Good morning all. It’s a bit of a damp morning in Glasgow which means leaf clearing is on hold at present but the long never ending to do list awaits🙃 Deep joy!
The owner of a local small art gallery who also run workshops was delighted to receive the huge bag of DH’s many unused oils, acrylics, pastels, brushes etc. In return I received an invitation to their exhibition next month……an outing. 👍
Joining the rubbish sleep club this morning, 4hrs doesn’t bode well for a productive day. Hey ho.
Good luck for a positive outcome from your appointment Georgesgran.
Best wishes to all. Keep on keeping on.

Good Morning Friday 8th November 2024
(46 Posts)Good morning everyone from Inverness where it promises to be another warm sunny day, so unusual for November.
I’ll waft some sunshine further south if I can 😀
Hoping all goes well with the appointments today Bellas and georgesgran
Well done to the DGC on their school reports gMattie and GG13
A busy day ahead, we’ve DGD here so school drop off first thing, an online volunteering session then a much needed hair appointment this afternoon.
Sounds like an adventure for MzOops Oops, good for her and hoping Miss Oops house move goes well on Saturday
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
My thoughts are with you, gg and bella. 🤗
Good luck with appointments Georgesgran and Bella
Georgesgran hope your hospital appointments goes well and your doctor appointment Bellasnana.
Lovely meal yesterday evening, so nice to have our small family together.
Not opened curtains yet so can’t comment on the weather.
Have a good day everyone.
*R&L, I have been doing the same. The school are so grateful, due to the cost of everything.
God morning all from Glasgow, where it is 10°C.
Another poor sleeper here!
We had a delightful day with our girls yesterday. All the way around the garden centre, BabyD kept saying Wow at the Christmas dispays. Oh the joy of seeing everything through the eyes of a child.
Bella and Georgesgran, wishing you all the fest for your medical appointments.
Enjoy your day, whatever your plans.
Georgesgran 🤞🏻🤞🏻
Good morning everyone from a very damp, dark, dull and quite frankly dreary hillside in south Glos where the lack of sunshine is beginning to make me grumpy 😠
At least I can get outside for dog walks which I thoroughly enjoy.
I happily dropped off a considerable amount of craft materials at the village school yesterday, which were very gratefully received. I was given a lot of bits that I won’t use so I’m only too pleased that they can make use of it.
It’s freed up cupboard space too!
I hope today goes well for you all 🌹
Morning all, I gave to wake the 8yr old up
and feed him (egg and bacon sandwich along with fresh orange juice) and get him to school by 8am.
It was parent evening at school, DD was pleased apparently The Imp is doing extremely well and is in the top percentage of his class, very clever, very polite and a character. The 9yr old is doing better than he thinks, (he is yr 5 age wise but is in a yr6 class)
Gym first thing, coffee and catch up, then a pottering day.
Have a good one 🙋♀️
Good luck with that appointment georgesgran. Hope all goes well.
Good morning from a dark Oxfordshire, it was raining last night so I expect more of the same today.
Dog woke me up at 6am snoring very loudly by the bedroom door, she will stay here until MissOops moves house on Saturday, I won’t be helping as I still have Vertigo, but MrOops will be there with her plus the removal crew. Shopping delivery later as I’m not able to do much cooking, easy stuff being delivered that MrOops can deal with.
MzOops is now in Budapest and had to buy a Winter coat in a Charity shop as it’s much colder now after the South of France, no work opportunities so just a holiday at the moment and she will decide where to go and what to do next, trying to find work in exchange for bed and board, successful so far.
Hope all the poorly grans soon start to feel better, have a good day everyone.
Good morning from Durham. Again, another still, dry day, but definitely getting cooler here.
I’ve the last couple of loads of DD2’s laundry to see to, then she’s taking me to a hospital appointment, which has come as a bolt from the blue and I’m very concerned. Not a local hospital, so sat-nav is needed.
DD1 gave me a wishlist for Christmas - a fancy Dyson appliance for her hair, so that’s easy and her DH is after his favourite cologne - sorted! DGS1 is another matter.
Looking forward to reading the thread as it progresses.
