Good afternoon everyone!

It's 7.8C. here in little Appleby.

Nothing particularly exciting happened at work yesterday other than when I was emptying a 1/2 bottle of rotting milk from the staff fridge that someone had left I dropped it and spilt stinking curdles all over the floor!

And when I was needle felting I accidentally poked a size 32 pointy needle in my finger and OMG it h.u.r.t! Spilt blood and foul language!

Interesting to hear that harrigran. I lived in the village all my childhood and my sister is still in the area. I can never remember The Grand as a cinema but only being a Bingo Hall in a later life. I had never been inside until the Beamish rebuild and it really lives up to it's name. In the words of my 10year old GS2, "They don't build cinemas like this any more". He thought the lights and the stained glass windows, depicting two sailing ships, were amazing.
I hope you manage to see it soon.

Late good morning from a grey but dry NE.
Spent yesterday tidying drawers in the bedroom and getting rid of unwanted stuff.
DS sent me a photo of his new musical instrument, a mandolin, his banjo is being restrung. He will bring it tomorrow and play for me no doubt.
I am going out for a late lunch with my friend, she has her annual check up at noon.
Love Beamish Annypop and I am looking forward to visiting the 50s Town. The cinema was taken from just down the road from me.

Good morning from the edge of South Lanarkshire where I’ve stayed overnight after a nice evening with DD4 and DSIL.
First time I’ve been here since their wee pooch died two weeks ago and they are still very sad but we had good fun talking about mad family incidents and it definitely helped for a bit anyway.

Meeting two friends for lunch before I head home so that should be good.

I hope your appointment goes well Georgesgran and I think FGT’s advice might be worth considering Bellasnana. Your doctor sounds lovely though and I’m sure will give you good support. Good luck x

Good morning Mick and everyone from still grey Carlisle, although it did pop weakly out on occasion yesterday.
I'm another with a poor night's sleep, first I was slow in nodding off then I woke at 4.30 and couldn't get back to sleep. Eventually I put the World Service on, my usual go-to in that situation, it often has interesting items and interviews unlike UK-centric Radio 4. I dozed on and off and finally got up for a bracing shower. I need bracing as I'm supposed to be going off to Newcastle later.
I'll just potter till then.

Good Morning All, no weather change , lights on most of yesterday
Went to local History Society talk last night , our locale. Headteacher and well known raconteur spoke about customs and superstitions throughout the year , he ran over time , but it was so enjoyable that no one noticed!
Off to Art class this morning, the best bit is my lovely , much younger friend and I chat nonstop , she is a lovely painter too
Having been awake since 4 ill no doubt snooze this afternoon
I can see a Nerine has bloomed , I did plant at least a dozen but only one flower !

Thank you all so much for your warm welcome.
We had a lovely time at Beamish yesterday. We usually take the GG there during school holidays, so it was a treat for us to be enjoying a visit on a quieter day, as the staff had more time to engage with individuals.
The Grand Cinema, rebuilt there from the village where I was born is always worth a visit. A film specially made in 1950's style reminded me of how the cows were herded from field to field each day along the main road. The farm was on the lane where we lived and going to and from school was always a challenge. I was terrified of them.
Today we're heading off to The Green Howard's museum in Richmond ( our pass expires today). They have a magnificent display of "mouseman" furniture which I really admire.
DG1 has arrived safely in Poland. They are training today ready for the competition to begin on Saturday. She is excited beyond belief.
Good luck with that hospital appointment GG and the same to anyone else with troubles or worries.

Forgot the picture !

Good morning from N. Bucks where it is typical November weather but at least not raining.
Had a lovely couple of hours with DGS 2 & 3 yesterday they were very keen to draw and paint having seen the Christmas card I had been done. The elder produced this picture of Paddington. Good observational skills I thought.He didn’t copy a picture just drew it from memory.
Today DH has gone to golf and I am going to treat myself to a mooch around some shops. No agenda but maybe some Christmassy things will find their way into my basket.
Hope all appointments and outings go well that poorlies are improving and everyone finds a smile in their day.

Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast after a tossin’ and turnin’ night, only explained by the suspense film Ripley watched last night (v.good).

Enjoyed a coffee with friend from art group yesterday and she brought me irises (my favourite flower) and roses after my op.
Bit of shopping and I am trying to walk upright, but the abdominal discomfort makes it trying.

Off now for flu jab, hope no reaction as I have pianist friend coming tomorrow and will stay overnight. He will have to look after himself.

Awaiting the next team of loft insulators and hoping the job will proceed as planned, so am tied to the house today. Not quite sure how to occupy myself though I could sort out the Christmas card labels which no longer print in middle of the labels. Might be best to just start again, I suspect. Yet another grey day and no sun in the forecast but say least it’s not raining so I suppose that’s something to be grateful for,

Bellasnana what a thoughtful doctor you have. Kind. Reminds me of mine in February when she diagnosed pleurisy. She helped me into my coat because lifting my arm was difficult then knowing our home situation, asked me if I’d like a hug. No wonder I cried. Such empathy.

Be mindful of your own mental health this winter tailing off those tablets. Maybe after ten years a few more months wouldn’t matter and do it in the springtime instead when sunny days are in front of you? You say yourself that now you’re not minding your twin grandsons you could easily become a hermit, so be careful. x

Good morning from Shropshire.Another dry and dull day.

Yesterdays visit to mum was very mixed.She started off very cheerful but then got very depressed and voicing her very dark thoughts.We both felt exhausted when we left.

