with dgs2 after playgroup for his soup. Later I'm meeting a friend for coffee in town then picking up my prescription. Have a good day all.
Morning everyone
It’s grey here in S E Essex, should be dry. I have The Imp today (his brother has gone to work with Dad, he will go later this afternoon). DH has been asked (told) that he has to go to the park first thing, so that will give me time to get sorted.
November already, must make the Christmas cake 🎄🤶🏻
Have a good day folks 🐇🐇🐇
Morning from another grey day in S Hants. Busyish day yesterday, washing, lunch with a friend - bubble and squeak, ham and eggs, delicious. Library trip then took another friend to our local airport, I missed a lot of the children in their costumes, delightful.
Today is Tesco delivery, moving dust and pub tonight.
🦩🦩
Good morning all from an overcast Suffolk coast.
A good journey up yesterday and the weather was warm, sunny and calm. We sat in the garden with our coffee and bacon sandwiches (tradition when we arrive) and watched a couple of hardy ladies go in for a swim. No wetsuits, just swim costumes.😱.
Last night I had my book club in a local pub. Our usual little snug was taken o er by a group of men so we had to sit in a little corner by the bar , it was so busy. The kindly bar lady brought us nibbles as an apology. A good discussion and talks of a Christmas meal there.
Bluesapphire we’ve had similar problems to you re washing whirligig and woodburner chimney.
We lit our stove for the first time this year, settled down with a glass of Sherry and there was a knock on the door. Our lovely next door neighbour saying smoke and smell was coming into her house. We must have a blockage . Poor lady she was so apologetic. We reassured her we would put it out and we’ll call someone in today to investigate. ‘Always something isn’t there’ 🙄.
Not sure what today will bring but I hope everyone has an ok day.🙏
Good morning from a dry NE.
Yesterday was a lovely mild day with lots of su sunshine.
I had my gutters cleaned and then windows and paintwork, he did a good job.
I went into to the garden and picked up leaves and generally tidied round. My neighbour from opposite came for a chat, I haven't seen her to talk to for months. Interesting catch up, we have both lived here for 53 years.
I might do some laundry today and I also have some financial things to sort and calendar to update.
Have a good day.
Good morning from my misty patio in Cornwall. To Newquay yesterday then hunkered down at home to avoid all things ghoulish. Today it's the dentist which I don't mind, then to my allotment. See pic - it's surrounded by trees and gets very little sunlight so I've created a wildlife and fungi patch. Hopefully the one you end up with will be more productive karmalady!
Good morning everyone. It’s another nice day here in Malta, blue skies but feels a bit cooler.
Had an awful night and have woken with a headache so I’m not planning on doing much this morning.
Wishing you all a good day.☀️
Good morning from Shropshire.Another dry dull day forecast.
We had a lovely hour in town with DGD while DD and H were at a book event. We then went to see mum who was the best we have seen her.She is ready for discharge but nothing is straightforward and no date yet.
Today we will have the morning at home then flu jabs this afternoon.DD will then drop the children off for a sleepover.
Have the best day possible everyone💐🦩
Good morning all from a cloudy (again) North Leicestershire.
We have to take our 3 month old car to the dealership first thing. It was completely dead yesterday and wouldn't charge.
I have a pedicure booked at lunchtime while DH has a volunteer drive. I feel a big sit down will be necessary this afternoon as I slept dreadfully.
Good morning everyone from a pleasantly warm Málaga. We have total white cloud cover (probably a result from all the rain they’ve had this week). The tops of the mountains behind us are not visible and looking to my right from our front door I could not see the coastline over yonder, Málaga itself. Ah well, standing there I could smell the pine trees, it’s just so good to be back.
Today will be a small shop at the supermarket after breakfast - we have the essentials. I’ve just been brought a mug of tea. The day will unfold and we shall decide what to do. We are so grateful to be here for two weeks while we wait for Himself’s scan result. I’m pushing all those thoughts onto the back burner. 😊
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s just getting light and looks grey and damp
Baubles hope all goes ok today 💐
I’ve got my winter vaccinations this morning and then a volunteering session this afternoon, in between I think I’ll have a browse around the shops in town and get a quick lunch somewhere. One of DD2s house viewers from Monday is coming for a second viewing today so that’s good news, I’m trying to stay positive for her but the highs and lows are awful
Sounds like a really enjoyable but busy family time Rosies, happy memories made
So annoying about the washing pole BlueSapphire it’s happened to me ages ago too
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Morning Mick, morning All. Grey and gloomy looking out there after a day of warm sunshine yesterday.
A decidedly grumpy start to cornerland, a week of little sleep is beginning to have its impact. Yesterday was thoroughly enjoyable once the patronising and incredibly unhelpful cooker service engineer had departed. The day was too good to stay indoors so we headed off to our nearest National Trust, all very enjoyable culminating with a scone and a cuppa.
Volunteering this morning, TaiChi this afternoon (if I’ve the energy!) followed by a phone chat with our development area manager. We know each other well, it’s like a chat with a friend.
The sun must have been difficult for your journey karma, Lyme Regis is a place holding many happy memories for us maw, we’re reminiscing away here.
Have the best day you can everyone.
Morning all from West Oxfordshire.
Elder son and his family are calling in after lunch and staying until tomorrow. I will sort their rooms out later. It will be good to see them and I expect my granddaughter will tell us all about trick or treating in Kew yesterday.
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning and Happy White Rabbits Day from a still dark and dry Northampton. Hoping for a better day than yesterday!
