Morning all from a grey S E Essex, it seems like it has been continuously grey forever!

I shall do some baking today, banana bread, cake and bread. DD is coming for a late roast (around 6pm) will find some puzzles and games for the GC that they haven’t played with for a while.

Have a good day everyone 🙋‍♀️

Good morning all from from Glasgow, where it is 7°C.

Oops, I had awful bouts of vertigo last year, I can empathise. My GP tried everything, including the Epley manoeuvre, all to no avail.
Mine was caused by a combination of incorrect heart meds and a reaction to my new biologics.
It was trial and error working out what was wrong.
I hope you can find some relief.

I am off to Mass this morning to continue the headcount.
We will have a short Remembrance Sunday service between the morning Masses at the war memorial in our beautiful church grounds. We lost so many parishioners in the World Wars.
The bright spot in the day, is that I shall see my darling Dollie, who wasn't at Mass last night.😍

It will be a long morning and my throat feels like sandpaper, I expect that I shall fall asleep on my return, as I always do after little exertion.

So lovely to see you posting, Kalu. I hope Blossoming, isn't struggling to much.

Have a pleasant day folks.

Good morning Mick and everyone from grey and damp Carlisle. It was chilly last night at bedtime, my upstairs heating had kicked in...it's set rather low as I detest a warm bedroom.

Yesterday I was at the convenience store early to make sure of my newspaper. Only one had been delivered so I nabbed it. When I asked if they could order more in, they said they just got what was sent. Not good!
Later I had a long phone chat with my sister and spent some time in the garden. It was chilly but no wind thankfully. The garden is now almost sorted for the winter, just a little more planting and pruning to be done.

Today will be indoors I guess though if it brightens up I may go for a walk. I'm trying to up my daily steps, get fitter, lose weight. Perhaps I should move house again, I lost 20lbs without trying last time I did it! It's mostly crept back on.

Oops I do hope something can be done for you, I've only had one brief experience of this and would hate a repeat.

And wishing you all a pleasant day.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs on this Remembrance Sunday. The weather has not changed from being grey and gloomy all week. I did very little except a food shop yesterday. I’ve stopped feeling guilty about doing nothing occasionally. DS was supposed to come yesterday for an overnight stay but changed his mind and he will come down for the football today and call in on his way home instead. Unfortunately he will not be able to stay for our late roast dinner either, when DD and her menfolk will be here. They are like ships that pass in the night.
I shall have a tidy round and watch the Cenotaph ceremony this morning and think of my old soldier.
Have the best Sunday you can, folks.

Good morning all from a dull drizzly Black country.
Shall watch the Remembrance Service then carry on with my book.
Gammon for dinner.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans ☀️.

Good morning all from a still grey North Leicestershire.

We had a lovely day with DD2 and family yesterday then she and DSil went out for their anniversary celebration and we watched Strictly with the girls and ate takeaway pizza.

Today everyone, apart from DGD4 and I, is off to the football so a big fry up is order.

Enjoy your days, everyone.

Gingster Sun 10-Nov-24 08:05:07

Good morning all .

Today Dd and I will take little DGD to a friends clay cottage party. They choose and paint an item off the shelf, have a tea party and a few games.

We’ll come back here for a roast dinner and maybe watch a film.

Have a good day and take care. 🍁🌻

Good morning from Durham. After a wet, miserable afternoon yesterday, it’s dry and grey here again - not quite so miserable.
Up and out at ‘the crack of a spuggy’s fart’ to watch DGS1’s swimming lesson, then we’re going to see Paddington in Peru (so excited!).
Looking forward to reading other posts later.
Mick is there any way to ask GNHQ to change the date?

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 7° and wet. It's been grey for days but hasn't actually rained, so I don't mind. Sar happy birthday to your dgd. Susan I'm glad you had a good day with your dgc.
Yesterday I had a good catch up with my friend. The breakfast was particularly tasty too- they've changed their sausage supplier. After I had taken her home, I headed to Tesco for ingredients for Christmas puddings. I had most of the stuff in the house but I needed currants and a new blender. The rest of the day, I got all the washing done and the bedding changed but nothing else achieved. Despite having the heating on, I felt chilled all day.
Last night wasn't a great night's sleep - various aches and pains kept waking me. Today I'm having the boys for a couple of hours while dd gets her nails done. Dsil is working. I'm planning on making the Christmas puddings with them. Dgs1 had expressed interest in helping me. Then this afternoon I'll visit mum. Have a good day all

Kalu Sun 10-Nov-24 07:52:21

Good morning all. It’s a wet, dreich start to the day in Glasgow, yuck.

I do feel for you having vertigo so often Oops, I had it earlier this year and also tested positive for Covid the same day, I don’t think there was any connection but it was a frightening experience, not having a clue what was wrong with me. I sincerely hope a solution is found for you.

My newly acquired health issue is sciatica which painfully throbs like a toothache all day and I am hoping my upcoming appointment with a physio helps. On the plus side, my BP has returned to normal. Onwards and sideways!

I swithered often about buying an air fryer but DD1 convinced me it would be a worthwhile investment. I ordered one from Amazon, used it last night and was very impressed with the results. I doubt I will have a use for an oven now.

Best wishes to all for a good day ahead.

Sar53 Sun 10-Nov-24 07:47:02

Good morning from the Essex coast where I just caught a glimpse of the 🌞.
Today DGD3 becomes a teenager, although she has acted like one for a good couple of years.
DH is off to rugby and I will watch the Remembrance Service.
Best wishes to all xx

brook2704 Sun 10-Nov-24 07:44:54

Good morning everyone from Inverness, looks like we’ve had some light rain but it’s forecast to be dry later
Good to hear you enjoyed your day with the children yesterday Susan56 you definitely deserve it
I ended up being out most of yesterday so I’ve got to get on with some housework today and a face time call with DS to look forward to
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

grandMattie Sun 10-Nov-24 07:39:58

Great sympathy for your DH, *NJ53”. I have gout, sometimes in my fingers, sometimes in my little toe. It is very painful!