On the way home DH noticed a farm shop and cafe we have never noticed despite driving past it six times a week🤦🏼‍♀️we went in and what a find.Beautiful cakes and lovely staff.

I feel a bit sad this morning but a morning at home pottering will see me right.School pick up and the children will come back for a sleepover.

I hope your appointment goes well Georgesgran🙏🏻and hope Himself is on the mend FGT.

Good morning everyone from another grey and dull day in Northampton. Hope this gloom lifts soon and we get some sun.

A.busy day yesterday: Sainsbury's delivery, and actually washed the.kitchen, porch and cloakroom floors. Steam mop is upstairs, ready to do the bathrooms.
After lunch, headed out to the shops; picked up my orders from M&S, did a top-up shop,.then went to Sainsbury's to pick up my newly laundered duvet from the Timpsons outlet.
Went for the.next bus at 4.15, only to find it had been cancelled, so had to wait 40 minutes in the cold for the next one, which was heaving so had to stand for the first 10 minutes of the journey. Eventually got home at 5.30.

Three dance classes this morning, then thankfully nothing else planned for the rest of the day!

Good morning all . I won’t mention the weather 🌫️.

It was nice to have Dd and little gd here after school. I sewed a few badges on to her brownie uniform. I’m not very good at it and they’re always a bit wonky. I counted up how many uniforms I’ve done this with. My own 3 children - Brownies, cubs, scouts, guides. Then gd1 brownies, twin gs’s cubs and scouts, now youngest gd brownies. You would think I would be better at it by now 🤔.

Today we will meet up with our Friday pals for drinks and chat.

Good morning everyone from a pleasantly warm Málaga. Sun is forecast again from late morning. 😊

We were going to meet friend for lunch today but Himself has been pretty zonked with a cough and heart cold these last few days so we’ve pushed back our get together till Monday in the hope he has more energy by then and feels like socialising - plus obviously not wanting to pass this onto anyone. He is showering now, singing in the bathroom so I’m hoping today he is finally turning a corner as I’ve been a bit concerned at times to be honest. With his health issues he doesn’t need this. Nor me. Another quiet day ahead.

Update: it is absolutely chucking it down here. My doctor called and asked if I’d like to postpone my appointment to avoid going out in the deluge. How thoughtful she is as are all you kind ladies sending well wishes.

I don’t have anything urgent wrong with me, just a couple of niggly things plus needing advice as to how to wean myself off the pills I’ve been taking for ten years now, since DH was diagnosed with terminal cancer.😭

Thinking of you Georgesgran and hoping your concerns will be addressed.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and grey. Yesterday eventually became a lovely day. Bellasnana and Georgesgran* I hope all goes well with your medical appointments. GrandMattie and grannygravy well done to the grandchildren for their good reports.
Yesterday I picked up the local newspaper for the primary one class photos and there was dgs1 beaming out at me. I dropped a copy off at dd and she was delighted with it. Later she messaged me to say dgs1 is a Wise Man in the Nativity play. I'm thrilled about that and I'll dig out a photo of me as a wise man at the same age. I've already asked DD to try and get me a ticket.
Today dd will pop in with dgs2 for a bowl of soup after playgroup. This will come to an end at Christmas when he goes to nursery at his brother's school, so I make the most of it. I might go shopping to Aldi before that as I'm very low on milk. The rest of the day will be quiet. Have a good day all.

Good morning from the now usual grey Suffolk although the glorious autumn colours are now starting to show on the trees. Autumn seems to have arrived later here than in other parts of the country.

I had a lovely day yesterday with dear friend in Norwich. The exhibition in the Castle museum was excellent with several paintings by artists of the Norwich school on display as well as the Turners,Constables etc. it is good when museums have a chance to bring out from the cellars some of their permanent collection. There were 2 Samuel Palmers,an artist whose work I love.

I’m travelling to Woodbridge today to meet another old friend. I heard last night that one of her oldest friends and work colleagues has asked to see her for what will be a farewell visit. She is in a hospice and only family have been allowed to visit. I know her friend too. I hope I can be the sympathetic listener she will need.

I’ve overslept! That doesn’t often happen.

I bought a new car yesterday! It’s green. It should be delivered in a few weeks. Actually, the colour is described as ‘adventurous green’.

Not sure about today. We may go to Oxford to buy a new printer to go with my new computer - I have been spoilt. It’s just coincidence these things failed simultaneously.

Our daughter is coming tomorrow for the weekend so I will be sorting out her room and planning a menu.

Good morning from a very grey Cambridgeshire.
Today I need to pop to the local farm shop for some beef skirt I ordered. It makes a lovely meal in the slow cooker cooked in Newcastle brown ale as well as other bits.
DD2 is popping in this morning to escape her decorator before embarking on her weekend away in Lincoln with her work girls.
Will see where the day takes me today. I think I’m still in hibernation mood with all this grey sky.

Good morning all from a cloudy North Leicestershire.

This morning I have to go to the butcher's and Waitrose. This afternoon I will be cooking ready for the arrival of DD2 and her family. Always fun and always tiring.

Yesterday we had a happy time at the Memory Cafe with music and dancing. One of attendees was a dance teacher and was in her element encouraging everyone. My main task is supporting the carers a couple of whom became quite emotional. I hope I was able to help but I was exhausted when I eventually got home.

Good morning from a grey W Kent. Yesterday’s outing with DD2 to a local garden went well although the little cafe only does a small menu at this time of year. Another bad night here, no idea why. Off this morning for earwax removal and further excitement visiting Waitrose for a change.