Best wishes to all. X
Good morning from Malta where we have had thunderstorms overnight with more rain expected during the day. Temp has dropped to 20°C high and 15°C low.
I have a doctor’s appointment this morning so will be going out of the house for the first time since Monday. I could easily become a hermit.
I need a few bits from the grocery store then I will come home and make soup.
Weekly hair appointment this afternoon, hoping she will have time to cut it as well.
Love the bags grandMattie and am in awe of how you fill your days so productively especially when you sleep so little.
Wishing a good day to all ☀️
Good morning from another cloudy day in Torbay.
How frustrating these poor nights are, grandMattie. Pleasing news about the progress of your granddaughters.
Thank you for all the kind messages for olddudders as he travelled here yesterday. I’m pleased to say he had a perfect journey and I was on the platform to meet him at Torre (a suburb of Torquay) as the train from Newton Abbot pulled in exactly on time, ending a 12 hour journey!
A quiet day will be welcome here! I hope everyone else enjoys what they’ve planned. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩
Good morning from s somerset, same weather as yesterday and the day before
Allotment clearing again today, it is very hard work but I am making progress. Wishing I had a chainsaw but will have to use a normal saw while kneeling. Old bushes and self-sown trees are very hard to remove
Last night dd asked if I would make her another tracksuit, naturally I said yes but it will have to be after christmas. I am being single-minded at the moment.
Have a good day
Good morning, Michael and all GNs. I have been awake since four with all sorts of stuff buzzing round in my head. I had a nice day yesterday - a good outing with the walking group, lunch at DDs and then a lovely couple of hours with my niece and her little granddaughter. I had taken a crate of Lego Duplo (for little hands) that had been GS’s. She loved it, and I couldn’t resist getting down on my knees and playing with her even though it was a struggle to get back up again!! How I miss all that.
Dentist this morning, and then to school for my volunteer sessions this afternoon.
Have the best day you can, folks.
Morning Mick, morning All. Another Eeyore day forecast for our corner of Somerset. I keep repeating to myself it’s mild, don’t let the clouds worry you.
Batch cooking bubbling away in the slow cooker the kitchen had a good scrub before I ventured into the loft to bring yet more unused stuff down. I discovered one of thr boards has failed, Mr C says he can replace it, oh heck he’s not been in the loft for at least ten years. I’m hoping common sense will kick in and he’ll agree to ask a son to help out. At 81 with a struggle to stand up once down it’s time to promote himself to a supervisory position
Really pleased in the afternoon when an item I’d advertise for sale without too much hope of finding a buyer was collected.
You’re not alone with sleep issues grandmattie , totally agree, it’s definitely not fair. Those little bags are very pretty, don’t underestimate your talent with fabric. Your church is fortunate to have your baking talents too.
Nothing much planned here today. A wander to Waitrose and that’s about it.
With thoughts to all finding life a challenge and a hope Friday is kind to us all.
Morning from S Hants, still dark, but I’m sure there are grey skies poised.
Pretty bags gMattie, you always impress me with your skills, I have none on the creative front.
I did however knock up five lasagna for the freezer yesterday, my son and partner practically begged for some.
Tesco delivery later, MrJ is on a voluntary drive, he recently started the drives and is feeling his way.
Safe journeys to those travelling and thoughts with those absent - Blossoming 🌹

Good morning from the usual grey Bristol.
I slept badly despite a lot of exercise yesterday and no afternoon nap either. “It’s not fair!” as my children (and yours, no doubt) used to say.
I spent the day fiddling with scraps of fabric and ended up making those two little bags.
Dinner at DD’s was really pleasant, everyone was in a good mood, helped by the girls having had a good report. The thing that pleased their parents was that they both have excellent attitudes to learning - essential.
Today, I have a Spanish class and need to bake as I’m serving coffee in church tomorrow.
Take care y’all. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
Good Morning Everyone,
Its a dark but dry start here in brackley this morning.
Today usual bus journey to Bicester ,hopefully have a chat with some people I know.
On the health front no change ,and I am not putting weight on either.
Take Care,
Mick
