Gosh monk I don't think I will tell him that! I know he said it was so bad it stopped him from sleeping Thursday night. The tablets seem to be working so far and it is definitely easing off.
Thank you JaxJacky for that. Of course I should have remembered but another senior moment! They do happen occasionally.
NannyJan DH suffers with gout he describes the pain as horrendous, he said it is worse than the pain after his quadruple bypass.
Good morning all from a grey drizzly mizzly Angus coast.
I am going through my first cold in 20 years just now, and believe me it's a corker. The last one was given to me by six-month-old baby DGD1 whose mummy had just returned to teaching after maternity leave. Those school-incubated bugs were lethal! Anyway, baby picked up the cold one. I picked her up from her morning nap and her little eyes and nose were streaming. "Oh poor baby!" I said and with that she turned to face me and sneezed right in my face. Three days later........ After that I started taking Echinacea to boost my immune system and it worked - until last weekend when NewMan brought this cold up from Notts when he came up to help celebrate DGD3's 19th Birthday. Now, I'm not saying I held him in my arms and said "Oh poor baby" to him, but the effect has been the same 😉😄.
So apart from that, no news I'm afraid. I've read the thread but now can't remember who has done what, so I'll just wish everyone a happy Sunday - with some actual sun I hope 🌞
It’s a sett Liberty funny word. We have badgers near us, fascinating, but the adults can be dangerous if riled, I remember my son being chased by one as a teen. I have no doubt he deserved it.
Good morning everyone from yet another drab and dull day in Northampton. Slept in till 8am and just had an early sausage butty; I need to be out early this morning to get a bus into town.
Busyish day yesterday; got two loads of washing done, then late lunch/early dinner and out to a rugby match. Felt really cold and was glad I had my thermals on! Was a game of two halves, as they say - we were rubbish in the first half and trailed.by 26-5 at half time. But rallied in the second half and came out on top (just) to win by 31-29.
Meeting a friend in town at lunchtime to see the new Paddington film, then home to await being picked up by DD and DS-in-law and off out for a meal to celebrate elder DGD's 17th birthday.
Must get my skates on. Have a good day everyone.
Good morning from a chilly north of Scotland. I hope the rains stays off for the outdoor part of the Remembrance Service.
I shall be watching Turin tennis too.

Good morning all. Such busy folk on GN this morning.
A very quiet day for us today, awaiting supermarket delivery at the moment.
A couple of annoying enquiries yesterday, which came to nothing regarding a keyboard we are trying to give away. It will be such a shame if we eventually have to dispose of it at the council tip. I may try a charity shop first.
GD1 has reached the final in her gymnastics competition in Poland. We shall watch the live stream as we did yesterday. She's such a graceful young lady but I still end up with my heart in my mouth when I see her perform.
GS1 is 24 years old today. Born at 28 weeks he is now a strapping over 6ft plus. What a worry he was way back then and to see him now fills me with pride.
He's away with his GF this weekend so will catch up on his return.
Have the best Sunday you can everyone.
Morning Mick, morning All. An Eeyore sky over our corner of Somerset.
Exhausted this morning after another night with little sleep. Tired of it now in all ways. Yesterday was a good day though. Mr C finished the wall in the hall which has caused an irritation or three. Ironing completed I was able to create a sort of bridge over the cracked board in the loft. All very safe if temporary. Mr C has reluctantly, finally, agreed a permanent fix must wait until a younger person who can stand up unaided is available to do it. I’m so relieved. We wandered out to a distant garden centre after lunch where we enjoyed a look at their different items and I was seduced by a warm Christmas sweater.
TV this morning and I hope a short walk by the river before a roast this evening, beef for Mr C and chicken for me.
for greyd and everyone for whom today has special significance.
Just a quick morning all from West Oxfordshire.
Our daughter is here for the weekend, which is lovely.
I am on gout medication for the rest of my life…
Love the word ‘swithered’ Kalu Never heard of it before - but so apt!
Good morning from a grey and damp NE.
DS came yesterday, we made arrangements for a meal out in December. The whole family will gather to remember DH on what would have been his 80th birthday.
DS went off to GD's school to collect her from rehearsals, only a few weeks until they stage Chicago.
GD got on with her homework while I cooked dinner. After dinner she played the piano and then DS played the mandolin.
Quiet day today.
Good morning Mick and all from a dull Remembrance Sunday 9°C.
Not much to report as still recuperating after op, but the odd feeling after my flu jab has gone.
Old friend coming to stay overnight, but hasn’t bothered to let me know when he’s arriving, ggrh and can’t get through to him. He moved house recently, just round the corner to his old one. I’m not up to much entertaining, so he’ll have to get on with it…
My DD sent me an advent box with cosmetics, v pleased.
I thought this painting “Two Minutes’ Silence” by Charles Spencelayh, 1926 rather appropriate.
Thoughts to all🌺
Thank you gM he is finding it very frustrating. He is 73 and has never suffered with anything like this before.
Good morning from a still and I’m thinking a brighter Sufffolk. I don’t think I’m imagining a hint of blue in the sky.
We will have a walk with the little dog through the nearby woods where there is evidence of increased badger activity with more sand evident from a new hide( not sure if that is the correct word for a badger’s home!).
The rest of the day will be a quiet and peaceful one at home with,no doubt, chats with the ACs. The huge pile of ironing can wait for another day.
Oh glammagran I did laugh. You were talking about the hedgehogs (cute) so when you said ^ They are still asleep but they went to bed quite late last night^ I thought you meant THEM! It was only when you said They watched the Disney Tarzan film I thought … hang on? Then clicked you meant your grandchildren! 😁
Good morning from a dry, mild Cornwall. I always reflect today that my mum was pregnant with my youngest brother and the other was one year old when their dad died in the war. She then met the sailor who became my dad when his ship came into our port. So although I never knew the soldier who died, today I think about the part he played in my life.
Later I'm meeting my daughter-in-law and budding animator grandson at the cinema just around the corner to see a robot film and eat pizzas.
Good morning. Dull weather again here in N. Bucks.
The art exhibition yesterday turned up an amazing amount of local talent .
Today we are meeting DD2 and SIL for brunch and maybe a mooch around a garden centre. I’d like to buy another item for my Christmas village.
A friend turned up yesterday afternoon so the Christmas pudding did not get mixed. A job for this afternoon.
A good day wished for all with a smile along the way.
Lovely evening with DS and he will come with me to the Remembrance Service in church and stay for lunch, so all is well with the world. Yet another day of grey skies is forecast, somehow appropriate for the day, very November. Hope today goes to plan for everyone.
Grey 🌺
Good morning everyone all from a beautifully sunny Málaga this Remembrance Sunday. There will be a parade up in Arroyo. Temperature is forecast to rise to 26°C this afternoon. We will go out for a stroll somewhere and just follow our noses. We may decide to eat lunch out then stay home tonight. It is still sunny at 6:30pm then suddenly dark by 7pm as if someone has flicked a switch!
It was glorious yesterday too. I took this photo when we went for a walk around the block as this orange tree, heavy with fruit, caught my eye.