GrannyIvy Sun 10-Nov-24 07:39:18

Good morning from a slightly brighter Cambridgeshire.
Yesterday I had a lovely meet up with my sister who treated me for lunch at the garden centre. We bought a few Christmas bits but strange for me no plants. I did look longingly at another hellebore but resisted temptation!
Today we are meeting friends for a Sunday roast and catch up as haven’t seen them since we holidayed together in September.
Then we will crash on the sofa in front of the wood burner and await the Strictly results.
Hope everyone has a peaceful happy Sunday

NannyJan53 Sun 10-Nov-24 07:14:15

Good morning from a cold and drizzly Black Country.

MrJ is still hobbling about, his big toe is still very sore.
Yesterday was housework, and walking into town for bits and bobs.

No real plans today, so I think some admin, and making a start on my tax return! Always seem to procrastinate on that.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Susan56 Sun 10-Nov-24 07:13:18

Good morning from Shropshire where another dry and dull day is forecast.

We had a lovely day with the children yesterday.Welcome light relief amongst all the things going on with mum.

Today we will visit mum and then we will watch the Rememberance parade on catch up when we get home.

Wishing everyone the best day possible🦩

Jaxjacky Sun 10-Nov-24 07:09:01

Morning, it’s certainly damp and dull in this Hampshire village Oops!
Still coughing away, now MrJ has the bug we’re going through tissues and paracetamol at a rate between us.
This dour weather doesn’t encourage much outdoor activity either, so yesterday was a quiet one and I can see a repeat today.

Good morning from a dark but still gloomy Oxfordshire, lots of fireworks again last night so MrOops went out in the car with the dog for an hour, they were still going when he got back home so we had some awful programme on TV with singing - volume turned up so that the dog could only hear the awful music!
Anyway she goes back home today and will soon settle into her new home.

Apart from taking her to her Mums later this afternoon another sitting down day today,

I will try to get an ENT consult to try to get to the bottom of my vertigo, I’ve had 3 bouts since the end of May and I’m getting fed up with it, I’m starting to lose confidence in going out and haven’t driven for ages as this happens so suddenly, I would hate to be driving when it happens.

Anyway, things could be worse, have a good day everyone, let’s hope to see the sun today, it’s about time it made an appearance. This weather reminds me of being a child, November always seemed to be dull and damp in our village in Hampshire.

glammagran Sun 10-Nov-24 06:42:39

Good morning all.

Had the youngest GCs for a sleepover last night. We went to Ask for dinner and DGS2 was pretty well behaved for him. We were back home by 7pm but for the first time since the summer the hedgehogs did not turn up until 10pm so the kids missed out on watching them eat their dinner. The day before they had come at. 5:30. They are still asleep but they went to bed quite late last night. They watched the Disney Tarzan film from 1999 but the 3 year old found it quite scary. DGD3 drew a picture of a vampire bat dripping blood from its fangs. She has rather a fertile imagination for 6 but she does draw very well. This was connected to Halloween of course.

Once they have left I will continue setting up my new Samsung Galaxy tablet. It’s very different to the iPads I’ve always had.

Have a good day everyone. Thoughts with all those who are unwell.

RosesandLilac Sun 10-Nov-24 06:35:13

Good morning from south Glos.
It’s a dry start to Remembrance Sunday, such a poignant day for so many people.
Yesterday I spent much of the day doing needlework and really enjoying it too. I hand sewed bias binding around a Somerset quilted square that I did several years back but never finished, it’s been sat in a cupboard taunting me 🙄
I also sorted out the fabric and bits I fancy for making slow stitch bookmarks today and I also want to make another needle book just for me 😊
DH will walk the dog this morning, dinner is sorted (chicken in red wine, mashed potatoes and vegetables) so the day is mine. I do have to do the ironing first…..
I hope today goes well for you all 🌹

Bellasnana Sun 10-Nov-24 06:32:22

Good morning from a cloudy Malta where we are expecting showers and a temp of 22°C.

Didn’t go out yesterday as it was wet, but got some jobs done around the house and made some rather delicious carrot and coriander soup. I added a swirl of coconut milk before eating it and it really was good.

This morning Mass followed by my weekly chat with my friend in Leicester, then there’s tennis to watch from Turin this afternoon so I’m a happier bunny!😊

karma I don’t know how you do it, my back aches just reading about your digging and sawing at your allotment but I do admire your dedication.

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

karmalady Sun 10-Nov-24 05:55:40

Good morning from damp and dull s somerset

My day out yesterday was lovely. I did not make anything wonderful as I have no eye for colour in glass objects but it was all about the social occasion and the chat. I am noticing the much shorter days now and as always, was glad to be home before dark

My thermostats have been adjusted upwards at better times to suit me, I have been feeling cool after my allotment stints, it is my age, I know that

Today I am going to focus on getting bush roots out at the allotment, anything else will have to wait. I wonder how many more days of this heavy digging-out?

Have a good day

grandMattie Sun 10-Nov-24 05:50:31

It’s NOVEMBER, Mick.
Good morning from a dry Bristol. With any luck, the cloud will lift a bit and we get some sunshine today.
For some reason, the church coffee and chat was very well attended; my biscuits were well received and people seemed happy with their morning. 👏
I did a lot of sewing - I’m trying to reduce my heap of scraps by making little bags for sale next Saturday.
All this “excitement” exhausted me and I as asleep by 10 last night. I did have a better night.
I’m not going to church today, not being a fan of the Remembrance Sunday service.
I hope you have a blessed Sunday. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
