I thought it sounded as if the abandonment may have been when he came down and collapsed in the foyer before his fall did the man who found him send him back to his room I m not sure but we can’t always be responsible for others actions
I m sure it will all l come out

That is true Doodledog, and obvs not all the details have come out, but it does seem that these people supplied Liam with the drugs and the word ‘abandoned’ prior to death doesn’t sound as if they were escaping. But could just be a legal term.

Agreed, but (again speaking generally) if I give you a bottle of gin, and you decide to drink it all and get become violent (or even just generally obnoxious) and I know it's likely to end in an argument so go home, isn't that much the same situation? I've supplied the cause of the problem and abandoned you.

Different if I realised you were dying and disappeared rather than be accused of having supplied you with the cause of your death, of course.

The LP case is very sad whatever happened, as it is such a waste of a young life, but generally these things are rarely straightforward, particularly where people are drinking or taking drugs together and voluntarily.

I agree doodlebug we don’t know enough about the details to judge

Difficult. Obviously we don't know the situation in this case, but speaking generally, if someone is drunk or drugged and is behaving aggressively people shouldn't be accused of abandonment if they leave for their own safety.

Looks like he was abandoned in an extremely vulnerable state due to the drugs he'd been supplied with and taken, by those who'd supplied them.

So it could have been prevented.

Well they will have to live with his death on their conscience, or even end up serving a sentence.
The abandonment charge sounds really sad, certainly Liam must have been left just prior to falling to his death.
😞

I haven't heard of abandonment as a charge before, and it says "followed by death" as if that is part of the charge, too.

They have been charged with abandonment of a person, and supplying narcotics.

Oh no, how terrible, am imagining they supplied him with drugs etc. Or were they there when it happened?
This must be so alarming for his loved ones.

Just seen on sky news.