First of all I decided to do some washing as it was forecast to be sunny. Hung everything out, looked at the rotary washing line which was leaning to one side, straightened it, only to have the pole completely snap off and collapse onto the grass. It had completely rusted away. Washing had to go in the tumble dryer. Well, I suppose.it earned its keep, as DH installed it when we moved here over 30 years ago. Have ordered a new one from Amazon which is arriving today. I suppose it will be fun and games to install the new one...
Then two gas engineers arrived to service the boiler and gas fire, only for the fire to fail its flue test, meaning that the smoke was not drawing up the chimney. The fire had to be disconnected, and now I have to find a sweep who is gas qualified to sweep the chimney, which was not an easy job to do yesterday. There are none locally and the nearest I have found is in Bicester, about 25/30 miles away. I have emailed them, and await a reply.
Out for coffee this morning with fellow dancers - there are no classes today as our teacher is on holiday, so we decided to meet up for coffee instead.
Will have an early.dinner as I am out for a rugby match tonight.
Today is my baby sister's 70th birthday - I have sent her some flowers which I hope she likes.
Wishing all a pleasant Friday.
Good morning from a cloudy W Kent. Shopping today combined with sorting out some old photos to take to DGD2’s 18th birthday family party.
Hope the allotment is right for you Karma
Enjoy all the travels
Best wishes
Good morning from a dry but grey Essex. No sun forecast for today, but we had a sunny afternoon yesterday. Cut back some of the brambles which are invading from my neighbour’s garden.
Ironing today and must get organised for my hip operation next week, and stay at DD1s afterwards. Several birthdays during that time, and of course Christmas! Trying to get my head round it all, lots of lists needed!
ash enjoy your walk.
rosiesmaw your trip to Lyme Regis sounds lovely, one of my favourite places!
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning from a clear, promising looking Torbay.
Thinking of you, baubles. Many years ago we spent New Year in Dublin and I have fond memories of the city and the friendliness of the people.
A pile of ironing awaits my attention then I might take a walk to look at the sea from the Downs.
Have a good weekend, everyone! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩
Good morning (still) from Somerset but I shall be heading home today. Yesterday was spent at Lyme Regis ,throwing balls for D’s cocker spaniel Luna on Monmouth beach, then a lovely lunch at Mark Hix Oyster and Fish restaurant before more walking through the gardens and into the town. Found a Seasalt shop which was doing a very good offer it would have been rude to refuse while the children hit the book shop.
It had turned into a gloriously sunny and mild day - my sympathies to you Karma driving into that sun, it’s something I absolutely hate, (and have come to fear.)
Anyway home to prepare a Halloween tea, decorate the table, dress up, put out a pumpkin at the door and a Piñata in the garden and the day ended (very) late with Harry Potter 4.
It’s been a treat to spend 4 days with D2 and family in Paris last week and now with D1 and family this week.
But I’ll be happy to sink into my quieter life and glad to see Rosie when I pick her up from the kennels.
Wishing you all a pleasant day and safe travels if you are out and about.
Good morning Michael and all GNs. No idea what the weather is like in York this morning, it’s still dark. I spent a lovely long, sometimes emotional, day with an old friend yesterday and we talked ourselves to a standstill. I wish we lived nearer to each other. Today DS and DiL have the day off so we are going into York to walk along the River Ouse and have lunch, and then this evening I will meet some of their friends in their local pub. Home tomorrow.
Have the best day you can folks.
Good morning, ‘tis dark, cool and dry here in south Glos. Yesterday’s misty early dog walk was decidedly chilly, very atmospheric though.
I had a quiet morning then decided to sort out all my card making stash to sell, I no longer use it, so spent an hour getting it all together.
I’m almost done with Dgs1’s socks, I will finish them today. I have ironing to do first thing and I need to rearrange my fabric stash so I know where everything is! I actually enjoy sorting through things and making them tidy (procrastination at its finest, I am a master of it!)
I assembled my tapestry floor stand, highly relieved that no bits were missing 😅
Lots of bits and pieces to do today!
Take care everyone 🌹
Good morning it’s pitch black outside these curtains on the east coast of Fife.
I went to bed early last night and missed the trick or treaters . I’m off to my local club today then on to Sainsburys followed by Argos to get a black ink cartridge for my printer which I use every day.
I’m going to have sausages and toast for my breakfast this morning
Have a good day my friends wherever you are
Good morning from s somerset, another bland -weather day
I was so glad to get back after my return journey to Wales. The motorways were crazy busy, the pops of sun blinding. I went up to bed at 8 and sat in my warm cosy bed knitting but could only manage an hour, my eyes were shutting
I have been offered an allotment and will be seeing the plot at the weekend. I will be sensible, hoping it has not been totally neglected. It is not far away and I can easily get to it on my bike. I hope I like it, it will be somewhere to go, shared hobby, grounding and also meeting people
Today, a bit of sewing and lots of knitting
Have a good day
Good morning from Dublin.
I caught the bus from the airport to the city centre yesterday then walked to my hotel, pausing at the site of the house where my mother grew up and where I also lived as a child. A little further along I popped into the church where I was baptised. I always feel that I’m home here although I’ve lived in Scotland for most of my life.
Yesterday evening the wake was a mixture of tears and laughter as all the cousins reminisced and caught up with each other’s stories.
I expect today will be similar.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning Mick and all who follow. Not sure about the weather but last night we drove home in thick fog. Whatever we get today has to be an improvement.
My morning will be filled with doing the washing from holiday and a shopping delivery at lunchtime.
Have a good day everyone.
